The Speedframe Pro MTB Helmet is a serious piece of gear. Ripping through the rocks, sending it off steep chutes, charging through berms - do it all with absolute confidence. The Dual-density Varizorb EPS core takes impact absorption to a whole new level, spreading out those forces and keeping your head super safe during those wild slams. And, with the added bonus of MIPS, you can ride knowing you've got next-level protection from rotational forces too. Trust us, this helmet is an absolute must-have for any serious rider out there.

I ordered the Speedframe Pro Dvide in Orange on August 8th, 2024. When the helmet arrived a few days later I noticed that the manufacturing date was December, 2021, over 2.5yrs earlier. I reached out to Fox customer service to see if I could exchange for a newer helmet and received an automated reply stating I’d have to file a warranty claim. With helmets having a 3-5yr lifespan, I’m certainly disappointed to receive a helmet that’s already past its halfway point. Had I known I was getting a 2021 model helmet I likely would not have ordered it.

I am solidly a Medium per Fox sizing chart and wear M in other brands (e.g., Smith) too, and this lid fits very well. This is my first fuller coverage helmet (and first MIPS) and I have found it to be quite comfortable and lightweight. I didn't think I would care about the fidlock buckle, but it is nice to have and makes on/off easier when wearing gloves. Haven't gone out on any super long rides, but I can't see it irritating me or being uncomfortable in any way.On compatibility with glasses: I ride with cheap Amazon glasses. The arms of the glasses are quite long and did hit the helmet behind the ear. It didn't cause major problems, but because the glasses are so cheap and came with extra arms, I lopped off the last 1cm or so with wirecutters and there is no ... MoreI am solidly a Medium per Fox sizing chart and wear M in other brands (e.g., Smith) too, and this lid fits very well. If you have nicer glasses I would check compatibility before you head out on trail. I have found it possible to stash the glasses under the visor in such a way that they stay securely when I'm not wearing them, but it's a little fiddly and tough to do while pedaling.

I got this helmet based on many positive reviews and have only been somewhat happy, I wore it mountain biking exclusively for at least a year thru all the temps one experiences in western Montana. The helmet itself is very comfy and feels light on my head. My dissatisfaction comes from even during early morning MTB rides when it's cool out, I noticed I was getting pretty hot and my head was sweating like crazy during hillclimbs. The other thing I noticed was the helmet didn't vent hardly at all as speed increased, say on the flats or downhill sections. I mean I couldn't feel any cooling at all especially compared to other older helmets I have which weren't fit to continue wearing from a safety standpoint. Now I only wear the Speedframe when I am commuting or ... MoreI got this helmet based on many positive reviews and have only been somewhat happy, I wore it mountain biking exclusively for at least a year thru all the temps one experiences in western Montana. Lightweight, comfortable and well constructed. Most bike helmets I’ve owned in the past, have been uncomfortable, hot, poor fitting and left me wanting to leave them in my garage. Which defeats the whole purpose of protection. The Fox feels like I’m wearing my favourite Baseball Cap. The magnetic strap makes it easy to buckle up and remove. Highly recommended.
I've bought several bike helmets, and this is my co-favorite. First reason, it was ranked among the safest helmets in the Virginia Tech study, which seems to be the most carefully designed and executed test of bike helmets I've seen. Second, it is one of a very few I've found with a visor long enough to offer some protection against being blinded by the sun in the late afternoon hours when I prefer to ride. Third, I think it looks good. The orange is really bright and is a more effective high-viz color than the yellow-green standard in warm weather because it's a better contrast with the lush greenery in my riding environment. Like most helmets, it's rather minimally padded, and I had to stick on a couple of small pads to cover the plastic rivets that anchor the MIPS liner, since they created pressure points against my buzz cut head. I'll probably add some padding in a couple other places, but other than that, I'm satisfied with the helmet.
I just got this helmet recently and I can tell it is going to be awesome. The only hiccup I have is that I accidentally got one that was too big! Putting it on it felt super light and comfortable and the straps went nicely around my ears without rubbing them. I absolutely loved the Fidlock magnetic buckle too! The shape of the helmet was really nice and I can tell that when I get the next size down it will be awesome. Wish I could say more on how it felt while I was riding with it but I haven't had the opportunity to yet! I'll update my review once I am able to! I got the Large and I have a 58.5 Cm head, it was barely too big and I could move the shell around my head. Size chart says that the Large starts at 59 CM and the Medium ends a 58 CM so I know the medium ... MoreI just got this helmet recently and I can tell it is going to be awesome. It is super comfy and doesn't look bulky on my head! Can't wait to put it to the test on bike!
Love my new helmet! Thinking I needed a large, so I bought one and it was too big. Returned it and bought a medium and it fits perfect, super comfortable and the ventilation is great! The magnetic chin connector is so easy to use as well. You can truly use it one handed with gloves on. The looks of the speedframe pro sharp and modern looking too. Typical nice Fox product.
I bought this helmet for the brand reputation and looks, the dual-density foam, and it felt good in store. When I got home and tried to fit it, I realized the Y-junction of the strap on each side is completely non-adjustable. This means this junction is a full inch or more below my ear. Even with the strap snug, this allows too much play between helmet and head. Another unfortunate design issue is the visor does not readily come off so you will always have to ride with the visor even when it does not make sense to do so.
Helmet seems okay but Fox sizing design and BC needs to improve sizing listing.Backcountry -- sizing for the speedframe is not in the sizing chart button (other Fox model helmets are) so I had to go elsewhere to get the proper size chart.Fox -- other helmet makers design their sizes to overlap so medium ends at 58cm and large starts at 57cm. For speedframe 59cm is the upper end of M and lower end of L, which is exactly what my head measured. I thought there'd be some wiggle room but nope, large was just a bit loose with my hair short. If I was a couple weeks late on my haircut the L might fit but then the M won't! Overlap your size ranges by 1cm and everyone can find a helmet size that works. If your head measures in middle of their sizing range, go for it!
I have about 4 rides on my mt. bike with this helmet. I bought the med size, (normally wear 7 1/8 motorcycle helmet, head measures close to 21" around), and it fits very well. The wheel adjustment in the back, is connected to a full ring "plastic wire"), so it feels very snug, comfortable and secure, when snugged up.I wanted good ventilation living in SoCal, and I especially liked the forehead vent, (which few others have). Decent padding that, so far, has stayed in place. The Fidlock system is "fiddly", I'm still getting the hang of it, sometimes it's super easy to close or open, others not, I think I'd prefer the old buckle type. I'm sure once used to it, (especially wearing full-finger gloves), it will be convenient. Not really a place to slip sunglasses on top, ... MoreI have about 4 rides on my mt. bike with this helmet. I'm sure once used to it, (especially wearing full-finger gloves), it will be convenient. Not really a place to slip sunglasses on top, as vents are too close together, don't wear goggles, so unable to comment on that. The Mips system is obvious on it's "independence from the shell", so I'm glad I have this feature. You can also see the different layers of foam in the construction. Not as light as my Spec road helmet, of course, but I really haven't noticed the weight on 3 hr. challenging rides, (25 miles w 2,400 ft. of gain & loss). My local bike shop had a white one in my size, but it came with White straps, (did not want to deal w cleaning on those), so I purchased the sage light, matte green, which does have a red section in the back, (for those times when on the road). Being picky, the Mips sticker was a bit crooked on the back, (I removed it), as is the small fox face, not a big deal, but noticeable, (fyi, I added a couple extra strips to mine in photos). The visor has several indents, moves easily, but it secure, (can't see a need for the higher setting, at this time). All in all, I'm happy with this helmet, feel secure with the very good coverage, fit, design and construction.
