G-Shock G-Lide Black Watch GBX100NS-1D Black

This is a great watch and good value for money. Unfortunately, I do not own a smart phone and so could not take proper advantage of all that the watch could offer. It was also a bit too complicated for me, something which I did not realise before I bought it. However, Watchshop, as usual do not have a problem refunding, so I was able to return it. Watchshop are the best outlet I know for watches and customer service. Would always recommend them!

Speaking as a G-Shock fan and collector I must say that the GBX-100 is a great watch. I was put off purchasing when it was launched because of negative comments regarding the app (g-shock move), but once set up the app works great and although not essential, the app is worth using. The watch feels very solid and is well built. The display is very good in light conditions. In My opinion, the price is worth it just for the usual G-shock toughness and features, then add the benefit of the step counter, activity tracker, tide graph, moon phase, sunrise-sunset, plus phone notifications and you have a brilliant watch.

Best negative display yet!

This watch not only has the best negative display I have ever seen but the hours and minutes are really big, very easy to see in poor light. Love the sun rise sun set times and moon age. Personally I don't need the fitness or tide functions, But wish you could advance the sun rise/set dates forward like you can on the Casio SGW-500H. Also the Day of the week needs to be on the top line next to the month and date, and there is no option to change the order to the European Date/Month format. The G-Shock Move app is not as good as the G-Shock Connected app and has reconnect problems. So to sum up - I like the watch but room for improvement.

I ordered this for my husband as a gift. This watch did not disappoint. Its a very nice smart watch which I didnt know upon purchasing. My husband is not all about electronics but he absolutely loved it. Thanks for helping make a special occasion even better. We both love shopping at Kays!!

Fisherman hubby absolutely loves this piece of kit

I bought this watch as a gift for my husband this last Christmas. He is serious about his fishing and I wanted to get him something that would be useful in keeping him safe during his adventures, particularly on the water. He absolutely loves it! (and most importantly...loves me!) It's been constructed with utility and efficiency in mind and has a slick design to boot. It's not bulky like some other outdoor watches and the Bluetooth connectivity lets you hook your smartphone up to get message alerts - which is great when you have your hands full with rod, bait etc (or when your wife is trying to tell you that it's late, fishing time is over and you need to come home). Great watch for anything

I've had this watch for about a year now. and it's great! the screen is easy to read in bright light as well as cloudy conditions. the buttons are easy to press with wet or dry hands. it has the typical g-shock toughness, ive banged it up pretty bad bw, bike wrecks and working in a warehouse with only a small scratch on the bezel. it works for work, sport, casual outings, and i even wore mine in my brother in laws wedding! the app is great and user intuitive, and compared to my polar watch the step counter appears to be spot on. the strap is comfortable.2 small improvements, this watch should be solar. I wish I didn't have to replace batteries on this( I haven't had to yet) and I think that to get to the notifications window it should take less than 5 button presses.

I love this watch

I could not disagree more with the other reviewer. This watch is super lightweight and very comfortable with the new band that allows for a lot of adjustment. Its fair to say that this is kind of a dumb smart watch. It allows for basic notifications, stop counting, and the app displays redundant information to the Apple health app. So I agree its not that useful other than that you can synchronize with the watch if you are walking around without your phone. The display on this is absolutely phenomenal. And even on the smaller font screens You can read the text pretty good and I have bad eyes. This is especially true in the bright sun. I live in the desert or its absolutely scorching outside. And in the direct sunlight the display reads even better. Watch functions ... MoreI could not disagree more with the other reviewer. I also like that its big enough to look like a G shock, but small enough to even work for a small rest. Ive had to watch for about a week right now and have been wearing it constantly for the entire week. I also love at the time date etc. automatically calibrate once you connected your Bluetooth your telephone. It made setting a breeze. I cant comment about the buttons being different than other G-Shock models. This could be absolutely a legitimate feedback as this is my first true shock watch. But what Im going to say is I think for around an MSRP of US$150, looking at the other models, I think this is a very solid offering. I only wish they would bring the blue color to the USA.

The traditional G-Shock square has evolved. The GBX-100 has taken the best aspects of the GW—B5600 (Bluetooth connected) watch and the G-LIDE GLX-5600’s tidal info (both square g-shocks) & combined them into this new offering, then also adding step tracking with an accelerometer. It’s not perfect. The tidal data is received either through the new Casio Move app or the preset ports already programmed into the watch. They might be subject to input errors from the third parties who provide the raw data. But for US ports the data is rock solid (provided by the US Coast Guard). Tidal data preset in the watch (if you choose not to link to the Move app) might be based on years old data so I’ve found it better to link to the Move app for updated tidal info.The reverse LCD ... MoreThe traditional G-Shock square has evolved. Unparalleled Display, lightweight, comfortable

This watch is very pleasing aesthetically. It sits beautifully on the wrist and is one of the 'neater' g-shocks. The display is stunning in all light conditions including low light. The information is useful and well displayed on each of the screens. The teal colour is very pleasing and looks either darker or lighter depending on background light. The photos don't do it justice. I would recommend this watch and buy it again.Only negatives would be the lack of hourly chime, a watch UX that's not as intuitive as it should be, and a phone app that is very new and still quite buggy. A UX example would be - It takes 4 or 5 button presses to open a notification, and you cannot filter which notifications you want pushed from phone. They all come. There are so many better better options out there when it comes to connectivity to your watch. The tracking feature rarely works accurately in the app, the notifications are useless and only give you an option to receive every type of notification from your phone. As far as the watch itself they tried to jam way too much info on a tiny screen, good luck reading anything off it if you have slightly less than perfect vision. If you're used to navigating around any other g-shock you'll need to relearn everything all over since nothing matches what you've become accustom to.
