A Nice Upgrade From Old Design, Still Great

While this can be fixed, it's an involved process which requires taking the mouse apart and soldering new switches. It's relatively high weight is also worth noting, especially with today's super lightweight mice. Also, huge props to Logitech for not putting "Pro" anywhere in the name, that's a silly trend that needs to go away. This newer model addresses most of these issues. It has an updated design, new switches, and it sheds quite some weight too.As for comfort, the new 502 is a little bit lower, and a little bit longer. I've always felt that the old 502 was a tad too small, and while the G502 X isn't significantly larger, the tiny bit of extra length (settle down) makes it feel a bit nicer, a small but very welcome improvement.Tracking is the same, which means it's really good. The buttons also feel great to me. The new switches are an optical switch, so they should last way longer than the old switches. All the buttons feel very similar in terms of placement, and they're all about as easy to hit as on the old design. The large button on the thumb rest can also be customized. You can flip it one way or the other. On one orientation its about as easy to hit as on the old design, and the other orientation is much easier to hit. You can also just block it off with a little rubber piece if you don't want it.The only thing I really don't like much is the scroll wheel. It just feels a bit cheap and rattly and reminds me of the scroll wheel on crappy e-waste grade mice. To be clear, it's not awful or anything, but its definitely not nice. I wish they would've used the scroll wheel from the MX Master, but that'd probably be pretty heavy.Speaking of weight, I was never bothered by the 121 gram weight of the old design. At 106 grams, the G502 X Plus is lighter than the old one, but not by much, and it's still not light. If you want a super light mouse, maybe get the corded version (89 g) or just get another mouse. If you're not too bothered, this is an excellent choice. From an aesthetic perspective, the mouse looks very good, it's a modern design that's not bland, but not overly aggressive either. The RGB strip has 8 zones so you can really customize it, you can even crate your own animations. Sadly, it's only available on the top tier G502 X Plus. The wired version doesn't have any RGB, which is a missed opportunity in my opinion. Also, while you can get up to 120 hrs of use on a single charge, it goes down to about 40 with RGB on, which is actually a downgrade from the 60 hours on the old G502 Lightspeed with RGB enabled. I still prefer the extra customization of the LED strip vs the boring single LED on the old design, so I'll happily sacrifice some battery for the much better looks. Also, it now comes in white too (Thank you Logitech!)Just like the old design, the new 502 supports Power Play. It also has USB C charging, and you can use any cable. The older G502 Lightspeed had its ancient Micro USB port buried inside a tiny hole, meaning many cables wouldn't fit, at least not without shaving the connector down with a knife. If you want to change your DPI on the fly with the buttons, the LED strip just changes colors, whereas the old design had 3 LEDs which were easier to interpret. Also, you don't have the ability to add weights like on the old mouse. Personally I don't change DPI on the fly and never used the adjustable weights, so losing these features isn't an issue for me.In conclusion: If you already have a G502, this is a small incremental upgrade. The biggest change is the looks, and a somewhat lighter weight. If you don't care too much about either, you can safely skip this model and stick to your old G502. But if you care about looks as well, or if you're looking for a new mouse, the G502 X is a great choice and I don't see much reason to get it over the old G502, except for maybe price. Aside from the scroll wheel and maybe battery, everything about it is better.

Though I don't have a problem plugging the mouse in once a week or so to give it a charge.Everything else is better though. I always have that button bound to G for grenades or anything else that I might like to have easy access to. I do like that you can flip around the button piece to suit the way you grip the mouse or your thumb length. And finally we're using USB C for the cable. And it will fit other cables if you happen to break the one that comes with the mouse.Only thing I'm not sure on is longevity. The previous G502 Lightspeed had some plastic quality issues where the mouse buttons became shiny much quicker than my G502 Proteus Spectrum. The plastic on this mouse hasn't shown any sign of wear so far, but only time will tell. So far it's been a month and the mouse still feels new. Also I don't have any comment on the sensor because they've been so good over the last decade that improving them literally makes no difference at all and if you swapped the sensor for a G502 Proteus Core's you wouldn't even notice.

