It has all the io of the Scarlett and on paper the mic pres only have one more dB of gain. But the quality of the pres are very nice. Theyre dead quiet. The Air feature is nice too. It add airy details without sounding harsh or artificial. And while 57dB of gain may sound skimpy compared to the 80dB you can get from Presonus, the pres on the Clarett sound better. Ive never had to crank them all the way up anyway. Of course I dont own a ribbon mic where I would need all that gain. Id likely get a cloud lifter if I did. Editing and mixing are crystal clear with lots of depth. With 10 analogue outputs, you can even mix in 7.1.2! There are better interfaces out there but youd have to pay at least twice as much to do better, such as Antelope or UAs Apollo. It serves my needs very well and I cant complain much. The one gripe is you cant do zero latency monitoring. You can get really close. Close enough really, but not true zero latency. Overall Im very pleased with it.

I bought this thing last November and I love it! It's definitely a great upgrade from the Scarlett interfaces! the preamps on the Clarett+ sounds much better than the Scarlett range interfaces and AD/DA conversion is much better! Also It's very easy to register and set up!

First, I will say these units are always a little confusing to set up with so many ins and outs and things going all over the place but Focusrite has really good tech-support and was super helpful.Next I will say that the mixing software included was more intuitive than most other companies. Some people seem to complain that it seems too simplistic, but I’m not sure why this needs to be Complicated. My previous year was an RME which sounded great, but the software was a little much.My Focusrite sounds super clear and so far I’m very happy with it.Probably the best value unit available.

A great product. Superb sounding converters. Easy setup.
The Focusrite Clarett+ 8pre is absolutely perfect. It sounds amazing and brings to life my Novation Peak with the air feature like my Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2nd gen couldn’t. I will be using it for our band so there will be more instruments to plug in and record further down the line which I’ve not got round to yet but can’t wait.Set up was easy, although you may have to do a bit of reading into how to use the software as it can get confusing at first, but once you get your head round it it’s plain sailing.
Overall:Got this to replace my 2i2, and boy does it deliver! Clean sound, easy to use and rock solid construction. Definitely recommend if your looking for a solid investment that won’t tank your wallet!
This is an upgrade from my MOTU 828mk3. Got tired of the lack of support or driver updates. Needed a more stable interface that also allows me to change buffers inside of PT without having to shut the session down first. The Clarett+ seems to have an accurate sound also. I just got it and haven't mixed with it yet, so take my review with a grain of salt. It was easy to install and has a similar routing option as the MOTU, so I had things up and running within a hour
After an iMac upgrade and an inability to find a driver for my ancient Original MOTU 828 I finally started researching a new Audio Interface. With so many impressive reviews, as well as a Musician's Friend high recommendation, I purchased The Focusrite Clarett+ 8pre USB C rack mount interface. The crystal clear pre amps are everything the reviews all raved about. The seamless, driver free setup was refreshing. I just plugged everything up and the Mac somehow knew it was there and I clicked yes when asked if I wanted it as my interface. I had planned the entire day for setting up but was quickly up and recording a new project in minutes. My fears of the discontinuation of the Thunderbolt version and possible Latency issues were completely undetectable. While I had read these things about the Clarett+ I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to call Focusrite's customer service and quickly speak to a knowledgeable tech who patiently walked me through my questions about the interface app. Again, what more could you want?
