This is an excellent machine. The 1:1 ratio is really nice, and means that you don't need to load as many plates. It's very solidly built (I've put a couple hundred pounds on the smith bar with no issues), and is easy to adjust. The only downside is that it doesn't have the select-stack of the g12 (also 1:1 ratio), and that does slow you down--but as a tradeoff you don't need plates & weight stack (and you'll almost never max out the weight). This comes with a plethora of attachments, and all feel solid. Having built this, I've been really happy with it (and am trying the Force app training program, which honestly is pretty good).Assembly was very very hard. I did find:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYD6qOYFbwI&t=736swhich was very helpful in running the cables. For some reason our long cable (running between the movable grips) is a bit too long, but not so much that it goes out of the wheels. On the professional installation, it was bad with Out Of The Box, enough so that I just built it myself--but Force was very helpful and was able to refund the professional assembly I had purchased. Finally, I also got the upgrade kit. Overall, it's definitely worth it if you want the jammer arms or the leg developer stuff, but just leave an extra minute or so to add / remove it.

This machine is basically everything you would ever need in a home gym. The cables run really smooth, the smith bar glides effortlessly and the unit is solid.Something to note is the item pictured is slightly different than the actual unit. The exercise chart is longer and the Landmine is set up on the outside of the rack instead of the inside. Another issue is that the dimensions listed for interior working space is 43” but assembled is actually 48”. The problem with that is a standard 7’ barbell just barely fits in the j-hooks so there is no wiggle room when unracking the weight. Be prepared to bump the rack when starting a lift

This All-In-One Trainer is everything it says it is and more. First, the checkout process was very easy and the delivery was extremely quick given the product weight. Second, the assembly took about 7 hours (that was expected after reading the reviews prior to purchase) and the instructions were good. I highly recommend unpacking everything and going through the instructions the day before the assembly to familiarize yourself with the instructions. The instructions could be more detailed at times but if you take your time, you shouldn't have issues. I'll echo another reviewer and recommend putting the smith machine counter weights in the tube prior to standing up the racks if you have low head room. I did not have that problem with my setup but I can see how others might. Last but not least, my experience with the trainer exceeded my expectations. I absolutely love, and my wife does too, how you can literally do just about everything with this trainer. My wife loves the smith machine and I love the fact that I can use a barbell with the j-hooks. The ability to do lat pull downs and leg presses is great! The cable assembly's move easily along the rails and there are plenty of free weight storage. My only gripe is that the j-hooks could have been designed better. If you care about your barbell and don't want metal to metal contact then I would recommend getting third-party j-hooks. Otherwise, this is truly a 9.9/10 review. I tell everyone about this machine!

Five months and still waiting for replacement cable

A product is only as good as the post-sale service and support. The fact I’ve been waiting over five months for a replacement cable for my G9 should say all you need to know about this company and product. When fully functional, the G9 is ok and a great entry level machine for the home gym. However, I can’t use the smith bench for incline bench press because the Force USA adjustable bench can’t go back far enough to get the proper angle for incline bench presses. I’m not sure if it’s possible with other incline benches. The cable action isn’t as smooth as other machines. I replaced the J hooks immediately with something that would protect my barbell as well as the machine better and also felt safer when racking heavier weight. Also, because I’m a little taller at 6’3” the top height for cable pull-downs seems low, so at times I have to perform certain exercises on my knees to get the proper extension and range of motion.

It’s impossible to provide a review at this time since we received the G9 about ten days ago and we have it 80% assembled with no problems until we got to Step 5. This is where we need to drop the Smith Machine down into the round tubing. The counterweights are approximately 18” long. We have the machine in a basement with 4 inches from the top of the tubing to the ceilingThe installation instructions should have said during Step 1 - if you do not have 20 to 24 inches from top of machine to ceiling that counterweights MUST be installed in tubing BEFORE assembly of frameWe took one round tubing upright off the machine and angled it so we could drop in the counterweight. G9 is a great machine but has a few quirks that you need to consider.
16 December 2021

All in all a great machine. As others have commented the olympic plate holders are tight and are made of cheap plastic outside with screw to tighten so it feels unsafe. Assembly really isn't too bad. Pictures of the instructions could be better. I bought outside plates so they work much better than the force ones. The big issue I have is the width of the machine when you want to use the machine as a power rack with a normal width barbell like (ohio bar) when bench pressing or doing squats. Its a little too wide. You only have an inch of space to the collar of your barbell in either side. And if you're lifting alot of weight and don't want to ruin your barbell you really need to manage the weight and place the barbell slowly. All the attachments are well made for ... MoreAll in all a great machine. Honest Review including Pros and Cons

After extensive research I ultimately decided to give this unit a try as my official home gym. It arrived via freight in a sturdy box. Everything was individually wrapped and in flawless condition.Over the course of a few days I pieced it together by myself. It wasn’t physically demanding however a second set of hands would help but isn’t necessary. The instructions are slightly subpar and you should absolutely double check each step. I wish they broke up the steps further as some of the early steps have an overwhelming amount of things to put together at once. It can be difficult to understand where to begin. Having the pictures blown up too would help as it’s hard to tell which nut and bolt to put into which holes. One HUGE recommendation, put the weights for the ... MoreAfter extensive research I ultimately decided to give this unit a try as my official home gym. My ceiling only has a few inches of clearing and I had to break it back down to get the weights in then rebuild it.As far as performance, it does literally everything as advertised. It’s a fantastic piece of equipment that feels extremely sturdy and high quality. Pulley system is phenomenal, smith machine is very smooth and feels sturdy compared to cheap stuff, and the attachments are all good quality. My only complaint is the rack is wide so it’s a tight fit when racking a barbell.Overall fantastic alternative to the gym. Highly recommend this if you’re serious about an all in one home gym. Thank you Force USA for this incredible product.

Packaging
27 July 2023

I ordered the Force USA G9 after researching and reviewing it for a few years. I will not be able to assemble it or use it until late August 2023 as we are moving into a new house that is not finished. This machine was bought for the new house with a basement. I can say I have read many reviews and the packaging is second to none! A 48 page, well diagramed and descriptive manual is great! Not sure why reviewers complain about it. Everything is bubble wrapped and it was shipped in a plywood box with metal edge supports! Shipping by SAIA was great! On time, very pleasant and the driver went above and beyond to get the 608# box into my garage! I am very much looking forward to building it and using it daily in my new house! Will plan another review once I have used it!
