I got a pair of these for me and my son, who is new into biking. The 3rd time he wore them we were riding and he took a crash that didn't look too major but when finally I got to him he had impaled himself on a fallen tree. The tree tip severely punctured his lower stomach but the spandex short never ripped. This kept the tree from hitting an artery and kept slivers out of the wound. The ER Dr's were convinced these shorts saved him from a serious wound or worse and he walked away with 15 stitches. I have pics but didn't want to gross anyone out. Great shorts though!

Love these biking shorts, the inner shorts w/Camino are great adding just right compression and comfort for long rides without any chaffing at all.Great length, comfortable & loose fit.Just wish there was tension strap on both sides of outer short.

These shorts fit good, But they have no zipper on the fly. It doesn't matter that much, but occasionally my fat belly will pop the snap. I am between sizes, so I sized up and use the waist adjusters almost as tight as they can go. They are stretchy in all the right ways in spite of being made out of what seems to be tougher than average fabric. They were a great price, but a zippered pocket to hold a phone or keys would be a good addition.

I ordered these in my size 32. They were NOT 32. More like 33. With no adjustment strap. I returned and had to pay for shipping. Then like an idiot I ordered a 30 and of course way to tight. I measured them yo be a 29. What a joke and I’m done. THIS IS WHY THERE ON CLOSE OUT. ALL SALES FINAL. I’m highly upset and out $$$. Geez, thanks Fox for waisting my time and money. Now I’ll have to give them away. I feel FOX should send me some sort of DISCOUNT EMAIL OF NEXT PURCHASE. Horrible experience and will never order directly. Back to Amazon which I tried to avoid in the first place. I’m not the only review like this disappointing debauchery. Oh and NO sticker came with it like it was supposed to have. What a waist of time and money. Literally!
Fit well, stretch and are breathable. Come with liner shorts that work together nicely. No zip pockets, no rear pockets. The fly has no zip or Velcro, fine for biking(probably helps ventilation) but a little strange when your wearing them out for a beer.
The length was right. The quality of the fabric is great, but the belt system didn’t work for me. I had to send 2 pair back that I really wanted to make work. I wear a 36 waist in everything in order to get some extra room through the quads, but I’m actually a 35”. There is no way to get that extra tightening at the waist with this sliding “belt” system. A simple Velcro set up would solve that problem. Also, there is no zipper or Velcro in the fly. It’s just folded over fabric, which would probably be ok normally, but I think it might sinch up the waistline a bit and alleviate some of the issues with the lack of a functioning belt for guys like me.
I really want to like these shorts as I really like everything else I have from Fox but these just missed the mark in one critical area, the snap closure. The fit is great, the material feels durable and light, the length is nice but the shorts open for almost no reason. I have popped them open getting on my bike, getting off of my bike, while riding my bike, getting out of my car, closing my car door, opening my car door, taking a deep breath, exhaling, thinking too hard, etc. It's remarkable how poorly the snap closure works. I rarely wear them due to this issue. Save yourself some frustration and find shorts with a button closure or wait until Fox fixes this issue before buying them. I'm 5' 8" and weigh 160 lbs and wear a medium.
This is the more recent iteration of this classic short. These have an adjustment on the right side for waist sizing. Make sure to check the Fox fit guide...usually you need to order below your jean size (36" in pants= size 34 in these shorts). No cargo pocket, but deep slash pockets. Decent inner short and liner.
I got these to replace my older Ranger shorts. The fit was so much nicer. Not baggy like the older pair so they don’t get caught on the end of the saddle when you have to move around on. The fabric is tough but svelte and stylish, like you could actually wear them somewhere other than the trail. I remove the padded shorts inside because I would rather wear bib shorts instead (much more comfortable). Are these available without the liner? I would rather buy those. Awesome shorts! You’re definitely getting your money’s worth!! Happy Trails
