The ranger shorts are as described and shown in the pictures with the Fox logo on the left leg. They are true to size, comfortable and have zipped side pockets. They are lighter weight than other MTB shorts, trim fitting and not baggy. Feel good on and allow good movement on the bike. I have tried them on several rides and I am very happy with the purchase.

The Ranger line has been around for a long time because they work. The shell fits with the perfect balance of snug and flex for riding. The closure system is unique, but works well when you’ve got it dialled in. A zipper fly would be nice, but just for familiarity, because they close well with just the snap. After a few rides, they seem durable, and the casual style is nice on and off the bike. The liner with chamois isn’t high end, but it’s better than nothing and does a great job for short rides. Overall, an excellent pair of shorts at a good price point; I recommend them.

These are my second pair, the first I bought at my LBS, then I saw these on an Alti Sale…it was an instant purchase. The fabric is a lightweight, 2 way stretch, breathable ripstop fabric, I’ve ridden in temperatures between 16-36c and they’ve been very comfortable, the waistband is both perforated and padded to absorb sweat and prevent chafing, these Ranger shorts also have YKK zips and decent sized pockets that easily keep my iPhone 13 pro in place. The colour is nothing like the image (luckily) they are more of a warm grey or dry clay colour, perfect on the dusty trails I ride. They also come with a good quality liner chamois, It is thin but very well designed and does the job for me.What really swayed me was the fit and the waist adjustment, I’m usually a 36, ... MoreThese are my second pair, the first I bought at my LBS, then I saw these on an Alti Sale…it was an instant purchase. With other Fox shorts I was either squeezed into a 34 or loose in a 36, with these I have a good range of adjustment. Lastly, even though they fit my knee pads fine, they aren’t massively baggy around the knee, great.Would also like to thank the staff at altitude for help with a previous order, they’re the best online company I’ve dealt with, thank you

Bought one pair and after one ride, immediately bought another. Liner is good for a couple of hours ride but not complete days in the saddle. Wonder how the short will last after a couple of rides since the fabric is very stretchy but not really thick.By the way, occasionally use this short for hicking as well.Size is ok, I am a 33 and bought a 34. Fits like a glove.
Perfect fit. Inner padded shorts are a great bonus. These alone would cost about 20 quid. So with that in mind they are great value. They have an adjustable strap too to make them tighter if you find them loose. Great short. All I will buy from now on.
I've been using Fox Ranger shorts for many years now. What I like most about this current version is the integrated belt and the material. At one time the Ranger belt system included a hook that was cumbersome to use so this newer system works a lot better for me. I also like the lighter material they're using as it doesn't feel as bulky. I only wish these had a small cargo pocket or similar on the side. I used that a lot on my previous shorts.
These are great shorts, the liner/pad are one of my favorites in all the short/liner sets I've purchased over the years. The liner short these came with have a 3-d chamois that is really comfortable. The shorts fit well overall and are lightweight enough for me to use in hot Texas summers. The only thing I would like to see Fox add is the waist band be a little flexible. You can adjust these to your size though using the internal routed belt. I'm 5'9" 160lbs 31in waist, and the 30s fit me great. The pockets are zippered which is nice, but I would only carry food in them, not really big enough for a phone. Overall if you can get these on sale they are a great pair.
The Ranger short from Fox is a great functional bike short. The short is comfortable to wear with or without the included liner. The liner offers just enough cushion to make the ride comfortable. Two large zipper pockets on the leg means you can carry your phone and wallet without worrying about them falling out. I usually wear a 31 to 32 inch waist so I bought the 32. If you are a 32 and a bit I would recommend going for the 34 inch waist and using the adjustments to snug the fit.
These are bike shorts. Don’t care what you say. Educate yourself on what real riding shorts are. All “real” riding shorts come with the chamois as I like to say gooch shorts. It doesn’t matter if they are sewn in or attached. Some come with some come without as “shell” some come with as “with liner”. I will say $100 a pair is moderately steep but I have seen a few a bit more expensive. They feel pretty comfortable and solid material. The gooch liner is pretty comfortable as well. Go Home Sal
I feel like the liners that come with the size 42 and 44 Ranger shorts are way too big in comparison to the shorts themselves. The size 42 shorts fit well around my 43” waist but the liners are super loose on me. Sadly, I can't return just the liner and Fox does not offer any Ranger shorts above size 40 that don't come with liners, and I really like the shorts. I want to order a size 40 liner by itself, but Fox does not offer liners in numerical sizes when you order a liner stand-alone without the shorts. The sizes available when liners are ordered stand-alone are alpha sizes S Small, M Medium, L Large, XL, XXL ... etc... instead of numeric. It's kind of confusing. Once I find Fox gear in the right sizes… it always performs well for me... so I still give the gear ... MoreI feel like the liners that come with the size 42 and 44 Ranger shorts are way too big in comparison to the shorts themselves. I just wish Fox would standardize the sizing across the shorts and liners… and offer the numeric sized liners separately.
