Almost perfect, just wish it had a knob for steam

I got this machine to replace my trusty old Saeco that, sadly, ,bit the dust. This machine is better in almost every way. The coffee is superb, and easily customized. My family loves the favorites menu. The steam is great, very energetic, with a really great wand. But, I find the method of using the steam awkward. I always purge the steam first, then steam my milk, then purge again, as recommended by pretty much everyone. With a steam knob on my old machine, that was really easy. But to get steam on this machine you need to select steam from the menu, press start, then wait a few seconds. You need to do that for each step (purge, steam, purge). Anyway, I'm still very happy with the system, and Whole Latte Love has been great to deal with.I do wish the water tank was bigger. 1.8l sounded big enough, but the machine does a pretty big rinse each time it turns on or off, so the water goes very quickly. Again ,just a nit, not a deal killer. Also, be sure to watch WLL's youtube video on installing and setting up this machine. It has a few tips that are not in the manual and are very helpful, like lubricating the water tank.

I have now had this brewer for 3 months, I use it twice a day now compared to my old machine which was a super automatic, but was to much work to clean and detracted me from using regularly. I switched purposely to this machine to be able to control my own foam and now can truly make coffee drinks just like a coffee house. The wand allows for the control you need and I can make microfoam to thick froth. For the money this is a great machine. It does not require bottled water which saves money. Yes it does use more water than my old machine and was a comment in some reviews, but I can make double Capps for 3 days before I need to add more tap water. I really do not see the concern. I would recommend this machine to anyone.

The Jura ENA4 super auto that I got from WLL TEN years ago recently started to falter after daily use. What a quality machine. After watching all the videos and comparing and considering a bunch of other machines, I settled on this Gaggia for its advanced, user friendly interface, the simplicity of the steam wand over the pitchers, and compact size. There isn’t a ton of information on this relatively new line out there yet, so the WLL YouTube videos helped A LOT. Was considering the Babila, which I do think is more aesthetically attractive than the black plastic of this model, but the display on this one seems more modern and intuitive. It’s interesting to see the different design philosophy of Jura vs Gaggia. That Jura was super easy to use and maintain and was the perfect espresso machine for the first timer. The Gaggia is a bit more hands on, and I like that the brew group is removable for cleaning. Jura doesn’t let you get in there. This machine is still very suited to fire timers, however, while still offering a bit of added control and room to grow in tailoring various espresso drinks. The frother on this gets a nice roll and warmup time is very acceptable. I do wish I could activate it via a knob rather than pushing two buttons, but it’s really minor.Control over things like dosage size, shot size, temp, etc are great, and easy to access. But best of all, it makes great espresso. Super consistent, and the pucks come out dry and firm. It does have various alerts for things like low water, etc and it should be interesting to see how it does for more intermittent alerts like cleaning cycles, descaling, etc. That Jura lasted so long because I was assiduous about maintaining it. I think it’s important to read the manual on this one to be able to do the same.

Gaggia Cadorna Plus
9 March 2023

I needed to replace my DeLonghi Magnifica after brewing great espressos for the last 16 years. After some searching and comparing, I decided to go with the Gaggia Cadorna Plus. It has some great features and one can customize exactly the size and strength of the shots and brew styles. I like making cappuccinos and liked to have the control of the steam wand afforded with the DeLonghi. Unfortunately, the Gaggia omitted a steam valve for starting/stopping the steam flow and one must rely on the electronic valve that you must wait for, and anticipate when the steam will start to flow thru the wand. I'm not sure if this was a design oversight or if it was engineered to operate in this manner. For this reason I only gave the Gaggia Cadorna Plus a 4 out of 5 rating. I bought the Gaggia Cadorna
24 August 2022

I bought the Gaggia Cadorna Barista to replace a Gaggia Titanium that gave up after 15 years and 18,000 brews. I bought it because of the brand and that it has the same basic features as our retired Titanium. I love the screen display and temperature and dose selections that can be made by the cup. Unfortunately I am not a fan of the design changes to the water bin or brew group access. A water level indicator is sorely missed and the bin only holds a little more than 1/2 the water held by the Titanium. I guess their reasoning for the design changes was to put access to the most frequently serviced areas to the front even it it means it needs to be serviced more frequently. The brew group access on the right side of the machine means it needs to be placed in a location where the right side has room to open the side door. My final design change issue is the size of the bypass door. It is difficult to get a scoop of coffee in that little door and not all over the place. That said, it still makes a wonderful cup of coffee. We will get used to the design changes over time. Hopefully it will provide the same long dependable service as our retired Titanium.

