I have been using Sony for a long time but was looking for something smaller and more affordable that would give me that analog feel. This is a great compromise if you cant get your hands on the x100v, with the added bonus that you arent limited to a single focal length. I feel like working with a Fuji camera has forced me to become more picky about the settings Im using and how I was the final picture to look artistically, which is totally different than how Im used to thinking. Im really enjoying playing with this awesome camera.

The X-T30 has been reviewed in detail in Imaging Resource, and I agree with all of the praise that reviewer gave the camera. Fortunately, memory cards are pretty reliable these days and I back up images fanatically, so I'm not too concerned, particularly because (again) this isn't my primary camera. There's also a third issue that the owner's manual doesn't mention or give information to fix, but for which Fuji tech support was able to give me the fix over the phone in about 5 seconds. On the X-T30, the LCD screen darkens after several seconds. There's an easy fix; adjust the power settings so that the camera is in boost mode. That increases power usage (always carry plenty of spare batteries), but keeps the LCD screen at the proper brightness. More of a flaw with the owner's manual than the camera.Overall, I really like this camera, especially as a backup/second camera, and knowing what I know after taking it out into the field a few times, I'd buy it again despite the issues I've pointed out.

Better quality than the Micro Four-thirds sensor.I've used several Panasonic Lumix cameras (including GX7 & GX8) and I prefer the Fuji for ergonomics, build and especially capabilities.I originally purchased the Nikon Z50 with the FT adaptor (I'm a long time Nikon film and Digital SLR user) although a nice little camera, I was disappointed in the ergonomics and kit lens and the expense to upgrade to better lens. Also with the FT adaptor, be sure to verify it works with your specific older Nikon lens, because it did not work with all my Nikon lens. So I returned the Z50 and purchased the Fuji X-T30 and was blown away by the quality, handling and build of this camera compared to the Z50.As for the size, I did not feel it was too small, especially after adding the handgrip. As a reference, I compared its size (with the hand grip on) to one of my Nikon film cameras (FM2) and as for the width, the X-T30 was only about 3/4" smaller while the body was about half the size front to back and the height was about the same. As a result it felt very comfortable and familiar in my hands.The Essentials add-on kit is an excellent choice and includes a high quality Domke case along with common filters, etc.If your in the market for a compact, full featured camera with a great lens system, you should take a serious look at the Fuji X-T30.

The menu system is cleaner and easier to find things and the lenses I purchased feel high quality. Got this for my wife. She loves using. Although a bit intimidating at first, you can use full auto to point and shoot. Tremendous amount of features for this price point. This camera looks great, gets complimented and is built very well. Battery life is about as good as you'd expect and USBC charging is quick. We like that you get so many options to play around with as you learn. Only minor downfall is no 60fps and a rather short time limit on video. After all, this isn't geared towards video. Highly recommend.

When comparing lense systems, it seemed like the Sony lenses were more expensive, and bulkier than the Fuji’s. I liked that the XT30 came with the Fuji’s highly regarded picture profiles. Coming from a cheapo Canon EOS T3, this thing feels fantastic! It's pretty heavy, as soon as you pick it up you can tell it's really densely packed. Weight could be an issue I guess but I think it makes it feel really high quality, so I don't mind it personally.Takes great pictures, the dynamic range isn't too bad. I love that there are so many dials for almost any setting I could ever need to change. I love shooting fully manual, even manual focus, and everything is right at my fingertips. I never need to open a menu.Super quiet, super sharp, it cost a pretty penny but I'm glad to have it and I think it's worth the price!

As a matter of fact, there are so many settings that it can definitely feel overwhelming. I primarily take pictures using a prime lens, however, in order to take pictures with a prime you have to search through a mountain of setting and find "shoot photos without a lens." I had to go to Youtube in order to find this setting, it was pretty hard to find.Videos - I haven't shot videos using this cam yet, however it does shoot in 4k and if it's anything like the photos it takes, you won't be disappointed. One note, however, this camera LCD screen flips down but does not flip up, which may be a deterrent if you're a vlogger.Overall - If you're looking for a lightweight, stylish, and capable camera that gives you full control of your photographic experience at a great price, look no further.
