I think it’s awesome for the most special of special moments but beyond that, if you’re interested in Polaroids based off the film look.. save your pennies and invest into a digital film camera. I think if you plan to use the camera a lot, it’s unsustainable due to how much the film is. Like after 600 photos you’d have paid the price for a digital film camera on the cheaper side. Also important to note, from here on out I will not use the shipping option from Best Buy. They use too big of boxes with a comical (in a scary way) amount of safety packaging for expensive breakable objects. This is a great little camera for taking instant fun photos.I bought this for my gran daughter to take on holiday to Fiji and to be able to make a diary with candid photos.She is 7 and it’s easy to load the film cartridge, close the camera and take photos. It’s fun when they come out instantly and make doing the diary instant too!Solid and stable but lightweight enough for children.The print has good colour and self adjusts so it focuses.Colour is lovely and perfectly matches the case that can be bought separately.Most importantly she loves it too. Cheapest way to buy film is in packs of 10.

I love the built in selfie mirror and I love the fact that the viewfinder corrects the parallax mode which means you don’t have to take the photo a little off center in order for the picture to be centered. Polaroids of my first cat would tend to come out blurry but I used it to document my new sphynx’s in my life and was pleasantly surprised with the crisp quality of the image. (I will include a picture of the photo in this review.) I miss the option to choose the lighting setting from the mini 8. but in reality there really isn’t much of a difference. It’s always gonna be a surprise in the end and that’s the fun of it! I like that with the rollout of the mini 12 the introduced an instax app so you can scan all your instax images! This is something they were behind on compared to Polaroid. Nothing compares to my Polaroid Now camera. Which you can connect to the app and set the shutter speed/lighting/color tones and even control the self timer from the app on top of “scanning” your images. Can even take double exposure photos and nothing compares to the iconic square size of the photos! But when it comes to Fuji, I def recommend the Instax Mini 12 to photography enthusiasts and those just trying to capture all the little moments unedited and one of a kind, alike!
Don’t be tempted to buy this camera bundle for a child or even an absolute novice adult photographer. My mistake on every level. For a child (11 year old or less) it’s too big and heavy and is an absolute waste of money while the user practices to take shots. Forget about add on cost of batteries! The film packages are expensive and a waste of money eg blank shots, shots of the sky, shots of the floor….the list is endless. I sooo wish I had researched more. Nearly £100 on a useless, expensive, disappointing product. Is it too late to get my money back, for the two I bought for my nieces?
I loooove this camera!I’ve never owned my own camera before so I figured this was a great jumping off point and boy it didn’t disappoint.I have taken 18 pictures so far over the course of 2 days and none have come out looking bad at all, other than slightly blurry but that was due to my own learning curves after never owning a camera. I watched loads of YouTube videos after getting it as well, which I highly recommend if you need some beginner tips!If you have been contemplating this camera, please buy it! I waited 3 years to just keep deciding if I wanted to take the risk, my boyfriend couldn’t take it anymore and surprised me for Christmas.You will not be disappointed.
