This mat is great for the money you paid. Not the most perfect mat, but it'll do! I previously had the same mat, but in the dual printed (both sides) which was $30, and that mat was PHENOMENAL! BUT-- I really didn't need the dual printed since I only used one side. So I returned it and got this one. I love the design, though I wish the yellow wasn't so transparent. Though it's hard to complain because yellow overlayed on a dark surface is pretty difficult to get full opacity (from a painters perspective). And the print is a little off center, leaving the bottom looking crooked. But since it's a dark mat, you can't tell as much. There were also some hanging foam on the end. So I’m not 100% sure this is the exact one I have, but I do have a purple Gaiam yoga mat that’s lasted over 10 years! That’s longer than some jobs, friends, relationships...you get the picture. It’s still in excellent condition too! I’ve taken it to the gym, yoga classes, and when I moved from CA to TX (and taking it back to CA again too). It has good grip (not slippery) and it’s also great for using at home. Sometimes I use it as a mat to nap on in my apartment! It has a nice amount of cushion and trust me, the thick size makes a difference! A decent mat

After looking at a number of mats for floor work-outs, I settled on the two-tone yoga mat. I like the colors (purple). As many others noted, the nubs starting coming off within a month or two of using it. This only effects the looks and not the functionality. I imagine the nubs are there to reduce slipping, but it does seem like a flaw that they start coming up relatively soon.It had a minor odor when it first arrived but airing it out eliminated that within a few days.I use it on a carpet so it's hard to comment on cushioning for sit-ups etc. on a hard floor. But I imagine it would be fine.There are some problems with being too sticky for certain exercises (only a few).Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and ordered a second one to leave at our vacation house.

Dismal performance - Very slippery after 1 yr - don't buy

I purchased this Gaiam Classic Yoga Mat with Stabilizing Grip as a replacement for a previous Gaiam yoga mat which was getting a bit grubby and worn. The advertised Non-slip support is not true. My hands constantly slip in downward facing dog and when I am transitioning through a Vinyasa flow. My hands are not sweating. I am attending Hatha and Vinyasa classes, and they are not Hot Yoga classes. This mat is currently 1 year old and I have attended many classes using it. I have cleaned this mat using both yoga mat cleaner and mild dish soap in water. It still remains extremely slippery. Have you changed the material used to manufacture these mats? My previous Gaiam mats never required a "break in period" or "pre-cleaning" and was never slippery. Good little mat.

It's fine for what I wanted it for...a mat for the occasional yoga class I attend. I don't do yoga on the regular, so I can't say it's a fabulous mat.The price I paid for the quality I got (for the two times I've used it) show good value.It didn't slip around (which is awesome) and it's softer then the Floor. No negatives, but again - I've only used it ,2x .

I'd buy again and gift to others

I have had mixed experiences with Gaiam mats in the past, but make a point to read a wide variety of reviews before purchasing one. I had one similar to this in the past and was pleased with, and feel the same way about this one. The recommendation to air it out and wipe with a wet cloth before first use were helpful, as it still had a slight chemical smell after laying out over night. The mat is grippy and prevents slipping during poses like down dog, although if you're really sweaty, like after a run, there's only so much grip you can expect from a wet surface. Color options are really pretty, and I like the cushion a slightly thicker mat provides.

Love it... don't buy anything thinner than the 6mm

LOVE it. This is the second mat I've purchased from Gaiam and I'm still very happy with them. Also bought one for my mom. I recommend only purchasing the 6mm or thicker. PS... I use this mat at my gym on average 6 days a week and it holds up fairly well. These start to "shed" after using them for hovers/planks for a while which I wish did not happen, but I've only purchased these mats so I can't say how they hold up against other mats. I called giaam when my last mat started to flake away but they said the "lifetime" warranty does not cover the "shedding" which is not cool at all - so don't think that this mat will last you a "lifetime" when you buy it. I think my last one only lasted a year. Not sure if that's reasonable but at least it's not as expensive as some ... MoreLOVE it. Slippery at first, but I fixed it

I was really excited to receive my mat and immediately wiped it with water like they say to, and then left it unrolled to dry. Then a day later I took it to a class, and my hands were sliding EVERYWHERE. I could not hold a down dog to save my life. I'm not even someone who typically has sweaty hands but I feel like the mat actually made my hands sweat more. Luckily, I brought my sweatshirt into class with me, so I put that over top and that fixed it temporarily.When I got home I looked up what Gaiam recommends which is washing it with a 50/50 mixture of water and vinegar. I wiped it down good and let it sit out for a few days. I just tried it again at home yesterday and it actually seemed to work like 90% of the way! Unfortunately it is a foot shorter

This yoga mat is supposed to be non slip. Not true. Apart from slipping all over the place on gym floor it was also puckering up and it was a foot shorter than normal length. It was also uncomfortable and unforgiving to your knees.I am sorry it is definitely not for me.Money wasted. (Can't return it because I have used the mat).I ordered Yoga Mad brand and inhaven't looked back. This mat is absolutely brilliant. Many years to look forward to enjoyable yoga.Happy days.
