Ordered this item because it was advertised as the full kit. Which is a good deal and why I purchased it. Well I was wrong. When it was received all we got was the multimeter. Nothing else. JB Tools needs to get their act together and make sure they aren't advertising a product that they aren't even selling to you. I emailed them and all they can do is refer me to Flukes website for said item, pointing out just the multimeter for sale. I did NOT buy from Flukes website. I bought it from walmart.com. Very disappointed.

I have several other multimeters that use in different locations. I keep the Fluke at my main job where I diagnose cars electrical and computer problems. I have an Actron and a Blue Point one at home and a Radio Shack one at my part time job where I also diagnose electrical and computer issues. The Fluke is easily the highest quality meter and you can feel the difference just by turning it on. It has all the features I need plus a couple of nice features like back lighting. My Blue Point meter may actually be made by Fluke for them but is not the same quality as the original Fluke. The accessories that come with it will get you started and you can add on from there. I have had my 88v for about 10 years now. It's been dropped from ladders, gone thru sitting in extreme heat of Nevada sun to transmitter towers on mountains 10000' middle of winter.... It's been exposed to over current and voltage on resistance setting and it still holds accurate readings with the only issue I've ever had is when moisture got into the test lead section. Causing it to think it was in current test. Plus this meter has just about any measurement one could ever need to make except inductance. If it had that it would be the near perfect meter.

Love this meter but have had two flaws. I have used fluke (83 & 87s) and other auto rangers professionally for years, and even though it auto ranges to a point, sometimes I have to play with the range to see what I want, so this is not a true auto range meter. Also after a few weeks, started having resistance issues in meter leads .. apparently you have to twist them occasionally between the two top types or resistance apparently builds up. Fixed this with another set of leads for my production work, but I keep these on standby.
I received the 88V for Christmas and it was a gift for my participation in an automotive repair internship. Using the meter for a few tasks really showed me the many scientific features– for example the water temperature of the swimming pool was taken to compare the results with a weather service. Verifying good electrical grounds on vehicle components, and checking the resistance of installed automotive wiring makes diagnosing and installing more accurate. Protecting the meter seems easy with the yellow bumper case. There are many accessories that can be used like the temperature reading probes, direct current reading meter clamp, alligator clamp probes, thin-wire precision probes and probes that can be inserted into the wire by needling the probe-needle through ... The jobs that the meter was used for are okay. The display is large and easy to read.
It’s just the Fluke 88V automotive meter and one set of TL-175 Twistguard test leads. It is NOT what is pictured with all the other probes and accessories. It’s still a great deal for this meter!
This meter may be fine for automotive work, but it's not handy for measuring AC voltage in household wiring. After you turn the meter on by turning the dial to measure AC voltage, the reading across a live 120 V circuit is "0.L". This is because the meter does not, by default, auto-range. By pressing the "range" key, you can set the range to 600 V which will give you the expected 120. The range "Manual 6 00" is shown in very small letters on the display. You need good eyesight to see that information at arms length and you must remember to look for it. If you only use the meter occasionally, you may forget such details.I am pleased with my Fluke brand meters, but the 88V isn't the one I pick up to test household wiring.
I have a Fluke 88 from many years ago, and it was caught in a house fire that melted down the housing to the point where the inside was visible. And guess what- after working the dial and plastic to be able to get it to move freely again, the meter still works perfectly and never lost calibration, checking it with a laboratory calibration standard. Astounding build and design. Hoping they maintained the same level of design, this is pretty much the standard bearer. Tried to contact fluke to see if replacement housings are available, but haven't been able to get a response; but as it's still functional, it will continue to serve, with added character...
We are an electronics repair shop specializing in automotive computers. I have one Fluke 88V that has been used every day for close to 10 years, and two others that are only 1-2 years old. Fluke advertises these as high precision, but more important to us is the speed at which they respond. All other multimeters take 2-3 seconds for the reading to stabilize, so when you take a measurement, you sit there waiting for it to stabilize, never quite sure if what you see is the final result, or if it is is going to change again. With the 88V, it updates so quickly that by the time you have your probes positioned and go to look at the display, the number you see is the final result. When doing continuity tests with the "beep" function, some multimeters take 2-3 seconds to ... MoreWe are an electronics repair shop specializing in automotive computers. When doing continuity tests with the "beep" function, some multimeters take 2-3 seconds to beep, so you have to move very slowly, to be certain as to whether it will beep or not. With the Fluke 88V, the beep is instant. Finally, the battery life is phenomenal. Using it 2-4 hours a day, I get close to a year out of a 9V battery!
Ive had this multimeter for a few weeks and its my most favorite tool in my tool box. This meter is by far one of the highest quality meters on the market. Its packed with features and feels really sturdy. This was money well spent cant wait to use this for years to come.
