I went to Mecca to buy another fragrance and the wonderful sales person suggested that I try this - and wow! I like musky orientals and this is anything but that, but it is beautiful. The initial fresh basil develops to that lily/jasmine mix but still with the green base. It's not like Carnal Flower at all, to me it smells fresh. I used this fragrance this morning at 8am, flew for 2 hours in a plane, drove for 2 hours in a car and now at 8pm, it still smells fresh and lovely. I love this, whenever I wear it, it cheers me up!

Tried this on a Sali Hughes recommendation this summer, and so glad I did. It smells so fresh, grown up & sexy, without being too heavy to be an evening fragrance. Great staying power, like all Frederick Malle fragrances. Definitely try it, you won’t regret it.

I tried this on in store today and had to go back to purchase it. It’s such a fresh green floral. Nothing is too over powering and the longevity is solid. If you are a fan of Lys Mediterranee, you’ll love this.
I am a fan of Frederic Malle's fragrance. I own portrait, carnal, musc ravageur, and promise,. I bought promise over the phone and asked the sales person to give me samples of any that I don't have. Well she gave me the sample for Lys med., and synthetic jungle. Why I loved Lys medit, it wasn't complex enough. I tried synthetic jungle and did not know I'd like it so much. It is earthy but not sickly earthy or sweet. It is the perfect green fragrance. Let me tell you that 10 minutes after I sprayed, I was on the phone to same Mecca store paying for synthetic jungle with the call and collect option. I loved this and have received comments from colleagues. I am a nurse and to still get compliments after a 9 hour shift is ridiculously amazing
Bought this when it first got the store while in search for a new scent as current L’ombre Dans L’eau running low. For someone who likes florals without the sickingly sweet tones this hits the spot. A little goes a long way compared to other green/fresh scents.
Well blended fragrance where the jasmine doesn’t over power the green notes, it’s well balanced and easily a unisex fragrance. The top notes of galbanum and basil remind me of RL Safari for women but without the powdery or dusty dry down. Instead I noticed the base notes remain quite linear with basil, maybe vetiver (something that reminds me of crushed leaf) with a balanced jasmine and magnolia . Projection is quite good and lasts well on the skin although this may vary from person to person. This really is a great fragrance if you are into green, fresh and slightly floral perfumes.
Kermit said its not easy being green. And I think this is especially true of perfume.You have to really enjoy green scents to appreciate this one. BUT if you do - wow this is BEAUTIFUL!It smells like walking through a warm greenhouse full of vines and a faint sweetness as if crushing some flowers under your feet. It would be lovely to wear on a warm evening and would say is quite a unisex fragrance.The drydown on me is quite 'clean' smelling - not quite powdery but in that realm.
A spring/summer perfume in my opinion. It smells fresh and slightly ‘wet’ (in a good way). My favourite Fredric Malle is Portrait of a Lady but Synthetic Jungle is a close second. I did find the scent didn’t linger as long as PoaL but I would buy again.
I found Synthetic Jungle very, VERY masculine, like an eau de cologne. In general, I don't like masculine scents, so this is one of them. Sorry!
