When my previous Inspire HR Fitbit gave up the ghost I did quite a lot of research looking into a replacement. I wanted something stylish, slim and discreet with a good range of functions. The obvious choice for me was the Inspire 2, epecially as it came with the bonus of a year's worth of Fitbit Premium which has proved to be more useful than I'd anticipated. I like the water lock feature and that it holds its charge for a good long time. The charger is also an improvement as it just doesn't rely on magnets alone, Why I haven't awarded 5* is because: 1. In spite of those two minor issues it's a good buy.

This product stopped working after having it for a year and 2 months. It was just over the 1 year warranty. The battery would drain from 100% to 0% in 7 hours and happen over night. I contacted their support team and all they did was send me a link to a generic article to change settings such as GPS and notifications. I had neither enabled in the first place and the Fitbit used to last about a week before I had to charge it. I looked online to trouble shoot and this is apparently a common issue. There are many fitness trackers to choose from. I could have gotten an Apple Watch with the money I have spent on their trackers over time. The Alta HR was discontinued for the Inspire 2 and it's been like taking a step backwards. There is no comparison. First, it's thicker which is uncomfortable when you wear it 24/7. The screen is impossible to read outside even if you cup your hand around it. The simple scrolling up features on the wrist are easy to navigate but once you try to use the extra features it's simply an exercise in frustration. It takes a while to find the one you want and then it usually gets stuck on one you don't want and it's hard to get out of it or back to the screen you want. The side button is supposed to take you to the main screen but rarely does, especially if you are in the middle of a feature. I can see why so many other reviews mention having an issue with the water lock feature. I end up there every time I try to get out of the exercise feature. The quality has definately suffered for the quantity of features. I can't get the notifications to work, despite following the instructions to set it up and doing all the trouble shooting instructions. I don't get the nudges to walk if I haven't reached my hourly goal and I couldn't get the watch to stop vibrating after I set the alarm clock. When I thought I had cleared it for good, it repeated the process the next morning. Now, I don't use that feature at all along with many of the others this device is supposed to offer. After wearing it for a couple weeks, I've stopped looking at the stats on my wrist altogether and instead I just use the App on my phone. This is in stark contrast from when I wore the Alta HR. I would take a few good features over many that don't work well or are difficult to navigate on a small device. I've recommended many Fitbits in the 7 years I've been wearing them, but I cannot recommend this one to anyone.
