Good, snug fit. You feel confident and safe in the gear! Only hard part is the side velcro straps... the stitching gets caught in the plastic opening and it's hard to get off and on. Otherwise, it's incredibly lightweight and brings in lots of air for those hot days - you forget that you're wearing it. 9/10 from me!

I have this jacket, bought it for protection for cycling. Well, as the title goes, I fell on to the side and snapped my collarbone. Now, I think level 2 armor should be optional. On the plus side, I fell really hard on my back and elbow. Both unscathed, mesh didn't rip. Also, the air flow is good if you are moving. Going uphill is still a little warm. Otherwise a good product. I just wish I could decide for myself - level 1 or level 2. I would certainly go for level 2, and this might be 5 stars... π

I tried to find the perfect safety jacket, but always something missing. This Fox jacket is maybe the best compromise I found because a "all in one", easy to wear with a good fitting, long shirt so never come outside the pants, a masssive one piece chest protector included, a back protector level 2, etc... But... Why is the back protector so short??? The lower area of the back is not covered. With a D3O area 15cm longer, it would be the perfect jacket. And it should be easy to include it in such a long jacket.

The new Baseframe is so much better than wearing separate pieces of gear. It goes on so easy and fast and I forget it is there when I am riding. The shoulder protection was the most important for me and this nicely covers your AC joint and all the boney portions of your shoulder. I am 5'9" 175lbs, medium fits great, could be a little looser around the chest strap but I workout a lot. No uncomfortable spots though. Highly recommend, no more tight and sliding elbow pads.
Seems like it should be worn as your first layer, maybe with a form-fitting (almost compression) tee shirt underneath.Loses a star because of the straps around the back & chest protectors. I'm running without them, the fit is tight enough and the straps complicate getting in and out of this thing. The removable section in the back protector for a neck brace isn't enough for the Leatt 4.5, and the stand-offs on the front of that collar land on the chest protector. I'll run a different collar and keep the full D30 for the back and chest.I couldn't find sizing information on the Fox site (there's a link on their page, but the result doesn't render) nor here but for one example in the video. So I'm including a photo from the hanger; I found the chart to be accurate.
I bought the base frame pro d30 chest guard jacket for mountain biking and rollerblading. With the first wreck while rollerblading, I found that although the olecranon process ima covered, the pad twisted laterally, leaving my medial epicondyle exposed. The medial epicondyle suffered a direct hit, but gratefully, was unharmed other than superficial bruising. I recommend opting for the chest/shoulder/back protection without the elbow pads so that you can select your own elbow protection. Otherwise, you need to be very deliberate with pad placement while donning the equipment. Also, the slit through which the strap passes for securing the chest pad is too small. The edges of the strap get caught on it while removing the strap.Otherwise, I think it is good equipment ...Β MoreI bought the base frame pro d30 chest guard jacket for mountain biking and rollerblading. With the first wreck while rollerblading, I found that although the olecranon process ima covered, the pad twisted laterally, leaving my medial epicondyle exposed. I like the low profile of this suit. I was replacing the old Fox launch suit. Protection is down a little but I think the mobility of this is better and I could even wear a chest protector over it if needed. Also it accepts my leatt where the old launch suit did not. I got a Medium at 5'8" 170lbs. My chest was on the high end of the scale and it's a little snug but I think Large would have been too loose.
A friend recommended this Fox Baseframe jacket. Itβs super light and low profile. More like a shirt in that aspect. In a good way. It fits comfortably underneath my MX jerseys and offers significant protection. Chest, back, elbows, forearms and shoulders. I barely notice I have it on. Until itβs needed. Ultra modern lightweight materials and real protection in a low profile garment. Feels like the future is here, now. Recommended to me by a real racer of dirt and pavement. Glad I took that advice!
I'm sorry to say that but the price is completely unjustified for what you get. It's literally stocking textile with protectors in it. Easily gets damaged, even by the velcros if you're not careful with them. There is also a small issue with the design of the chest strap, it's to big for the loop you have to put through every time you put it on and take it off. Quite annoying. For the price of full leather jacket it's simply not worth it, in my opinion.
Comfortable. Easy to get on an off. Protection looks superior with its ability to absorb some of the shock.. only thing I don't like is it takes almost 10 minutes to get the D30 pads back in the garment. Had a Leatt 5.5 hard shell armor an broke 9 bones, so I needed something better.
