I’m going to try to contact Casio USA Service Center to try and see if they will repair these case backs for free under warranty. It’s not just the difference in lighting in the two photos, those imperfections really are visible in all different lighting conditions.Now none of this really matters because you won’t see the case back 99% of the time when the watch is on your wrist, but for somebody like myself who owns more than a dozen mechanical watches, the case back of the watch has historically been one of the most important and prominent parts of the watch, even if the case back isn’t transparent to see the movement that dwells inside. Case back engravings / emblems are and should be kept as pristine as possible throughout the watches lifetime as it’s normally sits underside and is protected, except for the sweat that may wear it over time. It also hurts knowing that you purchased a brand new product that arrived with cosmetic imperfections.

I am a big fan of automatic watches but they are not very suitable for intense outdoor activities. That's why I wanted something for sport and I knew I did not want from the watch to track me. This is watch which let me focus and enjoy my outdoor activities without thinking how much calories I burned, whether I met "my circles", wether I was better than someone else, whether I do too much (well my body can tell me I am doing too much and I do not need a watch to tell me that) and does not send my data somewhere in the cloud. If you are a person like that too, then this watch is way to go. You won't regret. I has everything you need (time, date, timer, alarm, timezones).

The watch is super comfortable to wear and read the time due to its lightweight and positive display with auto backlight. Classic design that goes well with a wide range of clothes and styles. I strongly recommend trying to get the GW5000 strap as it makes it even more comfortable. All the above makes it a great daily watch, whether for work or sports as it has timer and stopwatch functions, in addition to the well known G-SHOCK ruggedness. Its also solar so if you do wear it outside every now and then you'll never have to worry about the battery. Finally it is not expensive and very much worth the price. Overall very happy with the watch.

Want a tough, no frills watch to last for eternity.... And this is exactly it. Full of useful features that are easy to operate. The features that I don't want to use aren't forever in the way either, so that's not irritating! The radio controlled time is great for accuracy, and I won't have to manually adjust. The light is good, and the auto feature works well. Seems as tough as it looks.... Plus solar power means no battery changes compromising the casing. Very light and comfy to wear.... And not the size of a church clock either!
I haven't used it yet. I bought it because I got a good deal on it, it's thin, it's solar, it doesn't have functions I don't use, and my current G-shock pathfinder solar watch is malfunctioning. It's been worn 24/7/365, in all conditions. It's gotten beaten up pretty well over the years. Currently, my Pathfinder is randomly flipping functions making it difficult to read the time especially when riding my bicycle.
Casio really got this watch right when first launched many years ago. I have had one for over 10 years and it still goes perfectly. The only slight niggle was the date format which used only the US mm-dd format. This updated version (U for update?) now gives the choice of UK or US date formats. A brilliant watch, solar powered, radio timekeeping, world time options and a very legible readout. Very light on wrist, hardly know you’re wearing it. One of the best watches ever.

This watch is awesome. It's practically zero maintenance, it's the most accurate watch out there and it is classic. I can't say it's indestructible because I have broken one of these watches after performing a 'sales pitch' bit by spiking it into concrete as hard as I could. That being said, I spiked it three times consecutively and I didn't think it would break, because I had done that very same thing probably a dozen times before. So, it's durable. Very durable. If you need a watch that is almost life proof, this is the watch. Lightweight, rugged, classy, easy to manipulate, easy to wear, easy to read, accurate, utilitarian and very well made.
Picked up the GW-M5610 on sale, I didn't know it was the last one, it arrived next day Ocr 29 2022. It arrived in a standard G-Shock cardboard box, the watch was on a display stand and wrapped.To my surprise, it didn't have the EL back light, I was looking at module 3495Best thing is ability to change light duration from 1.5 to 3 seconds, local time displays in timer mode and stop watch mode. Auto light works and there is 5 world timezonesI was happy on getting the regular G2-M5610 on sale