I had researched and considered what I was looking for, and received my Barista Plus a week ago. It is perfect! I had an espresso machine many years ago, and found that with requiring all the processes (grinding, measuring, tamping, discarding and cleaning the ports filter, etc) I didn’t use it every day. What I did enjoy was the frothing, and I like my drink hot, so the Barista Plus fits the bill exactly. The large commercial wand is excellent. Still fine tuning some of the drinks, but I like the ability to save my drink settings and then edit them to adjust to my liking, The interface is so easy to follow. I live in an RV so space is at a premium. Ended up putting it on the island near the sink—that works great with easy access to the sink, and it still leaves plenty of room around it. It’s so attractive that it looks great out in the open. So far I am thrilled with the Gaggia Cadorna Barista Plus.

I'm having problem with my steam wand, as hardly any steam comes out. After a minute of trying to froth my milk, milk is barely warm with hardly any steamor foam. Currently, emailing back and forth with Whole Latte Love to sort out this problem but it's frustrating that buyer needs to spend a lot of time to figure out and resolve the problem, and it's frustrating that Whole Latte Love doesn't have a customer service number to call; all communications is through email. The quality of materials in the Cardona Barista Plus is much lower than my previous Gaggia Accademia. MEH!
23 August 2022

I have had this since it first came out 2 years ago and I am very disappointed with the machine overall. The main thing I like about the machine is the Milk Froth Wand. It's good enough to do Latte art with. That's about where the positives end. It's very small so all of the bins are very small. They need emptying or filling on a daily basis if you make more than 2 cups of coffee a day. The machine also dumps a lot of water into the back of the overflow tray so it also needs emptying often even when you catch the warm up water. The taste of the coffee is not near as good as my Delonghi and the small coffee pucks forces me to make a triple just to get some decent flavor going. The puck bin has no sensor so even if you empty it out it looks for a certain number of pucks ran and then requires you to empty it again. It does not have an auto on in the morning so you have to wait for it to warm up, which is just a mild complaint. I really wanted the Oracle and should have just spent the money. It has been reliable so far but that is the extent of my praise for this unit. It also might be good if you have very little counter space as it's very small.

Really enjoying our return to the Gaggia fold
18 May 2023

Very happy with this machine. The only reason I've given it four stars rather than five is the comparatively small water tank. Otherwise, it's excellent. We love the ability to program and save individual preferences for strength and portion sizes for various drinks. I also love being able to remove the brew group and give it a full cleaning, something our previous Jura, an otherwise excellent machine, did not allow. We used to have a Gaggia Titanium, which was also an excellent machine.

17 June 2022

So far I like it, much easier to clean than like the Jura I had (loved the Jura except it could not be internally thoroughly cleaned without tearing it apart by buying special keys, and still difficult once in it, which led to it's ultimate demise in 7 years). I like the Gaggia's "Favorites" programability. Frother works very well too. Adding water is a little sticky but doable (I find if I pull out the red tray totally out, it gives me a second spot to get a finger grip to pull the water container out easier). Puck holder holds a lot before it's full. Easy access to those 2 and the bean holder. The negative: The constant flashing of the "On" button that never stops even when it is OFF, is weird and distracting. It's unnecessary—if I don't know where the On/Off ... MoreSo far I like it, much easier to clean than like the Jura I had (loved the Jura except it could not be internally thoroughly cleaned without tearing it apart by buying special keys, and still difficult once in it, which led to it's ultimate demise in 7 years). It's unnecessary—if I don't know where the On/Off button is after the first use, I shouldn't be using this machine. This is the only thing I really don't like about it, drives me crazy drawing my attention when in the kitchen, but a minor point in the overall quality of what I bought the machine for. I haven't really owned it long enough to judge reliability, that is why I don't like writing satisfaction reviews so soon after purchase. Everything is great the first few months with 90% of any purchase. Will see if it outlives the Jura. :)
