4 years old and no case

This was the best phone I've ever had, and I'm genuinely sad to let it go. After 4 years with no case, it only began to fail me this week after some serious drops, so do get a case. Still, so impressed at how long it lasted without ever slowing down, and I am on it for like 12 hours a day. Never had a single issue gaming on it (no lagging, never crashed). Screen display was beautiful, and I don't even think newer phones have screens this good. Camera is excellent, and I love the single-take option for cute candids. Only improvement it could use is with lighting. If lighting was better and it was 5G capable, I would have bought another, but I'm hoping this speed and longevity holds as well on the new Galaxy S21 I just ordered.

I have always used android phones but I have to admit this is the best one I have ever had. It is sleek and slim a very attractive looking phone . It is easy to use and the camera is amazing . Great battery life really impressed with that. Only thing I would suggest if you are buying the phone put a phone cover in the basket too , because of the design and how light the phone is I can see it being easy to drop but highly recommended phone

Brand new S9, fast ship and great phone

Ill break this up into two parts: the Galaxy S9 and my experience with the seller. First, the phone was brand new, it was not old, refurbished, just new, in the box with all the wrappings and protections of a new phone. The seller shipped it quickly and packaged it well, and the price was super! Next, the S9 is a great phone, but not excellent. The size is perfect, just slightly longer than my iPhone X, it fits comfortably in my large hands and Im able to one-hand it easily. I dont like the rounded edge for multiple reasons; people can see what youre looking more easily from the side, most cases dont protect the edge leaving it vulnerable to breakage, and it is sensitive to the touch, causing you to accidentally touch things that you didnt intend (like turning a ... MoreIll break this up into two parts: the Galaxy S9 and my experience with the seller. The battery is only so-so, I havent played around enough with settings, but on power saver it will last one day with gameplay, I hoped for a little better (for example, my 1yo iPhone X lasts longer). The camera is excellent, it takes great low-light pictures and super videos, it still has the video pause capability which I enjoy over the iPhone. All else is really good, a few quirks like the calendar not being able to parse recurring appointments easily (bi-weekly, every 3rd Thursday, etc),and Bixby (I havent used it, but the fact you cant program the raised button for an alternate action without activating Bixby is annoying). If you get the S9, enjoy, its a great phone!

Fast, reliable, medium size
15 June 2022

Nothing better than Samsung, imo. It catches weak signals, responsive, fast, somewhat light. Mine came unlocked and it works with 3 different phone companies plug-n-play, no issues. Easy to carry because it is small, but still easy to read messages. My main complaint is the screen burn that is common with these newer models. My previous Samsung is 6 years older, heavily used (to the point screen was peeling off) and never had screen burn. I had to play around with dark theme and wallpaper background. Another complaint is that it comes with a lot of bloatware..it took me a while to remove it (what I could) or deactivate (it). Not worth upgrading to another model with 5G (yet).

Good value

Got this to mainly upgrade from a 16G phone. Only have a few basic apps, but was constantly running out of available memory. This phone has 64G and a big difference. Runs faster, too. Had this a week now, and just a couple concerns: When it's charging, the screen does not go black. It "pulsates". Can imagine this would be quite annoying if you had to keep it close by at night. Also, have to swipe the phone to answer. Why? Can't find a way yet to just plain old press the green phone. How hard is that? Worst, I can't disable or uninstall some apps I'll never use. I don't use Facebook, Bixby, etc. So now, I'm taking up more memory for apps than I was before. (?) Otherwise, the phone is great!

Great Phone for the hardware and software!

I recently had a galaxy s9 but my phone unfortunately cracked. My insurance got me a Galaxy S9+ in exchange. The camera is amazing, love taking and sharing everyday amazing moments on instagram and facebook using this camera. The performance and battery life is decent depending on what you do, but definitely better than on my s9 after 1½ year of usage. My previous s9 was good but i find the s9+ more convenient and love the bigger 6.2" display. Good for midnight netflix party or just watching memes on youtube :-D XD. I just love the design. I could just rub my fingers 24/7 on the curved back glass of the phone, that might be a reason why i barely wear the case at home XD. Water resistance is good for the hot summer days when taking pictures in the pool or dust ... MoreI recently had a galaxy s9 but my phone unfortunately cracked. Water resistance is good for the hot summer days when taking pictures in the pool or dust resistance when helping my mom cook. Never need to be worried to drop it into water or flour unless its cracked of course. I could expand this review to infinity and beyond thats how good i think the phone is. I dont see any point of upgrading from an s9 to s9+ so no one please dont take me for granted, its only my insurance that gave me this bonus, but anyway you will get the same amazing experience on both but on the s9 will of course lack the live focus and 2x optical zoom on rear cameras but with the one ui update you should have good life focus on the front camera. If anyone who is not able to afford the latest flagships like the note 10 or s10 just get this one as it should get you running through the day. And for those who are able to afford get the latest one as my parents own the note 10+ 5g and these are really good phones. Cant wait what samsung will bring in the future for the customers and i cant wait to get an upgrade on june 2020 when my contract finally expires. Might get the note 11 by then. Sorry for making the review so long but i think i just needed to get rid of everything off my chest about this phone, because its that amazing.

