I have the most fun when I meet people for the first time. After dialing WAY down on my use of electronics, ie, switching to a “dumb” phone; using a GPS, even writing letters and cards to catch up with friends and family, I missed the camera feature of my smart phones. I considered disposable cameras and prints when my daughter suggested an “instant” print camera. I did a little research and bought a Fuji instax mini. I rarely get turned down. I have practiced enough with the features that the photos are more appealing and not so much of a surprise as to the outcome. I have very limited photography expertise, but am really having fun with this camera. The rechargeable battery is an especially beneficial feature. It is a very affordable, fun, and unique way to capture memories in thIs world of smart phones. I am enjoying this far more than I could have expected.

It’s not like those old time instant cameras where your pictures printed instantly whether it was a good or and your film got waste plus you could save your pictures. Delightful surprise

I have been in a rut lately so I purchased a Polaroid Now+ when I was in Stockholm to dig my way out. Sometimes a change of pace helps. I have had some fun with it - but the image quality is awful. Not sure if it is the film, the camera, or the combo. I decided I'd try a couple of Fujis (since I have been shooting GFX for a few years and formerly shot X cams) including an Instax Square and this Mini 90. WOW. This is a great little camera.There is enough here to keep things entertaining including the ability to change flash modes as well as tweak some camera settings. There is a useful self-timer and a macro mode that actually works. You can also do double exposure, some custom exposure with a pseudo compensation, and even some flash adjustment. Most importantly - the image quality is great. Clear focus, great colors + good contrast and tones on the black and white film. The pics develop FAST and the WYSIWYG viewfinder is actually WYSIWYG.There are a couple of minor nits and things I'd like to have (it is after all NOT a cheap camera). Nothing to knock it below 5 stars though.- Give me an app that gives me some manual control like the Polaroid Now+ (which is a great app) so I am not working on a tiny LCD and hoping for the best- Strap is very good - but also needed. This is not a very grippable camera if you have bigger hands. I'd buy another with a little more purposeful ergonomics. The plastic is textured which means it isn't slippery - there just isn't enough surface to get a good grip.That is it. Love this thing. It kickstarted my creative juices. I can see this eventually getting set aside and not touched for awhile and then getting dusted off and used for fun like all of my old film cams. Definitely a keeper.

This is such a fun camera to have and play around with. In most cases, the quality of the image is very good (note that dark colors come out less saturated, probably because due to the instantaneous one-step process, it is impossible to wash out metallic silver from the image — so, in fact, this is a color image superimposed on black and white if I understand the process correctly. And this gives its own zest: as in the case of Polaroids from the nineties, Instax photo cards have unique color rendering, making them special. And it's excellent!

I am a big fan of Instax camera and it’s a welcome addition to any party to take on the spot pictures and delivered immediately. The first thing one would notice is that this camera is different than the regular Instax camera available which are in pretty colors like pink etc. It’s more of the old style Analog look but still very stylish!!I have got it for my 10 year old and she is a very big photography enthusiast. She is already in love with her new camera and is trying to master all the controls including the Instax app which can be downloaded on your mobile. The camera has lot of features and it’s really cool to try and learn them. Hey you- it's sooo worth it!

I had previously bought the Instax Wide 300 and loved the picture size, but it is way too clunky to carry around, so I rarely used it. I was about to go on vacation and longed for the old style pictures - simple tangible pictures instead of having thousands on a phone. It has the most options, like: you can turn off flash, bulb exposure mode which enables you to shoot pictures at night or in the dark, macro mode, kid mode (because kids don't stay still), and landscape mode for subjects far away (like mountains). Using bulb exposure mode saved my picture when the indoor location where I was shooting was too dark. I used bulb mode on my second attempt at a photo and it came out pretty good (very important tip: make sure you keep the camera really still - like use a tripod or a ledge or something)! I would so recommend this camera! The joy of taking one picture and it coming out immediately and you keeping it forever is supreme! So for whoever reading this - if you want to go old school and bring back some of that instant, simpler-time magic, do it! Instant, with thoughts of its own

Well...this product is not "better than expected," it is just AS expected, but I wasn't given that option. Similarly, I have no idea how reliable it is- I've only had it for a few days. The image quality is variable and so from a 'professional' point of view not good...arguably. But that's what I like about instant photography, that's why I got this camera; for unpredictability, for instant surprises. That said, there is much more control available with this camera than there was with my long-gone Polaroid SX70. Kind of next generation. I like that, I've dropped one star for build quality. If you're looking for a camera that faithfully records what's in front of it, you'll most likely be happier with a DSLR - or your smartphone. But if a relationship with a machine with thoughts of its own excites you, getone of these.

The LCD screen on the back is the same size as the images print out, which is a nice feature.
