This is a great camera. It's small but packed with features and controls. Image quality is amazing 24mp. It's very easy to use . Focusing is quick and can use a full array of Fuji lens. The only thing I don't like is the fact that in bright sunlight the screen is hard to see, it does not have an eye level view finder.

Defective

This started to freeze withing the first few weeks I used it. When frozen it would not power off and that battery had to be removed to resolve the issue. On several occasions when the timer was used to take group photos the screen would jump and a pink bar would appear across the lower fifth of the screen. The resulting photos were not at all in focus. I enjoyed this camera the couple days that it worked. I have sent it back and will be receiving a replacement. Fingers crossed that the next camera is not defective.

Fascinating little camera!

I have always owned Fuji smaller cameras because of the convenience of carrying them when we travel. Then I purchased Fuji S1 and did not like it at all. BUT this little surprise will work out just fine. The X-A5 mirrorless camera is fairly light and the ability to change lenses works out great for travel. We also purchased a telephoto lens for it. I believe it is a Fujifilm XF 55-200mm (83-300mm) F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS Lens. LOVE IT!!!!! LOVE IT!!! Big trip to Italy coming up so that will be the defining moment.. To capture it ALL!!!

Fujifilm X-A5 Compact But Full Features
31 March 2021

Easy to use and small enough to carry around when out walking, the X-A5 is great for landscape photography, though I haven't had chance to do portraits yet. Recommend taking time to go through all settings and maybe watch a few tutorials. The thumbwheels are easy to use when in manual mode to alter setting while setting up shot. The built in filters allow you to choose a large variety of colour/ b&w options. Pictures are crisp and full of detail and colour.

Just an amazing camera. A purchase that is not only worth but just the right one. It has a lot of film simulations.

Mixed feelings
20 June 2018

I bought this camera with the intent of taking photos of my artwork. I have some experience with cameras, having been a videographer and long-time hobby photographer, but confess I'm not as up to date as I really need to be for today's digital world. There are things I like and don't like about this camera. I like the white balance function, to better achieve the correct color of my artwork without having to wait until I can open the file in the computer. I like that it has so many ISO options, and that the view screen is pretty large. I don't like the zoom ring, it's not sensitive enough at the outset, and then as you hold it, it suddenly zooms really fast. That's frustrating. I also don't like that the resolution is so low - 72ppi. I wouldn't have bought it if I'd ... MoreI bought this camera with the intent of taking photos of my artwork. I also don't like that the resolution is so low - 72ppi. I wouldn't have bought it if I'd seen that anywhere; I thought the 24mp image size meant a higher ppi, but no. I kept it because the large size files are adequate for print-on-demand, and that's what I wanted right away...unfortunately, I'll have to find another way to get archive-quality files, not an easy thing to do with large paintings. Anyway, like I said, I have mixed feelings, so I can't recommend or not recommend, it just depends on what you want.

New camera as replacement.
4 March 2020

I have always bought Fujfilm cameras over the years, and this is the best yet for my needs, particularly as it has an increased number of pixels over my previous model S9400W. The performance so far look s excellent, and the camera is very easy to use and quite light compared with cameras I have had before. I would recommend this camera to anybody who requires a point and shoot camera, but with many additional features.

Review of X-A5 Mirrorless Camera with FUJINON XC 15-45 mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ Lens
31 January 2019

Good Points: Light, compact, easy to use.Good enough quality of photos for the price. Audio for video not as bad as some ppl say. Good enough for armature use. Very practical. Like the dials. It was the best deal price.Improvement Points: Some artistic effects not as good as my old Olympus pen, such as toy camera. I do post edit myself so not big deal but maybe it's not suitable for just for fun use. More like entry level practice camera? Not sure how to use optical zoom...

Review of X-A5 Mirrorless Camera with FUJINON XC 15-45 mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ Lens - Brown
13 January 2020

Good Points: Picture isnt too bad for the price.Improvement Points: Loads! Brought it online and didnt get to actually look at it first, isnt as easy as it says it it. Not built the best (screen and microphone port get in the way). Wrong colour arrived, its all plastic not leather.
