It is a great freezer compartment and I really enjoy the functional layout inside both compartments. The only tiny complaint is the lack of egg holders. We purchased this beautiful refrigerator one month ago. We were somewhat hesitant to purchase a new fridge because we had not much experience in what fridges offered these days...our old fridge was 47 years old and it was the only fridge that we had ever had. After much soul searching and looking at what was available, we chose this refrigerator as it offered all that we needed, a good size interior and with gorgeous slide in crisper drawers, plus, the freezer on the bottom of the fridge - offered 2 beautiful slide in drawers and one pastry slide drawer which is fabulous. The overall appearance of the fridge is pure white, very neat in structure, and very modern for today's times. The plastic wrap that engulfs the refrigerator is such that we have chosen to leave it on the fridge for extra protection - just like a glove over a glove. The refrigerator purrs softly like a kitten, and not 'clank, clanky, clank' like our old one....yes, she was quite old indeed, but with our new fridge, we know that she will purr away merrily for a long time to come and will do the task that we purchased her for. I purchased this fridge having a similar one in the past without problems. This fridge continually beeped at intervals of 8 to 15 minutes. Muting did not help. I waited several days for a serviceman from F&P to attend as Appliances Online stated "the fridge was working so not their problem". A module has been replaced in the fridge. I feel the fridge should have been replaced by Appliances Online. F&P have added an extra year to Warranty. I am not filled with confidence!

So far so good. Very happy with purchase. This replaces our 24 year old Fisher Paykel upside down fridge freezer that we were never happy with and vowed never to buy another one, until, we did. We were confined by size dimensions which limited our choice and the FP stood out for features, finish, quality, flexible shelving and, being a bit OCD, the freezer drawers a very attractive feature. We believe FP have addressed the issues of it's early upside down freezer, freezing what was in our 'crisper/vegie' drawers and we have not had the same issue with this model. It's taken some time to figure out the appropriate setting for the vegie drawers, but, seems to be working. 2 separate drawers may not suit everyone, as opposed to 1 big one to fit celery, silver beet, etc. ... MoreSo far so good. Even though I moved out from living with my parents 20 years ago, I have never bought a brand new fridge for myself. Always had 2nd hand ones from friends. After our last move, it was obvious that the 10+ year old F&P fridge we had wasn't coping anymore. Leaky, noisy, not so much with the keeping things cold and frozen ... So we bought a new one, which was pretty exciting given I'd never done that before. Ordering and delivery was super easy thanks to the great customer service from Appliances online and they even took away the old fridge! 5 stars would order again. In about 20-ish years when this fridge carks it.
I bought the RF442LPW6 (not the X6) because it was the current model of my old F&P fridge bought in 2003. There are things I really like; the freezer, with it's various compartments, and a vastly superior ice tray. I like the placing of the control panel and the new options: alarm mute, fast freeze and bottle chill. On the other hand, I am very disappointed in the crisper drawers. My old fridge had two really large drawers in which I could fit any amount of fruit & veg. This new model, for no reason I can see, has the two drawers set in a third draw, which means: 1) I have to pull out both drawers together each time, and I don't see the point, and 2) most importantly, so much storage space has been lost to accommodate this unnecessary third draw. I love this fridge. It looks really great, the square clean cut look. Inside the fridge is a great layout & I can fit so much in there. I can have up to 7 people in my home at any time and I can fit everything needed. The freezer fits more than it looks like in the pictures. However I did have a few problems with the fridge. My first one arrived and I noticed after a week that the fridge seal wasn't sealing all the way, however appliances online were brilliant and delivered a replacement fridge the very next day. The next fridge was really noisy like a rattling noise. Appliances online got in contact with Fisher Paykal and they sent a technician around who fixed the problem in seconds!! The quality of my fridge (RF442BLPX6) has been disappointing from day one. I previously had a 442L Fisher & Paykel fridge for 17 years and not a problem. Quality seems to have taken a step backwards in the current generation. The technician who the fixed the faulty door cam was very friendly and helpful. But it took 2 visits to resolve the original issue. Also after the technician left, I noticed a scratch on the edge of the fridge door near the door opening recess. This was likely caused when the technician put the door down on the tiled floor to get the part from his van. Also, whole fridge seems to creak when opening the top fridge door. Structurally, the whole unit just seems have a light, cheap feel to it.

We are very satisfied with our new Fisher and Paykel Bottom Mount Fridge. We have limited Wall space for a Fridge and certain preferences. All of which were achieved with the purchase of this Fridge. EG We wanted: a White Fridge, LH opening doors, no less than 420L capacity, bright LED internal lighting, no bulky Ice Maker taking up valuable interior storage space (an ice cube tray is all we need), spill-safe glass trays and doors with hidden / recessed grabs. Other useful and practical features included were a bonus for us too. The Appliances Online website gave us all the info. we needed to make comparisons and an informed decision. The price was better than other merchants too. So thank you Fisher and Paykel and Appliances Online.
