I haul crude oil for a living at night, and I have to read hydrometers, and temperature readings while working the oil, all while looking out for spiders, snakes, and wildlife. This headlamp is the most awesome headlamp I’ve ever owned. It puts out a brilliant light. My favorite setting is the second mode that lights up everything in front of me with a brilliant white LED light I can see every detail of my work. I highly recommend this headlamp.

Much has been written about this light so I won’t go into details. In one word, this lamp is incredible. Quality of materials is second to none. Excellent flood, beam and red light. I work in poorly illuminated places and I hunt so this lamp is with me at all times. One issue, although not worthy of docking a star, is that battery came dead. Happens. Not sure if I feel like pestering Fenix about it- I’m very happy otherwise.

“Work looks better in the dark” no longer a good excuse! Wooden boat work: time under boat on creeper repairing and painting, awkward work in the bilge, hull painting, millwork detailing—all more efficient and of higher quality with the illumination provided by this headlamp.Auxiliary battery time worth the cost. Not cheap but has already more than paid for itself. (Bought a DeWalt headlamp before this one and it was useless.)

So far I really like this headlamp for work. I work for the railroad so I put it through it's paces in some extreme weather conditions. It's handled the rain and heat fine so far. The battery last through my entire 8-12 hour shift without any problem even on high when paired with the extra power bank.I use the spot light when I need distance light and it reaches farther than any headlamp I've ever used. It has more or less replaced my handheld flashlight as I need my hands free for various task I perform at work. It is nearly as good as my handheld and that is just amazing. The floodlight is where this really does wonders. I can set it on high and it last me the night. It has more or less replaced my handheld flashlight as I need my hands free for various task I perform at work. It is nearly as good as my handheld and that is just amazing. The floodlight is where this really does wonders. I can set it on high and it last me the night. It's almost like being in daylight with the amount of light this puts off. I find medium usually does the best for my work for what I do.While I really like the headlamp I find there are some annoyances. The tilt function tends to rotate when I operate the mode select. If I have it tilted down and back off to the spotlight from floodlight it tends to move the tilt. I just use two hands when I need to change that for the most part. It's a minor annoyance that doesn't affect operation much. One thing that is concerning is the fact that it locks you out of selecting a higher function when the battery gets below a certain percentage. It was locking me into low before it even hit 30 percent. I understand it does this to preserve power but it is a bother. I actually thought something was wrong with it when it wouldn't go above low when at 20 percent or so. Once I clicked over to the backup battery it let me go to medium. I would recommend just leaving the battery on and use it while working if you plan on needing the light for more than 2 hours. If I'm running just the 18650 battery turbo is pretty much only usable for a short time before it starts to back off. I would call this more of a use only when needed function. If paired with the power bank at the same time it would be useable for at most 30 minutes at best before it starts to back off on the lumens due to heat/voltage. Still plenty bright but it's more of a use only for short time type of mode if you want full intensity. I typically run high on spotlight and medium on floodlight anyway.Overall, I would highly recommend this light if you need something that can last the night.
I was first introduced to Fenix by a coworker and I got the TK35UE V2.0 Flashlight over three years ago and it still works like it’s brand new. I’ve tried other headlamps but they always break during extreme sports. Highly recommend this headlamp if you want something reliable and will keep you safe when you need it most. Also the batteries they make for these things are amazing, I still use the batteries on my first flashlight from them and they last just as long as the first day I purchased them.I would recommend this brand to anyone who wants a quality light that will work in any condition.
I am a bat biologist and fully recommend this headlamp. The main feature I like is that the red light is 120 lumens! which is the most powerful red light I have ever use and allow me to move securely at night without disturbing animals. I also like the option of using two batteries and two battery types. I have flashlights that use the 21700 battery which means I can swap them with this, yet at the same I can have a lighter setup with just the 16850 battery. Fenix has excellent customer service so picking this product was an easy decision.
I have really enjoyed this headlamp. It’s much lighter weight than I was expecting, especially with the bigger battery. Great quality, good straps. My only suggestion for improvement, is in regards to the red light switch. I use this feature a lot, obviously using in dark settings. You have to turn the knob switch through the white spot light, then white flood light, then to the red light. If you turn it really fast, you can jump straight to the red, but if you’re too slow, the very bright white lights flash on and you lose your night vision. Also, when you turn it fast, it seems to then change the tilt of the light which is a slight annoyance.I know I’m being nit-picky, but overall I’m very happy and would buy it again.
I purchased the 75r for all-purpose use ranging from hunting/hiking to work projects - both inside and outside. The overall build quality is excellent and the light output is outstanding. You can quickly rotate the dial to red to avoid white light destroying your night vision if you desire. The light intensity control button is easy to use. The headband is sturdy and comfortable - especially with the addition of the over-the-top band. The extra battery pack is not overly heavy and ensures long runtime. Yes, it is expensive but well worth it for the quality and performance.
This is my second fenix headlamp. Also used fenix products for 10 plus years of law enforcement use. Products have never failed me. I use the 3500 mah batteries in the flashlight which also go hand in hand with this headlamp. I will just have to get a few 5000 mah batteries in the larger size batteries to have the perfect combination. This headlamp has an external battery pack with one short extension cord to be used when attached to external battery pack mount behind head and a 6 foot extension cord to attach external battery pack on belt or other location. I agree with one of the best features being each light, spot , flood, and red light having memory to stay adjusted to 2nd highest setting. I agree with one of the best features being each light, spot , flood, and red light having memory to stay adjusted to 2nd highest setting. What I mean by this is each light has it own forward spin switch setting. Each spin location has four setting which are adjusted by pushing the buttons from highest to lowest. When left in highest setting, next time you come back the light come back to o second highest level setting. . The turbo level of red light is beyond anything I have ever experienced as far as night vision visibility. The automotic sensor adjusting output based on circumstances/lighting/reflection, is really impressive to experience and use. Honestly just pay the money buy the headlamp with the warranty. It is easily worth the money for what you are getting. I am not even someone who does reviews but had to based on this product and others for the past 15 years.
I bought HM65R a while ago. I like the quality of the light. One of the downside is the battery is died somehow by itself not using it. In totall, I might have used the light about like 10- 15 times for short period of time. I recently need it to work on my but unfortunately the light was died. I was expecting longer battery life compare to what I have paid. I will recommend for other to look for some other ones with a better battery life that your time and money you spend.
