We are two people. This is the first French Door fridge I have ever owned. I would have preferred a single door but few models are made any more that allow you to switch the hinge side. Storage is more than adequate. The shelves are a good size with good spacing options. Same for the doors shelves plus they are made of very solid material. The freezer is a good size. As I didn't want the ice maker version they provide a nice ice bucket with fitted matching ice tray. The small drawback is the fruit/veg drawers. While there are two of them they share a single slide out shelf. Thus you need to open both fridge doors to access either one of them.

We bought this to replace a fridge that was no longer able to keep the contents cold. This model is attractive and generally convenient to use. The french door style reduces the amount that it intrudes into the limited available kitchen space, which is particularly good. However, the french door style reduces the available door space, and the drawer style of the freezer compartment reduces the available freezer space.I am slightly disappointed that the temperature setting needs to be kept to the bottom of the scale to keep the temperature to the 0C-4C recommended range for the fridge compartment. That may indicate a problem with the compressor design, or perhaps a fault with this particular fridge. At this stage though, this is a minor inconvenience.

We had to buy unexpectedly because our side by side Samsung died after 13 years. We wanted something similar but were limited in choice due to size so French doors seemed good option. It has some advantages on previous fridge in that with both doors open you can store wide dishes. However, one flaw is that the crisper section has 2 compartments but only one drawer, so you have to open both doors if you want anything from there regardless of which compartment it’s in. Seems like a little change to 2 drawers would have resulted in big improvement in design. The freezer section is a good size but just a couple of trays would have been appreciated to help with storage and access. The ice tray is a bit weird sitting on too of a container to keep ice. The tray doesn’t cover it fully so ice is a bit exposed. overall it‘s a good fridge for the price and has a couple of extras, like the chill function, which acts like a timer for drinks put in the freezer. Maybe the design will be better on the next model.

We bought this fridge a month ago. It is a big step up from our 20 year old F&P fridge but has a few things to be aware of if you are looking at buying. It is well lit making it easy to find things in there. It is cold and seems to maintain the temp really well despite ambient temps in the kitchen (40degrees last week). The two major flaws are the crispers don’t open individually so have to open both doors to get an apple. The sliding freezer is great but not convinced the bottle chiller actually does anything! The door metal skin is very thin so if you open it and it hits the dishwasher door, as ours did, e Percy it to dent easily.Overall, we are really happy having a fridge that works, is well-lit and looks great. The couple of flaws need us to adapt to the design but do think the crisper drawers should be separated.
This fridge is quiet and easy to set up the layout to suit ones needs. It would be handy to have a temperature gauge rather than a series of lights indicating the relative temperature in the fridge. The stainless steel exterior is super easy to wipe clean. If we had another 50mm wide in our kitchen fridge space we would have bought the next size up. However, having said that this fridge is good for the two of us. The bottom mount freezer is easy to use and colder than our previous fridge. Some people complain about the lack of an egg rack but that's what K-Mart if for!
Really loving this fridgePros:- Quiet- Plenty of space- Convenient button to disable the door alarm- Freezer drawer is great, you don't need to bend down to dig things out of the back while everything falls out onto the floor- Flat front design looks great, resists fingerprints pretty well tooCons:- Need to open both doors before sliding out the produce drawer (would be nice if it was split in half so your could open each side separately)- Ice cube system isn't great, we swapped out for a different tray
I purchased this fridge a week ago. It is lovely looking fridge and the french doors make it so easy to find things. It's spacious and easy to find things. The freezer is also more than adequate for what I need. However, I have 2 issues. The freezer door doesn't open smoothly and you definitely have to give it a bit of a tug to open -- its almost like it isn't running smoothly across the tracks. But my biggest gripe is the noise this fridge makes. It is incredibly noisy - to the point I can still hear the fridge 2 rooms away. I had come across other online reviews saying it wasn't a quiet fridge - I wish I had listened and bought a different product. There is a constant hum and whirring noise coming from the unit - when its not making those sounds its making loud ... MoreI purchased this fridge a week ago. I had come across other online reviews saying it wasn't a quiet fridge - I wish I had listened and bought a different product. There is a constant hum and whirring noise coming from the unit - when its not making those sounds its making loud clicking sounds. The manual says there are some noises to be expected and I certainly didn't expect it to be whisper quiet all the time, but the current constant noise level is ridiculous - extremely loud and irritating. My 17 year old fridge worked perfectly and didn't make any noise at all. I really wish I hadn't purchased this unit.
Fisher & Paykel 519L French Door is the perfect size for my small fridge space in my kitchen. Over the years I've had 2 other Fisher & Paykel Fridges basically all the same inside design but this is my first French Door fridge and I love the space saving of the small doors when opened. As my fridge is opposite the breakfast bar there is a bottle neck when the fridge door is open, but now with this new French Door this issue has been fixed. I've been wanting a French Door fridge for a few years now and after researching all the fridges that would fit decided to stick with the Fisher & Paykel brand as other fridge reviews said that the cheaper fridges were noisy. This fridge has bright lighting and the deeper side compartments in the door are perfect.
I have had this fridge for around a month now, and I absolutely love it. I was unsure of having a fridge with a drawer at the bottom, but it offers so much space, and you can see everything at once if you stack everything vertically (Completley converted from bottom freezer fridges). I love having french doors, as this offers so much more organisation space - my husband nows where to find his salami everytime. Shelves can adjust to nice heights and the bottle holders are great. It keeps things lovely and cool (but i guess that is what a fridge should do)The "manual" ice maker seems kinda lame at first, but its actually really nice to have - we always seem to have ice available. There are minor cons to this fridge:The separators for the fridge shelves can be ... MoreI have had this fridge for around a month now, and I absolutely love it. Only had this fridge a few weeks but very impressed. Was not sure about the brand as I have heard good and bad comments but it was one of only a few that would fit our space. Choice rated it well and on checking it out was impressed with the design and features. Love the french door, so easy to get at everything. Was concerned about the freezer access as we had a side by side before but it is very well designed with the drawer and surprisingly roomy. Like that it alarms when the door has been opened too long - and that you can mute the alarm. Very easy to keep clean and quiet as a mouse. Here's hoping it continues to impress.
