A 30 metre hose / 20 year guarantee/ good price

A typical garden hose has a 12 month or, just possibly, a 24 month guarantee, so to find one with a 20 YEAR warrantee is quite startling. Also, the pricing is very competitive.Little use so far, but water goes in one end and comes out the other(!) and the hose seems quite supple and yet robust.

Absolute rubbish.

I brought this hose without reading any reviews, silly mistake. This hose is absolute rubbish. It states a kink resistance of 8 out of 10. I would rate it 1 out of 10 and that's being generous. Also a hose fitting burst off on first use. Returned within 24 hours of purchase and replaced with the Pope 35m.

I bought this hose on the basis of its advertised kink resistance 8 out of ten. Only early but kinking is immediately a problem and very frustrating. Should have checked the previous reviewers before buying.Important first use guide available at gardena.com - could not find

Badly assembled
21 September 2024

The fittings were not installed correctly and one virtually fell off.The tap-end fitting leaked with both the supplied screw on tap fitting and the one I'd been using for ages.Replaced the click-on bit with on of the blue/black type, no leaksThe hose itsel seems ok, fingers crossed, but the fittings, and how they were assembled is flaming atrocious

Be wary of the fittings!
18 October 2021

It’s a great hose, but the fittings that come with it are fiddly and annoying. It comes with a ‘Water Stop’ fitting to connect to the nozzle/spray gun, but it took me probably half an hour to finally connect my spray gun to it properly- I eventually had to literally whack it hard on a bit of concrete to jam it on. If I just clicked it in, it would either not let the water through or the spray gun would pop off completely from the build up of pressure (seemingly the flow was perfectly fine on those occasions because I ended up drenched). As comical as it sounds, it was not a fun time and I’d highly recommend getting an alternative fitting to avoid the stuff around that I had.

Best kink free hose
30 August 2022

Great Product. This is the third Gardena High Flex hose I have purchased. The important feature to me was the kink resistance ability. They are not cheap, but well worth the extra as other cheaper hose I have purchased previously where prone to kinking, and many very stiff. This one is the best hose I have ever purchased. As we live on 5 acres, we need hoses of different lengths to maintain our trees and gardens. I purchase a 30mt version at the same time after already owing one I knew this was the best hose. The fitting too are excellent and do not leak, even under pressure when a trigger nozzle is not engaged.

Just awful..buy something else

I'm a detailer. If I could give this range of hoses minus 50 I would. Constantly kinks. The attachments at either end prevent water from escaping so you can never roll it up the same way. It's incredibly frustrating

Pretty good hose
17 January 2024

I bought this hose as it is made by Husqvarna and they usually make great products. We have high water pressure at our place (we are at bottom of big hill) and some hoses can't handle the pressure, but this hose seems to be extremely strong and sturdy and it has no problem with the high pressure. They say it is kink resistant which is correct as it does tend to kink itself and I suppose that is why it is an 8 out 10 on the kink scale. I would give this hose 5 stars if the kink resistance was 10 out of 10.

Some hose guru mantras

I have been in building landscaping and horticulture fields half of my long life.I've lost count of the brands, types of hoses I have used over the years. From cheap to super expensive, reel, and hand coiled, and hand coiled and tied after use. This hose is good quality. Some self-defeating handling I've seen with amateurs is firstly they don't know how to uncoil a hose and allow it to relax. This needs to be done carefully AND, over a period of breaking the hose in.Especially when you use it for the first few times, as kinking in the same place over and over will weaken the hose and can end up as a permanent pain as the hose has memory. It's essential when you rewind a hose, either by hand or on a reel to do so without putting the twist back in the hose.To ... MoreI have been in building landscaping and horticulture fields half of my long life.I've lost count of the brands, types of hoses I have used over the years. This needs to be done carefully AND, over a period of breaking the hose in.Especially when you use it for the first few times, as kinking in the same place over and over will weaken the hose and can end up as a permanent pain as the hose has memory. It's essential when you rewind a hose, either by hand or on a reel to do so without putting the twist back in the hose.To stop kinking you MUST unwind it as you extend the hose - every time. You do this by taking the end of the hose, let out about a metre or more in your hand, swing it in a circular fashion in front of you as you walk away from where the hose is connected i.e. the tap or real. Once you get good at this you can walk and keep an eye on the unfurling hose as you go.DON'T HOLD THE HOSE TIGHTLY, ALLOW IT TO TWIST IN YOUR PALM AS YOU SWING IT.This will untwist the hose automatically as you swing the hose in that circular fashion. You'll see immediately if you are swinging the wrong way as you'll make the hose wind up more, just swing in the other direction and whallah! no twist. If the hose is new OR been on a reel it's more prone to kinking because its been coiled up tightly. Likewise if you a roll the hose up by hand in a tiny coil it also will want to kink next time.If winding up the hose by hand use a piece of cord or thin rope tied to one end of the hose to tie the hose together once tidied away - ONLY AFTER IT'S NICE AND LIMP AND FREELY LYING IN A CIRCLE PATTERN.I wind my hoses in a coil about 700 mm diameter. One neat trick too is to wind the hose in its nice limp circle pattern is to do it in the corner of the fence or the gutter, or wall or something this way the hose won't move away from you and you can use one foot to keep the coils to a manageable size.Tying the hose up if not on a reel is a really good way to help it stay tidy and be easier to unfurl next time.NEVER WIND A HOSE FROM THE OPEN END TO THE FIXED POINT AS THIS WINDS TWIST BACK INTO THE HOSE.I always lay my hoses down flat out of the sun when not in use. UV rays will cook n reduce the life of your expensive hose by many years if you leave it outside. Here endeth the lesson lol 😊👍Always after swinging the hose out till its all lengthened out leave it to relax a bit. In the sun is best on warm concrete. When using for the first half a dozen times until it starts to be manageable I'd leave it like this before putting water in it to let it relax and do the same after use.Its a good idea to hold the real down somehow as you walk away swinging the hose (use your noggins and work out a way - a wire spike over the reel frame, or something heavy). If you don't understand my guide go to Youtube and watch sailors handling ropes (sheets) on a yacht.

Wow I wish I read the reviews first. Splurged to get a "good" hose. This piece of junk is the exception to the rule of "get what you pay for." I'd trade this thing back for half a chip found on the floorKinks and twists, I can barely get this thing on a reel, my garden is mostly dead now and it's literally because I have to deal with this thing. DO.NOT.BUY.
