I highly recommend this brand hook for its durability. It was recommend to me by one of Pulaski’s top Salmon guides Denny B. Great hook for live or chunk bait. For a 2/0, it could be a little stouter. That's the reason for only 4 stars. Angled eye makes it easy to snell. Barbs are always very sharp. I use these primarily for catfish and carp in the local creeks, and only REALLY big (20+ lbs) have bent them. Circle hook feature has almost eliminated guthooking. My cheapskate friends like to swipe these out of my tackle bag!

These are brilliant hooks, cannot fault them for reef or river fishing for all caregories of fish, fish hook themselves in corner of mouth, no gut hooking. My only complaint is they are no longer avaiable in packs of 100 in Aust or NZ it seems, consequently dearer to buy in smaller quantites of 6/pack or 25/pack. Well worth the money anyway, don't seem to rust like other brand hooks I have used in the tackle box.
Over the years all of our locally owner sporting goods stores that carried extensive lines of fishing gear have closed and the big box stores just don't stock a broad selection of terminal tackle let alone in bulk. I ordered these online & within a few days they were at my local Walmart for pickup. Would I spend more on hooks for tournament fishing with big money on the line, yes, but for everyday fishing these are pretty sharp, strong and more than adequate. At this price, hooks lost to snags and such are also much easier on the wallet.
These are great sharp hooks! I use them for hooking up my senkos wacky style and also for drop shotting. They have not disappointed! Highly recommend giving them a try!
I love Gamakatsu! They are my GO TO! Quality control is outstanding! Engineering is outstanding! Material is top notch! I'm not a hard core- sharpen my hooks kind of guy- BUT I can tell you- these hooks stay sharp after a beating! They hold their form as well despite being abused and hooked on some monsters.
Had a pack of the equivalent of these in Eagle Claw Brand, tested them out so I could save these hooks for walleye on fishing opener. Had to immediately switch back to these right away. I never poked my fingers while tying on the Eagle claws but while tying these you have to be much more carful, poked myself a lot. That's a good thing!These are thinner and much sharper, definitely a much higher quality hook. Also they don't rust like the eagle claws. Worth the extra couple dollars.
The hooks are the sharps hooks I have ever used. It is the only hook I have used for sea trout and red drum for years. I was introduced to them by an outdoor writer when they first came available. They are just the best.
A great hook! The cost is justified by the engineer. The ideal ratio of sizes of hook, lines, radii, wire thickness, bending and withdrawal of the sting from axis, thermal and chemical treatment, in conjunction with the quality of workmanship begat this Ideal! This is the perfect hook to catch a predator live fish, dead fish, other cut baits. The nozzle is holding up well , the predator does not flee, the triumph of the fisherman. Fishing Catfish in Europe using FireBall. This is a cool hook!