As an older phone, My device is 5yrs old and still rocks... all the buttons to work it powers on and Powers off quickly I can do retinal unlocking PIN code finger scanner or voice unlocking. it's compatible with the latest Samsung Galaxy 5 smartwatch and of course my favorite expandable memory...!I've always loved Samson devices but I think this performs well above the S8 S10 Note 10 and the s21.I also work in Dusty dirty humid conditions outside and in both cold and hot weather. I've probably dropped it 40 plus times and I have a cheaper case that is not high dollar and this OG of a phone takes a licking and keeps on ticking. No complaints Samsung!!! if I do end up upgrading my phone here soon, I'll still keep this one for games and will have active service on it ... MoreAs an older phone, My device is 5yrs old and still rocks... all the buttons to work it powers on and Powers off quickly I can do retinal unlocking PIN code finger scanner or voice unlocking. it's compatible with the latest Samsung Galaxy 5 smartwatch and of course my favorite expandable memory...!I've always loved Samson devices but I think this performs well above the S8 S10 Note 10 and the s21.I also work in Dusty dirty humid conditions outside and in both cold and hot weather. PicturesIf location is on while I am using my camera I can select location under Bixby and as I move my camera around I get labels of what's around me e.g coffee shops, restaurants, shops and many more with distance fromme and all i have to do for more information is tap on the label.Translating anything into English is a breeze I point my camera at the text, road signs or menu and a second or two later its all in English.Extracting text works in the same way point and snap a pic and Bixby will do the rest by taking all that text and putting it onto your phone for you then to put it into a word document or notes. This is amazing personally as I don't have to write long notes I just snap a pic of my colleagues notes and while they type up everything I have it in a word document in an instant :-)Slow motion camera, all I will say is WOW as I now feel like a professional and my videos would pass for exactly that. It's a lot of fun and allows anyone to to become a pro without any effort.I am really impressed and extremely happy with the S9+ and recommend to everyone to try it because you will be truly amazed.

Still 5 star after 2 years
16 July 2020

I love my phone and I love it as much now, 2 years after purchase, as I did then.Reviews still rate as one of the best phones on the market and I totally agree.Usually, after 2 years and ofren less, I'm longing to upgrade and get all ghe features and improvements that the newest phones have and make me somewhat dissatisfied with mine - but not this time. I don't feel another, newer phone, or newer model, would be so much better and enable me to do many things better, and some things I couldn't do with the S9+ but really want to. I am still delighted with my phone and I am still discovering new things, new features. So, why do I love it so much? The reasons are numerous and may become boring to read but they are genuinely important or a pleasure for me.The ... MoreI love my phone and I love it as much now, 2 years after purchase, as I did then.Reviews still rate as one of the best phones on the market and I totally agree.Usually, after 2 years and ofren less, I'm longing to upgrade and get all ghe features and improvements that the newest phones have and make me somewhat dissatisfied with mine - but not this time. I am still delighted with my phone and I am still discovering new things, new features. So, why do I love it so much? The reasons are numerous and may become boring to read but they are genuinely important or a pleasure for me.The size is great. Not too big, or heavy and the screen us crystal clear. Failing eyesight due to age and infirmity, make a good sized, clear screen, an absolute must. The camera is brilliant and it takes pictures of a highly satisfactory standard, completely outstripping the quality of my expensive, feature packed, camera; with only one exception, as my camera has a very powerful zoom lens. Even so, my phone has powerful lenses too and the quality of the built in camera is acknowledged, by experts, to still be one of the best. As I suffers with shaking hands I appreciate how much the camera compensates and enable me to take stunning photos. The motion photo feature is brilliant and despite the shaking I have some super motion shots, captured with the screenshot feature, as well as the ability to save some excellent video clips. As a result I have some great photos of birds captured in flight. Together with clips that captured them even before I thought it possible to do so. In lockdown, the taking of photos in my garden, or from my conservatory, whilst watching the birds, has given such pleasure and relief, from the stresses of the world in this time of pandemic. As I'm in an at risk category re Covid-19, I've had to spend almost all my time at home. My phone has helped me through this. Being able to take photos of nature and do things like Sussex Wildlife Trust's Big Back Garden Bird Race, every Sunday, has been highpoints of my weeks. Using the Bird Race App and other features on my phone, has made that an even better experience. The variety of apps available and the ease of accessung and managing them, alkng wiyh the built in features, means I have so much available. I can be entertained, informed and in touch, in a way that makes life easier, fuller and I value that highly.I thought there might be a problem with charging the battery adequately, or that it might not charge at all. That prospect was very depressing. I don't want to get another phone, a different phone and to be honest would struggle to afford one but it was the prospect of not having 'this' phone, that was the worst of that. I've only felt that way once before, when my Nokia was stolen quite a few years ago and even that doesn't compare.I haven't gone through anything like all the reasons I love my phone and usually I would say like, not love, but I've wriiten more than enough.Could I live without my phone? Of course I could. I'd just much, much rather not.I would add some of my best bird photos but I had to move them off my phone because I ran out of storage when recording videos of lectures. So, I'll add some others.

Used Galaxy S9 Plus
27 February 2022

Galaxy S9 Plus is a regular phone that dose what's expected. The calendar and reminder layout could use some tweeking. First time having a Samsung phone. I don't care for the competition between the Samsung and Google app store. Front facing picture quality is average. Rear camera is pretty good at capturing details. Video recording is probably the S9 Plus best feature. Not a fan of the haphazard multi screen. Over all great phone. At this time it's already considered an older model phone, but it still does the job.
