Love the tailgate pad , feels like it’s built well and really does a good job holding the bikes upright. The padded blocks for the down tube is really nice. I have been using it for a month now at least 2-3 days a week. Only con for me is my backup camera is up high on my 2017 F250 tailgate and the pad completely obstructs the view from the camera. But for the price I’m not going to complain about it. All tailgates are different.

Awesome tailgate pad. I've used race face and dakine pads in the past and this is my favorite so far. Pad still let me use my back up camera and open tailgate with no obstructions to the handle. Pad looks like it will hold up much better than my last pad which was a race face one. The pad fits my 2017 f-150 tailgate perfect. My trucks tailgate has a curve to it and this caused my old race face pad to have waves in it and not sit flat. Fox has solved this issue with there pad by adding straps on the top of the pad to contour it to match the tailgate. My only complaint I have is the metal buckles for these straps on the top of the pad have metal buckels and nothing to prevent you from putting your bike right on top of them. If there was some kind of cover for these metal buckles then this tailgate pad would be perfect. Giving this tailgate pad 4 stars only because this one area could be improved but with that being said it is the best pad on the market in my opinion from what I've seen and I've been around for awhile and seen pretty much all of the current tailgate pads out there

Just received and installed today. Quality TBD by extended use; but installation was simple, fit is near perfect on my 2019 Ford Ranger and looks great. The only downside is that my backup camera is mounted on the bottom of the Ford emblem and the handle/camera opening does not line up vertically. I basically have to forgo the notion that I'll ever enjoy full use of my camera while the pad is installed. I also wish the midsize pad covered up more of the tailgate from top to bottom like the full size (nitpicking).Criticisms aside, for the money I strongly recommend.

Bought this pad to overcome the features my old Dakine tailgate pad was lacking on a RAM 1500 4th gen (2009-2018 + Classic 2019+), so here are the pros:1-Adjustability: Compression straps to match the tailgate profile (the Ram has an arched tailgate which is thicker in the the center),2-Separating blocks prevent the bikes from sliding,3-Thick padding on the outside protects fork stanchions and the tailgate handle/camera opening is large enough to cover most pickup models.4- Great inner lining: The inner lining is super smooth and wont scratch your paint. Like any tailgate pads, you need to insure your tailgate is clean before you put it on.Now for the cons:1- The big down side is the material which is not rugged enough. Like any tailgate pads, you need to insure your tailgate is clean before you put it on.Now for the cons:1- The big down side is the material which is not rugged enough. I bought this tailgate in April 2022, used it for one season (april to november) and the PVC material is already weared out in the pocket where the downtube sits, even though we wipe mud/dust from the downtube before strapping our bikes. My previous Dakine was used for 2 seasons and didn't show any wear damages being made with 1000D heavyduty Polyester,2- Its easy to rip the raised bumpers with the crank while loading/unloading the bikes that aren't 1x and have 2 or 3 chainrings, which my teenagers have.3- Passing the straps under the tailgate is a PITA. The straps made of nylon are not rigid at all which makes it really hard to pass them under the tailgate. Again my old Dakine tailgate pad had the first 4-5 in of straps coated with polyurethane to make them rigid and help passing them through. This would be an improvement Fox should really look into.In the end, this tailgate has a great but needs to be improve to last longer. The only solution I see to overcome the durability of the material is buying a new one on sale every year and selling the old one while it's still sellable!Fox Please improve your material!
I just received the product today, I haven't gotten to use it much yet. The fit on my 06 GMC Sierra left something to be desired. While functional it is near impossible to install these perfectly on older trucks with the thinner tailgates. The tailgate pad cannot be adjusted enough to match what the install video suggests. If you have one of those newer trucks with a 5 inch thick tailgate you will be fine. That being said I still plan to keep and use it, but if I had not bought at 50 percent off for black friday I am not sure I would.
The tailgate pad in itself is awesome! It’s the first high quality pad I’ve found to fit my Jeep Gladiator due to the narrow and short tailgate. Unfortunately, the pad covers the backup camera. I feel they should put a footnote in the size chart so other Gladiator owners will be aware of the issue. I think I’ll end up cutting the bottom piece off that says Fox Racing, and try to find someone who can sew up the edges. I honestly don’t think I should have to modify a pad that is almost $200 but the only other choice I have is to return it and go without. I did bring the issue up with customer service but they had no other solution other than return it. According to them, they are unaware of anyone else having issues.
This doesn't work well with a 2021 Silverado 1500. The space between the tailgate and bed is too tight to feed the straps through. I made a little hook out of a coat hanger, still took me 15 minutes to put on. That's way too long. Will be returning. Wish they put a plastic coating on the web strapping ends to stiffen them so you can feed it upward vertically. Product feels quality, for that, I'll give some starts, but for fit, I give it one star.
This is my first tailgate pad, but I’m extremely happy with it. I was concerned getting one that kept my Yeti safe and at the same time keeping my truck and pad safe. The amount of padding is perfect. Just thick enough where no damage can happen and still gentle to the truck paint with the felt underneath.I really love that I can lock the pad and my bike up with one cable lock and also keep it obscure.I have had three bikes in it so far and they fit comfortably. The only thing I kinda wish was different was how the tailgate latch area could reconfigure without having to take the insert out but it’s not a big deal. Throw it in the truck and be done.
Like the title says, this is a pretty good pad. It features foam blocks to receive the down tuned and hold bikes in place without needing to strap them down (a big plus) and removable tailgate latch covers if you want your handle or backup cam permanently exposed. The stitching on all the seams looks rugged. It’s much nicer than the one I bought at Princess Auto. I got it on sale for $98 which is well worth it. At that price it’s 5-stars. At the full price I’d say it’s nice but up to you if you want to spend the money. In terms of better designed pads, the only one I’ve seen that I like more is the one Seth at Berm Peak uses.
Yes, I watched the FOX install video. Compared to my previous Race Face tailgate pad this is a total let down. 1. The fork stanchions rub against the pad, this is going to wear the stanchions and cost me $1,300 PER BIKE! 2. The “blocks” that are supposed to cradle the frame aren’t placed in the proper area of the pad and they really don’t hold the frame in, they just sit too low inside the tailgate flat horizontal area. 3. Where the frame does contact and where the Velcro strap is attached is going to be a MAJOR wear area. The frame doesn’t sit on a nice soft area like my last Race Face pad. The frame sits on the thick stitching of the Velcro hold down and the pad design is far from soft. The Velcro hold down straps are too short to wrap around all the frames well. 5. If not using the Velcro hold down straps the bikes just flop around and wont stay upright as they will with my old Race Face pad. I could go on with other cons but I’ll stop.Pros. It looks good. Outside of that it’s meh. I’ll be selling it second hand and getting rid of it. Stay away from this pad if you can.