I never knew mouse had so many features

Went with this mouse in my office upgrade replacing the Microsoft Arc. I am not a mouse expert by any means and using it for heavy productivity work mainly. It feels good, looks stylish with the RGB lighting, and the adjustable settings via the G Hub app makes it very customizable. I found the app a bit comprehensive at first, but after a little research I was able to at least figure out how to change the lights, speed, etc. The mouse has 0 lag at all and very responsive. There are so many additional features and options that I have not tried yet (or needed yet), so I will have to explore more. All in all I am happy with the purchase. If I ever get into gaming or a task which would unlock its maximum performance I will be prepared. My initial impressions are super strong with this mouse! I'm swapping from a GPro X, so I was worried about the weight change, but the second I picked up the 502X, I was amazed by how...balanced and good it felt. I had a Steelseries mouse that's 20 grams lighter but feels far more unwieldly, so I think that's a testament to Logitech's brilliance in crafting this mouse's fit and finish. Due to the excellent shape and ergonomics, this is a very comfortable mouse that, paired with the new skates, is extremely smooth and predictable. Build quality is also top-notch given it's a high-end Logitech product. Performance is also great. The wireless nature and the actuation and feel of all of the switches makes it feel just amazing during gaming and outside of gaming. A large reason I ditched the GPro X and got this instead is due to the additional buttons. The extra buttons simply add freedom and functionality to how the mouse can be used, and all of the placements of them are fantastic. The only "weak" portion of the mouse has so far been the scroll wheel. It's actually feels very nice as it has very defined scroll points, but it's honestly just pretty loud. Also, this mouse is $170 after taxes which is wild. It's a top-tier mouse, and that's reflected in all that it offers, but it'll take a while for that $170 to feel payed off. Overall though, this is a stunning, performant, comfortable, and convenient mouse. I highly recommend this mouse to anyone who doesn't absolutely need a light mouse, or very niche features.

My favorite mouse of all time.

I love this mouse, I've always preferred the layout of Logitech's G502 line compared to other mice. You get so many more buttons at your disposal, and I use every one of them. When compared to the previous iteration, this guy has new optical switches which boast a longer lifespan. And at least in my experience this is true. Logitech really had some QC issues with the last model, switches would die within months. I personally replaced switches on my Logitech mice and all my friends, a totally of 9 times. Fairly easy / full-proof if you know what you're doing. But it's definitely preferable to avoid that situation altogether. The G502 layout / versatility you love with none of the drawbacks. I snagged two of these, one in each color. Nice mouse, horrible scroll wheel
6 September 2023

I recieved this mouse today as a replacement for my faulty Corsiar M65 Ultra Wireless. My first impressions are that it's okay. It feels plasticky and a little flimsy. The side buttons have a nice click and feel solid, the main left and right click feel a little light and flimsy but work fine. The scroll wheel though, feels horrible. It rattles when you scroll and when you middle click, it feels horribly mushy and wiggles to the left. It feels like a scroll wheel that you would get on a $20 mouse, not a mouse that has an RRP of $349.99. It's honestly pretty disappointing. I have a logitech G402 that I use at work and the scroll wheel on that mouse feels 1000x times more solid and premium both for middle click and scrolling. I would avoid this mouse if I were you, simply because of the scroll wheel.

Kind of makes for a bumpy ride when scrolling websites but its not a big issue for me.Mouse clicks are nice, short and crisp.I got the white version. It looks fantastic right now after about a weeks worth of use but we'll see long term. I don't eat greasy snacks at my desk but it's just a matter of time before this thing is gonna need a cleaning.

Rehauled G.O.A.T

I have had multiple 502s in my time, 502 inspired designed mice as well as Logitech mice in general. My biggest beef with Logitech has been the unfortunate double click issues that plague their mice BUT I think we finally have the fix with these new switches! This mouse looks FANTASTIC in the white colorway and it will also help keep it looking nicer longer vs the way oils create a shine in black MnK even with cleaning!IT feels great in the hand and looks great too! It has customizable RGB zones and custom hot keys that you can setup within the G-Hub app! If you want even more battery life at the expense of RGB you can disable the RGB altogether and get almost 140 hours out of one charge!Speaking of charge this mouse has USB-C charging so it charges back up ... MoreI have had multiple 502s in my time, 502 inspired designed mice as well as Logitech mice in general. I have never had it lag or dropout on me once since owning it.The buttons are very nice and responsive and I have had no experience of double clicks or misclicks. The scroll wheel is the classic two style that the 502 has always had giving you the option to make it infinite scroll if you enjoy that. The side button can be customized to your like by being able to rotate it or put a flat dummy cover on it which is a nice feature! If you have been looking for an excuse to get another 502 for the collection or need a new mouse I can highly recommend this one!

Very well built & Ultra low latency

Bought to replace the previous generation of this mouse. Logitech made improvements to the ergonomics and also build quality. The switches also feel like they are higher quality. The switches took a few hours to break in, but once broken in they felt amazing (specifically left and right click). The RGB is actually way more impressive in person and colors track seamlessly. Finally, the responsiveness is unmatched with any wireless mouse I've used in the past. Near instantaneous tracking (using rtx 4090 on a C1 OLED). Extremely recommended for playing WoW or any other game that requires macroing as the logitech software allows for super easy switch binding. 10/10 recommending to all my friends. You get what you pay for. Don't think twice on the cost.
