I brought this for my 4 year old who was getting fed up of practicing reading, writing and numbers! Looking for new ways to encourage her with her learning before she starts school in September I brought this kit. She has absolutely loved it and already told me she is going to become a scientist! Although at 4 she needs lots of help she has loved working her way through the experiments and has already learnt about primary colours and what happens when they mix. I think this set will last for a long time as it can easily be adapted as she grows older and new ideas can be learnt. Experiments are easy to complete and I would recommend this set to anyone.

I got this as a present for my nieces and they really enjoyed doing the different experiments. It does require adult supervision and help but really lovely way to get kids excited about science. Some things aren't included but you should have them easy to hand / laying around the house already.
Our 4 year old loved this. It includes lots of different ‘experiments’ and gives good practice in suggesting they write up their results and use a pipette successfully. Some experiences require a bit of patient waiting but there is certainly enough to keep youngsters curious and involved. Discovering how the flowers changed colour and the rainbow crystals grew from just 3 colours fascinated her. I intend to buy two more kits for a niece and nephew as I am sure they would love it too.But one drawback I would like putting right first - the mixing tray was missing. Please could you supply one for us?
Bought 2 kits,one each for two sets of grandchildren who love science and wanted something fun and interesting to do during lockdown, without too much parental input and which they hadn’t done before .(one set aged 7,10 and 13 the others twins aged 8).They all enjoyed it ,(even the eldest) because it is very colourful , and they could watch the progress over an extended period .It gave them a break from computer- based home schooling and what kids don’t like a bit of water play, especially if it is coloured?It would be fun for younger children too ,but they would need more help .Well worth the money.
3 and 5 year old really enjoyed acting like scientists and taking part in these simple experiments. Bonus points for all the rainbow links as the kids love them! Needs adult supeevision but the experiments are all very easy to set up and require minimum planning and only basic additional items are needed, eg a bit of tap water. Comes with a large bag of crystals so the experiments can be repeated. Great stuff.
Bought as a gift. The kit looks exciting but beware a number of essential items are not included. To play (experiment) with the Rainbow Lab you need a glass, felt-tip pens, paper, a torch, whole milk, a plate, washing-up liquid, paper towels, white flowers and scissors.
My son absolutely loved this (he is 6yrs). He was so excited to do science experiments and this did not disappoint. Really easy for him to do with a little help (mainly reading the instructions). Excellent value for money.
I recently bought the Galt Rainbow Lab for my grand-daughter. She was absolutely delighted with it and was showing me how the crystals change colour and the other experiments. As I live in England and my daughter and her family live in Australia, I find it very convenient to purchase gifts from Toy Universe.
