It's velvia. It expires in less than 6 weeks though. I figured buying from a major retailer I'd get fresh film, but not so.Does B&H refrigerate the film? I'm guessing not. Very disappointing.

Just acquired a Hasselblad 500 C/M and ran a roll of Ilford FP4 B&W film through the camera. Was really excited to see how a color film would perform. I have known about Velvia 50's reputation as a truly saturated color film. Bought a 5 pack and love the results.

This is a film I have only shot once, and it was a test roll to learn how to shoot it. Advice from twitter was to shoot for the highlights (I don't usually shoot slide film). As it was a test roll for me, I shot both shadows and highlights, and the twitter crowd are right (well of course they are, they're the most knowledgable bunch about film I've ever met).I used this for a sunset in the New Forest and WOW when it works, it works! It realy seems to pick up the warmer tones and turns some of the coolish tones a little more purple, but ultimately I like the look. I'm going to have to stock up on some of this becuase for the right situation, it is gorgeous! I'd argue it is probably lends it self to landscapes, but to be honest I don't subscribe to the "This film is ... Great price for slide film, but is very close to outdated as received. They responded with offer to refund our money. Decided to freeze it since supplies have been "iffy" lately. Will also try ektachrome. B&H has been great as always for us.
First time using Velvia 50 but I have been a huge fan of Fujifilm colour film for a while, and this one seriously does not disappoint! The tones of the film are really beautiful and it has photographed the Spring colours beautifully, really brings out the pinks of the blossom trees. Contrast is also really soft and almost calming. Will definitely invest in another roll in the future!
I'd handled 35mm slides before, but awesome as they are, they don't beat medium format for impact. It just looks so real... hyper-real in fact. Obviously, being a slow reversal stock, this is not exactly an all-rounder, but if you can get your exposures right the results are absolutely worth the effort. Mine is just going to be staying in the fridge a bit longer until I sort myself out a better light meter!
I started shooting Velvia when Kodachrome 25 went away. Velvia was and as I just found out is still my favorite color film. I started shooting film again when COVID came in 2020. I waited till now to give Velvia 50 a try. The results were exactly as I remembered. Those colors and the ultra fine details are what make Velvia so special. I wasn't exactly precise with metering and the results show this film to be way more forgiving that people give it credit for.
It's by far my favorite film stock out. I've used Velvia, E100, Astia, E100VS to name a few and every time I use Provia 100, I get the colors I'm looking for. Almost spot on when it comes to landscape photography. Super fine grain and very versatile. If you want a slide film that gives great color and room to wiggle with exposure then this is it. Give it a try!
This film produces wonderfully bright, saturated colors in your photos. The 120 size film enlarges easily from my Fuji 6x9 camera to a print size of 16x24 or even 20x30 inches. Don't let another pretty sunset go by without capturing it on Fuji's RVP 50.
there's a certain hyper-real feel I get with slide film; it's both bright & true to life yet muted at the same time. so very calming. it's a little tricky to come by but so worth it.
