Stark contrast in quality between this item and the axe I bought. This feels very cheap and not well designed. Sorry.

A simple to use sharpener which is easily carried in a coat pocket for small axe and billhook blades, it has two blade-type settings and enables quick and safe 'top up' sharpening on the go. I have other Fiskars tools so know that their products are high quality. A good and useful addition to my country work toolkit

I’ve had a Fiskars hatchet for twenty years, used for bushcraft and household/ garden tasks, great piece of kit but it was losing its edge. Tried sharpening it with whetstone but it was never sharp enough. I bought the Fiskars sharpener and first time sharpening, perfect!

Best sharpener ever

This is the easiest and best sharpener I ever had. Chopping wood or cutting veggies - always with a sharp tool. Great! :-)

Decent little sharpener

Did exactly as described. The Fiskars axe is very sharp, took all the little knicks out too. It even sharpened a hand axe that has never been sharpened in 7 years, and was blunter than a butter knife in about 20 minutes. I had to warn the family after I sharpened the kitchen knives too - nice and sharp now (much easier than a wet stone too)

It just doesn't work very well. Pity, all other Fiskars products are excellent, but this.... it's craptacular

Keeps my kitchen knives sharp

I've had this sharpener for around six months now, I mostly use it for keeping my kitchen knives sharp (I use it once a week or so) and it does this very well, makes a huge difference in the house. Also works well on axes, but I have some that are too thick to fit in the wedge (not Fiskar brand), but works well with the Fiskar axe that I have.

Not impressive

I bought this as I had a winter’s worth of kindling to prepare in lockdown. It was not so easy to get the axe head to go through, it seems to have made a little difference. Supposed to be able to empty it, now when on knife it keeps flicking back to axe. I do better with my knife on my steel. There’s no helpful instructions with it, are you supposed to hold against the plastic & do both sides or hold vertically? Even YouTube promo videos didn’t show much. I’d recommend this if you can’t get your axe sharpened professionally or other ways or if you can’t use or don’t have a knife steel. Then I’d probably say, spend your money on a steel.

Sharpener is worth getting with the Fiskar Axe

Purchased the sharpener with the axe. The axe comes very sharp. After cutting a truck load of hardwood I ran the axe over the sharpener and you could use the axe as a shaver. The casing for the sharpener is plastic, time will tell how well it holds up. At this time i am happy, good axe and the sharpener proved effective and efficient

Very disappointing

Fiskars products are normally good quality, but sad to say this isn't. Flimsy plastic that looks fragile and very light which makes using difficult. Tried in large axe with minimal affect, tried smaller axe too thick to fit to use. Knife section just as bad , overall waste of time, effort and money, my advice buy something else.
