This versatile Magnetic Variable ND Filter System from Freewell includes a 77mm magnetic base ring and several magnetic filters that attach to the base. You get a variable ND2 to ND5 filter and variable ND6 to ND9 filter. Then there are the mist editions of these, the variable ND2 to ND5 and variable ND6 to ND9 mist filters. You also get a 1/8-grade glow mist filter, which softens lens flare and provides light diffusion over the entire image area, reducing saturation for a softer, more pastel effect. The bundle additionally includes an ND32/CPL filter, a standard CPL filter, a lens cap (also magnetic), a microfiber cleaning cloth, and a protective case. The filters feature multicoated glass optics and magnetic metal frames.

The filters are very well built and worth the investment. That being said, if I were to buy them again, I would recommend purchasing them separately. When you get it as a set, they only give one cover so you're paying the same price as buying them separately but getting less. Go figure.

I originally bought the 67mm Freewell VND System; however, I was going to have to buy a different size for each of my lenses. That would be a nightmare!!! I sold the 67mm Filter System on eBay and bought this 95mm Version, and I am much happier! I am going to buy another 95mm set so that I have a backup. I use step-up rings for my lenses. This is not a downside, because even if you use a 67mm Freewell System on a 67mm Lens you still can't use the lens cap or a matte box.You should buy the 95mm Nisi Filter Case, and the 112mm Haida Case, because Freewell Can't make a Filter Case.I also bought a Freewell 95mm 10-stop Quick Swap Filter, a 1/8 Mist Quick Swap Filter, and a 1/4 Mist Quick Swap Filter.I didn't like all the junk Freewell Sent me! Really Clever design! It let's me have a 1-Stop ND Base, 2-5 Stop VND, 6-9 Stop VND and 1-Stop Diffusion-Mist ND Base, Diff-Mist 2-5 VND, Diff-Mist 6-9 VND. A Circular-Polarizer, and a ND32, (5-stop), Circular-Polarizer. One more thing: It let's me have No Filters attached! Sometimes this is the correct choice for your shot.
The options with this system are great. I have the 82mm for my biggest lens, and use a step down ring for my other lenses. I also bought a separate base ring and separate lens cap so I can just have them live on the lenses when I use them, and swap lenses quicker. The case is also really nice. It protects your filters very well, and it's super easy to get filters out. The guy taking a star off because of the case is absolutely silly. If you want your filters to be loose, good luck. Every filter I've ever had that's loose ends up in the garbage after it cracks. I've traveled all over the world with this case and it's been perfect.
Build quality is excellent, filter markings are very helpful and appear accurate, ring turns firmly and I like this, warranty is fantastic, reason for the one star, image quality is terrible. Tested on a Nikon D 850, with a Nikon 24-70 G ED F2.8. At 24mm, using stops between 6 and 9 the images showed marked non-uniform (much darker in one corner than the others) vignetting, along with a very bluish cast in that same area. For me, these are not acceptable and they will be returned. I currently use B & W XS Pro solid ND filters and was hoping for a bit more convenience, but not at this degree of image sacrifice. Sorry, I really did want to like these.
Gave it 4 stars because of the case... the filters are too tight inside and they are hard to pull off and put back quickly. I'll buy the nomatic filter case as it seems much more convenient. Other than that, these filters live to their YouTube reviews, they are extremely well built almost no colour cast and they are very quick to change. I also ordered the magnetic step up rings and still waiting on them to arrive...
I wish I could upload pictures. The base ring has some wear on the thread, and the base filter has a spot that I can't clear. It must be some impure substance in the glass. The idea of the design is great, it's functional and compact, better than all other filter designs in my opinion. I really wish they are better quality.
We bought two of these to go along with our R5Cs. Some three months in my wife fell with the camera in hand. The magnet didn't hold the cap or the VND on to the filter system. The soft glass on the circular polarizer got scratched while the camera and lens were fine.I contacted Freewell to purchase a new circular polarizer, but they refuse to sell one to me. They instead wanted me to send the circular polarizer to China at our expense where they would charge me somewhere between $50-$100 to replace the glass. They never did give me an exact price. But what Freewell really tried to do was upsell me in to an entirely new system and even upsell me in to a K2 system. We've used B+W and Breakthrough filters for years before trying this new approach and are ... MoreWe bought two of these to go along with our R5Cs. It hits a price point, but know that if you have a problem you will be on your own. 3 months after purchase we have a $400 paper weight.
The Freewell Magnetic Filter system is a great filter system. The whole kit is small enough that it easily packs into my messenger bag or backpack. In comparison to drop in filters is much easier to use in the field.
