Fiskars 399261-1001 399261 Floral Pruner, Black/Orange

Smaller than a traditional pruner, but with more cutting capacity than a snip, Fiskars Floral Pruner is ideal for working with cut flowers, as well as tasks essential to encouraging healthy growth, such as cutting, light pruning and deadheading. Featuring a small bypass pruner blade design with a cut capacity up to 1.3cm ., this pruner has fully hardened, precision-ground, steel blades that stay sharp through heavy use great for pruning florals and green growth like roses or berry bushes. A low-friction coating helps the blade glide through cuts, preventing it from gumming up with sap and debris, and helping it resist rust. Ideal for cut flowers or making floral arrangements, additional features include a stem stripper for removing leaves or thorns on various-sized stems, as well as a built-in wire cutter. An Easy Action spring gently opens the blades after each cut to help reduce hand fatigue, while Softgrip touchpoints enhance comfort and control. An easy-open lock protects the blade when not in use.

Fiskars pruners are the Best

I have gone through many pruners tending my garden. Some are just uncomfortable, some break easily, some are not sharp enough to handle heavy use. Fiskars are the best. Fiskars are comfortable to hold, and have a lifetime warranty!

Great floral pruners! Slide UP to unlock

great pruners for cut flowers! The different size openings inside the handle to easily pick off thorns from stems are great. I noticed some reviews say they could not unlock these pruners. Note that you need to slide the lock UP to open it and down to lock it again. It’s not very intuitive, I’ve owned for a long time and still my instinct is to do it the other way, but it does unlock pretty easily if you remember you have to slide UP not down. Some weird glue on the last one I ordered though.

I have used many pruners personally. This is by far the worst one. Does not cut easily and you have to cut twice in most cases. I was cutting up bougainvillea branches that were about 1/4". Not a smooth cut at all. I am not really happy with this brand. I believe Home Depot previously carried a much better brand. Too bad. I will search elsewhere when I replace this pruner. The smaller pruner that I purchased at the same time works very well.Quite disappointed!

Overall poor design

I like most of the Fiskars products but this product is not one of them. There are so many others to choose from.I still use these cutters but I have to be careful as inevitably I pinch the inside of my hand if I forget it. The handle is at least an inch too short which makes it harder if you have large hands. As far as sharpness they, are fine.

I first purchased these pruners for part of a house warming gift. When I moved into my house with a garden I could be without. They are great for cutting flowers and pruning roses. This is my second pair, my others I lend to my neighbor !

[Rewarded Review] Good beginner floral trimming shears

I think that these floral pruners are great for a casual floral enthusiast. The grip on the handle fits nicely in my hand. The top part is made of rubber which is really nice because the pruners do not slip when you are using them. The pruner blades themselves cut flowers pretty well and there is even 3 different sizes for stripping stems built into the middle of the handles. When not in use, the pruners have a plastic sliding lock to keep them in the closed position which I appreciate. It would have been nice if the locking mechanism was made out of metal, but it works really well none the less. In addition, the pruners are spring loaded which make cutting flowers quickly really easy. Lastly, there is a wire cutter built into the top of the pruning blades. [Rewarded Review] Great Product

I have a yard full of trees, bushes, shrubs, grape vines and rose bushes. So as you can see, I do a great deal of pruning, trimming and shaping trees and shrubs. After the terrible winter we had with all the ice storms, we lost a lot of the branches on our trees and bushes. While my husband gets the big stuff with his chain saw, I prune all the dead flowers and branches with a hand clippers. These Fiskar pruning clippers are just the right size for my hand, they are easy to use and are sharp enough to cut the dead vines on my grape vines. In the past some of the sheers I used were either too big or not easy to handle causing my hands to hurt and blisters on my thumb. Not with these, they worked out well I was able to get a yard of trimming and pruning done quickly ... MoreI have a yard full of trees, bushes, shrubs, grape vines and rose bushes. [Rewarded Review] Impressive
27 February 2020

I received the Fiskars Light Floral Pruners and immediately put them to work! Being a woman, I love the smaller size and easy grip handle. I was amazed at how sharp the blades are in cutting my hibiscus. It has an easy open lock which must be pushed up to unlock. It has a wire cutter and a thorn stripper. The thorn stripper has openings for 3 different sizes of stems. The blades are made of steel and the pruner has a full lifetime warranty. The low friction blade coating makes cutting easier. Get ready to freshen up your garden with these pruners where you can shape up your perennials along with your small bushes. The pruner is 7 inches long and 2 inches wide making them easy to store. These pruners are excellent to have on hand if you like fresh flowers.

[Rewarded Review] Spring loose easily
28 April 2024

I have been using this pruner for years. It's light and sharp at the beginning until the spring is loose and out. Because of this problem each time, the life span of this pruner only lasts for about 9 months to a year maximum. Even though Fiskars offers life time guarantee by giving one to two new spring replacements. The spring replacement does make the pruner works as good as a brand new one and it has the same issue as the original spring.
