As an ex surf life saver and 69 years young these paddles are brilliant, after using them for about three months my technique has improved and I have more strength in my upper body . I also had a shoulder reconstruction and feel it has been the best rehab I could have had. I would highly suggest these items be introduced to anyone having to do rehab for any shoulder surgery and recovery.

Purchased these paddles last fall. Very impressed with them. Besides fulfilling their purpose as a paddle I love the convenience of not having straps. While leaving these paddles on my thumbs I am able to adjust my goggles and drink water in a short period of time without taking them off. This allows for smoother transitions and maximum rest.

I swim at the YMCA and there is several swimmers that use, including myself, the Finnis Agility Paddle. Overall a great paddle for developing a good freestyle stroke. However, because it is the YMCA and the pool is always full we have to share lanes. I have scratched one swimmer using these paddles, and I was told by the lifeguard that a there was an incident in where a swimmer got seriously scratched by these paddles a few days prior. I wish Finnis developed a scratch resistant version for swimmers that have to share lanes. I think this is a good paddle, but would advise anyone using these paddles to use them with caution when sharing lanes. They are literally weapons
Not too cumbersome, simple form fit to the hand and one hole for the thumb, without annoying straps making it easier to use and remove. They were awkward on the first lap because they are designed to fall off your thumbs if you use an incorrect form when elbow comes out of the water for the next swim stroke. My incorrect form was not completing the full stroke, not raising my elbow and hand high enough out of the water before beginning the next stroke. If the hand is not completely out of the water before bringing it forward it causes drag (making you slower) and the paddles fall off. On the second and subsequent laps I corrected my form, the paddles stayed on thereby improving my stroke efficientcy reducing my lap time.
I bought these after trying my sister's paddles. It takes four fewer strokes to swim a length with these than without, and I am better able to concentrate on hand and arm position and pull technique from entry to exit. After four workouts, the change in my speed and endurance is evident!
After a few years away from the pool, I finally had time to get back in the water! After 'permanently borrowing' my son's FINIS fins, I decided to purchase these agility paddles to see if they would do for my arms, what the fins are doing for my legs. I love them! The paddles are true to fit, and really give my arms a good workout in the water. I have used them for backstroke, front crawl and breast stroke, and can really feel the extra water that I'm pushing. They are easy to use (each paddle is marked so you know which one goes on which hand), and the paddles feel molded to my hand. I chose to purchase these paddles as I didn't want to worry about straps to keep them in place. These are great, especially for the price! I have no complaints and highly recommend ... MoreAfter a few years away from the pool, I finally had time to get back in the water! I am a 'moderate' non-competitive swimmer, working hard to do at least a mile swim per morning!
As a frequent, "senior" swimmer, I recently added these to my routine. The paddles fit my X-large hands very well. These provide additional function to enhance my fitness in my arms/shoulders. They also help me improve my free-style technique. These are a win--win paddle. The quality of the paddles are also excellent.
i borrow them from my coach today and I am buying them now. Several things I like about them 1. slip them on and get swimming. Other hand paddles you put your fingers and hand then adjust them and then you forget to put your goggles….so take them off and put your goggles back on etc. 2. It really help me with the explosive forward hand movement of breaststroke, and 3. and along with that, it helped with timing of the kick. Note: when using with freestyle the paddles are wobbly but you just have to relax and once you get the trick of wearing them they’re great.
I think I saw these on a swim video, but can't remember. Tried them out and like them a lot, but...... I don't really like the concave surface for the palm. It used to drive me crazy when I used the ones at the pool which were plastic sheet stock. They all had cupped/concave shape from lots of use. What that does, and more so on these, is make it very difficult to hold a perfect stream line profile when pushing off the wall. I would prefer a flat shape. Also, my palms fit well at the bottom, but the grove that your hand fits into tapers where your fingers go. Makes my fingers feel like they are too close together. I would open that up more, and maybe put grooves for your fingers to go into so you can have your hand and fingers in 'perfect' position. Easy to adapt to.
