I recently upgraded from the Classic (after 8 years) to the Brera. I was unsure initially but so far so good! Easy to use, less time to make espresso drinks, and super easy to set up. It’s super helpful to watch WholeLatteLove’s set up video. We set ours on the finest grind and highest aroma settings and it makes great espresso. Yes the water needs refilled each time but with 2 people using it- not a big deal. Also, you have to empty the (collecting) water tray each time- no big deal. It makes a double shot by grinding beans twice so if you want two double shots beans it grinds 4 times but still seems quicker than grinding beans separately for the Classic. This is more than a suggestion!The one questionable thing in an otherwise good product: the lid over the coffee bean grinder doesn’t sit flat or snug compared to what we see in the videos online. It is not really affecting performance. I mention it because it may be just a manufacturer flaw in that part - I’m curious if other people have experience the same.

I hate to write a bad review...but I purchased the Gaggia Brera based on the wonderful reviews. This is our second one after the first lasted right at 2 years, because we were not careful with making sure we used DRY coffee beans on the first one. So we babied this one and carefully used only dry beans! But after several months I had to call and walk through the "repair" process with Whole Latte Love's repair person. It was extremely difficult to get a person on the phone. They did send us the replacement part free and directions to take the machine apart and replace the grinder mechanism is on their website. All this had to be done because a plastic part connected to the burr grinder broke inside somehow. ?? When this happens it wastes the coffee it just ground and completely stops the machine from pulling the shot. This happens again and again - we tried everything to get the problem solved. This time I reluctantly decided to PAY the shipping costs and repair fee to get it fixed correctly, because there was no other solution for this machine that was not working properly. It is an EXPENSIVE process to send to Whole Latte Love's repair center. Then they kept the original box I sent it to them in, "repaired" it and sent back in some kind of foam packing that was not nearly as protective as the original box and packing I sent it in...it worked really well for a few weeks! AND then the dreaded RED light once AGAIN began appearing showing a malfunction or clog in bean hopper/grinding area...unit was leaking again underneath...it's been an expensive and disappointing experience all around. I cannot recommend this machine.

If you are new to "bean to cup" this is a good machine and certainly makes better espresso than machines that use capsules. This machine allows you to make consecutive shots without waiting which is impressive. The only adjustment you can make is shot size. Since I drink more espresso now, I have noticed I want the ability to change temperature or pressure when making a shot. It may not seem like a big deal but if you want your espresso hotter or with more crema or extract more flavor from the beans you will have to be able to make those changes. I owned a used Saeco Magic Comfort + which served me for a overa decade. The pump clogged and i decided to buy a new machine.The Gaggia Brera was a good price and had the features I excited. Whole Latte Love had the best price with free shipping.The Brera has a smaller water tank and hopper than the Saeco, but is considerably less expensive than a Saeco of the same size as the old one. You can get maybe three full cups from the Brera before refilling the water tank.Operation is quite easy. Setup was a breeze and establishing the correct grind took a few minutes and a few cups of coffee.Coffee is perfect, as good as the Saeco.Hopefully it will last as long as the Saeco!

I've taken this machine apart and cleaned out the grinder multiple times and have tried different beans. No matter what, we get the "no bean" error at least once per day, but usually more.
