This was very disappointingat first sniff, you can smell the oily, herbal aroma of the Koronieki olivebut at first sip... it tastes... offvery bitter, like mixed oil with something inferiorI've been to greece over a dozen times, i bought quality oil many times (around 18.90 Euros for a bottle of 1L cold-pressed 0.2% acidity Koronieki olive oil from Rhodes)but this one really tasted bad, maybe the Cretan variant is much worse than the regular peloponisian variant? or maybe the oil was mixed with something inferior?regardless i will not be purchasing this again, its strange because the rest of Gaea products are usually top notch...

I purchased this olive oil because the type of olives it's made from was mentioned in the book "Eat to Beat Disease". I don't know of any other brand that specifically states what types of olives were used in the ingredients. I use this mainly for making my own salad dressings.

Well balanced flavor profile. Fragrant olive oil, but not too bitter. Light green colour. Perfect consistency, not to thin. I’ve used this for years as the olive oil I use in my salad dressings since I need the best quality for that.

The oil is fresh with intense olive aroma. Spicy and a bit thicker consistency than some of the Italian oil. I like to try olive oil from various countries, Greece, Italy, Australia, each country produces olive with their unique taste. This one from Spain, much like some parts of the country, is hot enough to produce stronger flavour olives. The price reflects how the manufacturer regards their product - higher end
This is a great, delicious olive oil and I especially appreciate the clever spout. It retracts in and out of the bottle for a clean, no spill use. This means no dripping outside of where you want it to, no greasy bottles or an oily mess on your kitchen counter! I love so much I often reuse it by refilling it with Costco extra virgin olive oil which comes in big clumsy plastic bottles!
After trying various supermarket olive oils and being left disappointed (nothing at all like the olive oil I had tried at good Italian restaurants), I decided to search for one on Iherb. This was a couple of years ago, but already there were many positive reviews with an average rating of nearly 5/5. I was attracted to the idea of a "green and fruity" olive oil, and wondered how it would actually taste. And I must say, it was even better than expected!Taste:It has a fresh, unique flavor which may surprise you if you have never tasted it before. But very delicious! In cooking: I generally don't heat this olive oil, but drizzle it over already prepared food. I love to use it on pizza, pasta, toasted bread, and in salads and vegetable dishes. Goes especially well with garlic and onion, basil and other fresh or dried herbs, and surprisingly, even miso! It seems to make everything tastier!Storage:I was concerned about whether I could really leave it at room temperature in the summer without it going rancid (room temperature can get to about 32C/90F without air conditioning). I have never had a problem, but I store it in a dark cupboard and am always careful to tightly screw on the cap. Also, I try to go through the bottle or replace it at least every couple of months.Would I recommend this olive oil to a friend?Yes, definitely! In fact, it would make a great gift.
