Very well made, solid and sturdy, no concerns there. Only criticisms are the safety rails are not quite long enough. A tall person fully upright in the hack squat cannot reach the safety rails to engage them, you find yourself having to partially squat to do so, which is quite annoying after a hard set. Secondly the bottom stop is too high. It isn’t terrible, but those who want to touch ass to calves when doing a hack squat will be disappointed.

I was a bit skeptical at first after reading through a lot of reviews on a lot of different hack squat/leg presses. Force USA's in particular caught my eye because of the size, weight capacity, and the weight storage pegs. I had read some negative reviews but it seems like it has all been addressed in the newer version, and I really have no complaints about the machine itself. Very satisfied with thisPROS- Very solid: doesn't move much at all when loaded and feels secure when in use- The leg press plate is much bigger than some of the other options I've researched. It's still not leg press sized, but its big enough for me- ROM: I'm 6'7 and still have plenty of space for both the hack squat and leg press. On the hack squat I can get a full deep squat with the safeties on the second position, which addresses one of the complaints I saw with the older version- Great weight capacity: I use bumper plates and can still get about 550 on here, with thinner iron plates I would easily have room for the full 1000 it's rated for- Comfort: The padding is pretty good quality, no issues on my shoulders for hack squatsCONS- Assembly: Each step was a blurry blow-up diagram with a few lines of text instructions, with the diagrams sometimes being near impossible to make out. There were also some points where it felt impossibly hard to try and squeeze a piece in where it belonged, so having a rubber mallet to help shove it in there might be a good idea.

This is an awesome machine! It is very well built. Just by looking at it you can automatically nktice the superb craftmanship. Force USA has also one of the best customer service around. One of the boxes was torn when I received it. Luckily, I was only missing one plastic end cap and one Olympic bar sleeve was damaged. I called Force USA and actually spoke to a person. I gave him the part numbers from the manual and within 5 days I had replacement parts!! Great customer service and totally great Leg Press/Hack Squat machine. The best!!!

I put off building this beast for some time. Turns out ForceUSA did a superb job packing and taking inventory. It took some time and effort, no doubt. At least half a day solo. That said, each step comes with its own wrapped set of bolts, washers, and nuts, etc. Not a single left over part. Pretty decent drawings. Had to focus on a coupe carefully, but it all became clear. Need few tools but helps if they are quality. Double up with ratchet/wrenches for the two or three bolt sizes to speed things along. Was an enjoyable process. Build quality is superb. Solid. Movement is butter smooth. Don't hesitate.
What a great machine feels good and solid . For me the bar sleeves to allow for olympic weights are plastic . Just wish that they were metal at the price I paid would have thought it would have came with metal ones. We will see how long they last . Would also like to be able to go lower in the squat so longer safety rails would have been good. Other than that great machine and a great company to deal with. Fast delivery to Western Australia
PROS:The machine is well-engineered, heavy duty, easy to install solo and easy to use in all of its configurations. It is attractive and has a relatively small footprint given its heft. The mechanism is smooth and the platforms have a wide range of angles and are easy to change. The gym quality pads are comfortable.Fast shipping, about a week.Great customer service. A couple of the boxes arrived torn up. A bag of hardware was missing, just several metal plates for reinforcing stress points, but I could still assemble the machine and add the reinforcing plates afterwards.I called ForceUSA and they shipped out the missing pieces quickly at no charge.CONS:The safety stop is set too high for a deep squat. I'm 5'9" and it is too shallow. It is removable, which solves the problem, but then no safety. The pin to set the foot plate for the LP is slightly smaller than the holes used to vary the foot plate angle. This results in a little motion on the plate, especially when using the LP as a calf exercise. There is a bit of wobble on the standing calf raise t-bar where it inserts into the foot plate. The foot plates might be a little narrow for some with long legs or who prefer a very wide stance.Getting into and out of the leg press is awkward. But there are lots of things to grab onto to get in and out.OVERALL this is a fine piece of equipment, well worth the price. It is essentially gym quality and very easy to assemble and great to use.
Overall this is my takeaway:Solid machine will get job done but company cut corners:1) no extra screws / washers2) no painted screws (silver screws in a black bar) or curved washers (flat washer on curved bar).3) Should have added more spring loaded pins at adjustment points - they gave one for foot plate - but for seat and calf raise regular pin, and its just clunky to adjust.4) The plastic sleeves that you slide 2" weight plates over are attached with tiny screws to a smaller inner bar - that tiny screw pushes down on inner bar and that's what is made to hold it in place - the sleeves don't lay flush it just isn't "finished" and those tiny screws and plastic sleeve combo are just not built to last - again it will get the job done but ongoing theme of "the ... I've had the leg press/hack squat for a few weeks at the moment and am quite impressed. Very smooth action with no wobble or jerking motions like some wheel in the frame ones do. The assembly instructions are not a step by step, however if you are mechanically inclined/used to assembling things it's not difficult as it is in a simple diagram layout. If you're shorter than average the hack squat, even with safety stop removed, may have you not hitting depth. I'm average height and I hit about parallel, so rigging something up to help with that is necessary. ATM that is my only negative. Solid piece, smooth action, sturdy...love it so far.
I've been using this for about a month and so far so good. First off the boxing and packaging was very good compared to other equipment I've purchased (I won't name a brand but it starts with a T). I'm used to building things so the instructions were fine for me, but I can see where they might be lacking for many people. I liked the way each page of the manual was a "step" and all bolts, washers, and nuts were grouped and numbered for each step. Using both the hack squat and leg press have been very good. I'm 6' tall and can get full depth for both movements. The action is smooth. I did have to experiment with the angle of the foot plates (and back plate when doing leg press) and also foot placement on the plates, but once I found the sweet spot for all of that, ... I researched leg press/hack for my home gym and the reviews and on line videos steered me here. I am not disappointed.First, the communication and delivery vendor and packaging of my machine was top notch. I’ve had a lot of equipment delivered and none was more smooth.Second, the detail for installation and step by step sectioned nuts/bolts and directions make putting together this complex machine a piece of cake.Last, the finished product did not disappoint. We are advanced lifters so I’ll end up modifying one thing (the safety stopper). The safety doesn’t allow enough depth for us, but for most it is doable.Worth every penny. Nicely done!
