You shouldn’t have to pay out the nose in order to get a helmet that will really protect you when the worst happens. The Fox Racing Speedframe MIPS Bike Helmet comes with all the latest safety innovations but without the huge price tag. Designed for trail riding where you want good coverage but also mobility, visibility, and a low weight, the Speedframe MIPS has optimized the venting system and provides cooling channels thanks to the molded EPS interior profile. It encourages the wind to blow through, cooling your head just as things start hotting up. The MIPS impact protection system is included particularly because it has proved to be exceptionally efficient at reducing the rotational forces that you’ll generally be subject to when you crash on your head at speed. It hurts to think about, but it’s nice to know that the Speedframe MIPS helmet will be there to protect you should a crash happen. Fox Racing hasn’t ignored the practical matters either. So they have designed the adjustable visor to be goggle compatible thanks to the fact that it has a 3-position settings. And the 360° fit system makes it possible to dial in your exact fit every ride. The removable and washable pads will make sure you never feel unwanted pressure points.

This helmet is comfortable, flows a good amount of air and its light. I crashed this weekend and went over the bars while riding down a rocky trail at 20mph. I smacked the front left of my head against the ground pretty hard. I did put my palms out but not soon enough. The MIPS seemed to have helped displace some of the force too as I notice the liner was wedged into the EPS foam. I walked away bruised and scraped up with light dizziness. The light in the forest appeared slightly foggy and scattered for a good 10 minutes, but I wasn't concussed. So I can say with confidence that the Fox Speedframe protected my head from a significant head injury. So Stoked! 100% would recommend

I would make a list of pros and cons, but very seriously I have no cons. I genuinely enjoy just about everything about this helmet. I was hesitant to give it a go because I have an extremely small head. So much so that in the past I have had to default to kids sizing to find something that would fit, which usually means giving up some of the luxuries of an adult helmet such as breathability and just general quality. This fits right on par with the size chart and the adjustment system accommodates round and oval head sizes. Once locked down it passes a shake test and is pretty comfortable throughout a long ride.It gives deep enough coverage in the back to make me feel comfortable when things get spicier than intended and is plenty breathable.I also want to call ... Lightweight. Don't really feel it on your head much which us what you want. Fits well on my head. I used the dial to get the right fit and don't have to fiddle with it afterwards. Only real complaint is that that rubber part that's supposed to keep the fastening type is actually really loose and slides around pretty easily so you're constantly having to retighten the helmet every time you put it on which I suppose isn't a huge deal but it would be nice if you could just set it once and be done. I'd buy again but only on sale like i did with this. I'm a sucker for a good deal and don't usually buy anything at full retail unless I have to. This helmet at full retail is probably overpriced to be honest like most things so only buy if you can wait for a sale. At $100 or ... MoreLightweight. I bought this in the spring of 21' and rode with it all year. It fits my head extremely well, runs really cool, doesn't move around and most importantly; did it's job. I had a pretty big off at Deer Valley and ended up exploding my left wrist. I got up, dusted off, and walked to the closet lift to get down the mountain. When I got there, the paramedics seemed much more worried about my head than my clearly broken wrist. Turns out, my head bounced off a pretty sharp rock but I wasn't even aware. It left a huge dent in the backside of the helmet and broke the mount for the visor. The impact was completely absorded and left me 100% intact. I'm pretty confident my previous helmet wouldn't have handled the situation the same so thank you FOX. Fantastic product and I just ... I’ve had helmets in this price-range from Giro and Smith, all the same size. I feel like this one fits my head the best of those brands, and subtle features like the chin strap making room for your ears is actually a huge plus. I was really annoyed by my Smith helmet simply because of where the straps hit my ears, and the cinch system was constantly coming undone and loosening. The straps on this have been perfect, I haven’t thought about them once on a ride yet, and come to think of it the only time I consciously thought about having a new helmet on my head was when I got up to speed on a descent and noticed the wind flowing through the helmet onto my head, so I’d say this design is a win for me! Here’s to hoping it does it’s real job - saving my brain!
The Speedframe MIPS Bike Helmet is an amazing piece of mountain biking gear! One of the best features of the Speedframe MIPS is its exceptional comfort. The helmet is designed with a 360-degree retention system that ensures a snug and secure fit, distributing pressure evenly around your head. The visor is adjustable to three different positions and there's a Fidlock SNAP buckle, which can be operated with one hand, gloved or not. Helmet is a perfect blend of comfort, style, and safety!
This helmet has all the features that a good trail/enduro lid has along with the looks of a top tier helmet. I got the black in a size large and it fit my generally oval shaped head well front to back. It does have some extra room on the sides which means it's still a good fit if your head shape is a little rounder. The retention system wraps around your head like most helmets like this do, but this is the first one I've had that is as well padded at the front. The interior shape of the helmet felt very comfortable. The one thing I'm constantly looking for in a helmet is the ventilation. I live in Texas and having a lid that stays cool is huge. While you can't see through the helmet like I can with some of my other helmets due to their number of vents. This lid has ... While you can't see through the helmet like I can with some of my other helmets due to their number of vents. This lid has been surprisingly airy feeling. The only problem is I got the matte black and I'll be interested see how hot it gets in the blazing summer sun.Other than the black color, my only other complaint is the lack of a light/gopro mount. At this price you shouldn't expect that feature, but I do a fair amount of night riding and appreciate a solid place to mount the lights.I was really impressed with this helmet. For now it will make a great daytime trail lid. We'll see how it does when the central TX furnace kicks on.
Colour is great and looks very premium in the May finish. Visor has 3 positions even though can’t see a nut on the outside like some helmets. Very comfortable and easy to adjust to get for juts right. Nice vent on the front forehead area really helps and you can notice it. Chin strap can loosen a bit easily if you are fiddling with it but one on seems to stay just would be better if was less easy to adjust I suppose. Very happy overall great helmet. Let’s hope I don’t test it’s full potential any time soon.
In my current MTB helmet quiver, I have the Fox Dropframe, the Fox Speedframe Pro, and this Fox Speedframe - brand loyalty much?I've ridden POC, 661, Bontrager, Giro and Fox over the last few years and this helmet has quickly become my favorite. The Speedframe has an awesome fit with great back-of-head coverage and a nice visor location. It looks great with my big glasses, doesn't hold too much sweat, doesn't bounce around, and the fit dial on the back is easy to adjust with gloves.I use this for probably 80% of my MTB rides as well as commuting and my gravel rides. It's not heavy enough to warrant a gravel-specific helmet and it's stylish as an everyday lid. I use the Dropframe for the rowdier stuff where I need to feel more protected (read: ... I use this one more than my Speedframe Pro because for some reason the MIPS on that one squeaks a lot and bugs me as it bounces around a bit when I ride. For whatever reason, this one doesn't so the regular Speedframe it is!This helmet provides adequate protection for most of my riding, has a great fit, has great vents and doesn't get too hot, fits well with a skull cap under it in the colder months and comes in great colors - what more can you ask for? Thanks for caring about my brains more than I do (sometimes), Fox!
