The instructions are awful. Make sure you put the gasket in correctly or it won’t work. Took hours to figure that out + calling Fluval customer service twice + gallons of water spilled everywhere. But now that it’s running it’s amazing. Literally almost silent! So much better than my old noisy filter. Love that you can adjust the flow. I definitely recommend getting the spray bar as well, that makes it even quieter plus agitates the surface much better. Overall it was a miserable experience setting it up but the product itself is fantastic

This is a stunning filter. So easy to use and maintain. Took just two days to sort out my stubborn tank which I struggled to cycle in the past. Internal filters just don't cope.I was apprehensive in removing the pipeline, but no mess at all. So much better then internal filters where you have to remove from the tank and spilling detritus back in the waterHoses are fiddly at first, but fitting is a one time task.Also very quiet

I bought the Fluval 207 pump to replace my Aquis 1050 pump which had worked faithfully for 10+ years. My first instinct was to buy another Aquis but unfortunately I was unable to find one that could be delivered quick, so having looked at numerous reviews I bought the Fluval, and I have found it to be equally effective, it is relatively easy to set up - I originally read the set up instructions in the manual provided, but found it easier to follow a YouTube video- it is good that the pipework and filter media is included however, I've got a large tank set into a corner cabinet and had to raise the filter to make the pipework long enough to go into the tank! This generation of filter is built very similar with several improvements. It runs great and is relatively silent, largely due to soft mounts inside and soft plastic feet on the canister. I expect to get another 10 to 15 years of service from the 307 as well.I have read other reviews and can only determine the failures where due to the canister being plugged in and run dry before being properly primed. This will burn out the motor in a matter of minutes. A couple pumps of the primer handle is all it takes, bubbles will come out the outlet. And the 307 did not disappoint . Strong flow , so much so I had to dial down the flow. I’ve had this for a few years, it’s been good. However, I put off cleaning it due to the fact that when it gets put back together, it’s extremely frustrating to get the top to seal and get water to flow without it leaking. I’ve attached a ratchet strap now and it still hasn’t fixed the issue. Top cracked while trying to force the top down.
I have purchased two of these in December and neither of the two work. I have gone through every possible trouble shooting needed and fluval just doesn't acknowledge that the motor head is bad (It stops running entirely after a few minutes). They find all possible reason to fault the customer in some fashion. If you are a passionate about your aquariums as I am please purchase a better brand. I am taking both back for a refund this weekend sadly.
Good flter. One problem the tubing supplied is fine with most tanks but is too short for an Aqua One (especially tall). It would be useful to know this before purchase. I had to reuse some of my existing tube.
My first experience with one of these cannisters was a used Fluval 305. I ended up needing about $50 worth of parts to get it going, but it did a great job and it was quiet. Recently, after cleaning, the main motor head seal failed and I ended up with a few gallons of water on my floor. To be fair, I keep the unit in a large container in case this ever happened and had to empty the bucket earlier that morning. Long story short the overflow was my fault. Parts for these units are relatively easy to find but not necessarily easy to get right now. Hence my purchase of the 307. I moved my media over and it got busy clearing up the tank quick and in a hurry. I'll be ordering a new seal for the 305 and put it into service for another 50 gallon tank soon.
