After reading the description of this toy I could hardly wait for it to arrive. At first glance I thought it looked well made and is just the right size for little hands but I was disappointed in its capabilities. For it being a “boombox” I thought it would play lots of different songs, but it doesn’t. It’s cute, don’t get me wrong. It talks about colors and shapes and has a face in the cassette area that lights up. But after it tells you the shape or color it stops, rather than going on to play a song related to the color or shape. This is why I only gave it 3 stars. Mattel missed a great opportunity to make this a great toy, rather than an okay toy. It only captured my granddaughters interest for a few minutes then it was forgotten.

I was so happy to receive this toy for my toddler who just turned 2. He loves everything with buttons and sounds so this boom box was definitely right up his alley. We love that this toy has a convenient carry handle and he loves to carry it with him wherever he goes. This boom box has many interactive elements and my son loved discovering them all. We love that this toy has songs and helps to teach them numbers. My son’s favorite part is probably the tape deck. He loves pushing the button and watching it pop out and light up. He even chimes right along when it says “open” or “closed”. The only negative thing we found is that my son kept trying to spin the spinning disc and getting it to make noise but it doesn’t. My daughter has lots of toys. She’s 20 months old & was gifted this for her 1st birthday. Her dad is a DJ and this would be a cool gift if it did more. I love vetch toys but this toy barely dies anything. One speaker spins, the other is a speaker. The cassette opens. There’s a wheel on the top left. There is a switch to change the stages but it doesn’t change the saying much. For example the green switch changes 2 tubes no matter which stage it’s in. The ABC sings one time no matter which stage you’re in. The shapes will say let’s learn about circles … not much to keep my daughter busy. So, no I do not recommend this toy.

I did not know if this toy would be a hit with my toddlers because boom boxes are becoming more and more a thing of the past. I should not have worried. My one year-old immediately took it out of the package and sat for a long time checking out all the buttons and sounds it could make, completely satisfied and happy for longer than normal with any other toy. It seems sturdy, well-made, and intuitive for young children. Very pleased.
We got this for our youngest grandson. It is a great little busy box and has lots of button and knobs to keep him entertained. He loves the music and lights as well. I like that it has 3 different stages to grow with him and help keeps him engaged. Our 4 yr old grandson also likes playing with it. He has fun helping his little brother figure the buttons out, plays songs for him and dances for him! Great addition to the play room. It is brightly colored, pieces all move easily for little hands and it is well put together!
There is so many things I love about this toy!! Not only does it have a nostalgic feel (like FPs record player toy), but its has so much to offer. This toy had learning stages like FPs other toys and the phrases are super adorable. My 1-year-old gets very engaged with the different buttons, lights, and sounds. I can picture him walking around with it once he's more mobile as it is one of the toys in the sea of toys he gravitates towards the most. The boombox is durable and I should definitely withstand the next few years or play and learning!
We bought this for our 19 month old who loves music and loves pushing buttons! This isn’t really a book box like they say - lots of talking and small pieces of music but not really any songs! My daughter gets so frustrated trying to make music play and it ends up being little 5 second clips of music or just talking. I wish it had more songs and music! Wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for something with lots of songs and music. Cute concept but not exactly as advertised.
My friend bought this toy for my 10 month old baby. She loves it for all the flashing colors and songs. Most of the buttons are appropriate for little babies, however the cassette player that opens up has pinched my little ones fingers on multiple occasions. This is a design flaw and in my honest opinion is not suitable for babies who like to explore and push things closed and open. The age range should be changed or this design flaw needs to be fixed. I will not allow my daughter to play with this toy anymore.
I didn't expect this boombox to be so popular with both my children, but I received this for my 10 month old. My 5 year old immediately took it and tried to claim it as his own. It was a battle between the two as to who would get to play with it.It's great for little fingers, with lots of sliders, toggles, and definitely captures their attention. The sounds are cute too, and it even speaks in Spanish!
This boom box is a super cute toy that my baby and I both love. I love that it came in frustration-free packaging, I was able to pop it out in seconds and hand it over to my baby who was already reaching for it. It is a really good size for her to handle (she's 13 months old) and the bright colors, lights and sounds grabbed her attention. The songs are really cute and educational.There are 2 volume settings, which I really appreciate. The loudest sure is loud. I would definitely recommend this for the baby in your life. Fun nostalgia for parents and grandparents too!
