The Sahara and Pale Pink colors of this clay are a little misleading on the website. The Sahara is actually a grayish-sand color instead of the light sand color on display. It's also darker than the Pale Pink, which (true to the name "Pale Pink") is so light that it can be easily mistaken for white; it's not the peachy-pink the website shows. That being said, I still achieved what I wanted from the clays, and I'm very happy that Michaels has the option to buy in bigger bulk. Always better to shop in person so you can see colors and feel the clay for yourself, but the website is a great option if you don't have a Michaels near you.

This clay would be really nice for sculpting, but for some odd reason, it seems the clay I get from here (in stores) is old/expired. The clay is not able to be worked with. Sometimes it seems that a few moments of sitting out causes the clay to lose its freshness. I could only see clay hardening when it’s air dry, but because this should be baked to get hard, it should stay soft until baking. Several colors that I’ve used are either hard right away or become hard. The white clay is the only color I’ve used that seems to stay soft majority of the time, as if it’s replaced with fresh clay when needed. But the other colors seem to be expired and still in stores. It hurts my fingers and takes me way too long to knead or mix the clay. And when I roll snakes or balls or flatten the clay, the clay is so hard that it has cracks in it and starts to crumble and has a weird texture. It’s eady to break clay before even baking it, and clay should be able to stretch for a while but when I stretch it to test how soft it is, it breaks fast. It’s annoying that when I add clay softener, the clay becomes too soft to handle. It begins to almost melt, like chocolate, and like, shed/transfer its color. Then it’s also to soft to hold shape. I use a tool to sculpt a detail, accidentally tap it, and that detail is ruined. The craziest part is that it’s soft and hard at the same time! How can they be both? The clay is too hard to smooth while being to soft to make detail. I’m not saying this to debunk Fimo or even Michaels, but to let them know that getting new clay might not be popular but it is important for customers. I’m upset because I can’t even use all of this clay that I spent money on. And the expiration dates are a bit hard to read. I just hope that this influences them to get fresh clay.

I am new to polymer clay but not to pottery. Our community has formed a Facebook group titled Indian River Rocks . I was one of the first 500 members to be invited and now we have over 8000 memebers. We paint rocks and hide them all over our community for every age group to find and enjoy. I'm not a great painter but I can make sculptures to apply on the rocks. If I can make one person smile because of a rock creation that I make it makes me happy. All the purchases are out of our own pockets. I find the clay easy to work with not as time consuming as waiting for paint to dry. But I do paint and clay also. Our goal is to spread joy to others. Any help towards purchasing supplies to bring a smile to someone's face would be greatly appreciated. We have all age groups ... MoreI am new to polymer clay but not to pottery. A great big slab of white Fimo. Really versatile and great for mixing. Ordered a few colours and they arrived quickly. Would use this company again. Good prices and good service.
FIMO soft polymer clay is super easy to work with. It is easy to work with right out of the package, minimal kneading required, and it sticks easily to itself (when adding multiple parts together) and work surface (it won't roll around if bumped). There is a wide range of colors to choose from as well!
I bought the clay in two colours and wanted to try it out straight away. I softened the clay before starting and it’s lovely to work with to begin, but unfortunately when you roll it out it crumbles away very very easily! It often sticks to the pin, and some to the board and although you can add the crumbled pieces back in easily, I was attempting to go for some marbled effect pieces and the amount of times it needed to be rolled back just ruined this effect. This is such a shame because it’s so difficult to mould anything. I’ve not had this difficulty with other clays so I’m unsure why this one is so hard?It is fixable if you add oil to the clay, and I did end up using it to make some nice pieces, but maybe check out how hard it is before purchasing?
I'm new to polymer clay. So I'm far from being an expert on clay. However, Fimo is soft indeed, compared to the brand next to it on the shelf. I like that it's soft somewhat because I'm learning how to can, its nice when I don't have to condition it. Just take it out and start working with it to make my earrings. I wonder if they will ever make a more sturdy clay?
I always buy Fimo clay because it's so durable after baking. The colors stay vibrant and it's very easy to work with. It's definitely my favorite brand! However when buying it I always be careful. I have bought it at several stores, and the problem persists. The clay can be partially baked making it crumbly and hard to work with. This can be resolved with some clay soften if the clay isn't too far gone. It's usually caused by clay that is held in hot warehouses and vehicles. Just give it a slight squeeze before buying it should have some give. There are also numbers on the clay that are the creation date, making sure you get clay in the right year helps too. All in all great clay, but getting a bad block happens about 25% of the time so I couldn't give it 5 stars.
Been using this brand since the 80’s. It is a little harder straight out of the packaging, and takes a little more work to get it softened up and malleable, but is consistent with baking times and results. This particular one is a nice silver color. Not super glittery, but metallic.
