Tried to attach to the side of the house. Followed the instructions exactly. Bought a new drill bit the exact size they said. It has now fallen off the wall twice and the holes in my house get bigger and bigger each time the screws are ripped out.After a month it blocked up and water stopped going through. Took it back to Bunnings only to be told it was "not faulty" and I couldn't return it.

Amazing retractable hose. Easy to install with a template provided for where the holes should be drilled. Love the fact that you are able to set the hose to a length where it will retract and stop. This is always adjustable. The retraction is smooth so say good bye to winding your hose by hand. Saves me time and energy however it does come with a price which I can justify.

Definitely the best 30m retractable hose reel on the market. We have tried the manual 'hose trolley' in the past, but found those extremely frustrating to use, and a waste of money. So now we always just go with a retractable hose reel. We tried the another brand of retractable hose reel before, and that one was ok too, but it kinked a lot more, and since then we've found this Gardena one to be the best, and for this price, you'd expect it to be!We like this one so much that we now have 4 of them around the property - because they're that good. Very good kink resistance. It's only kinked a couple times, but just needed a quick pull to the left or right, and it fixed itself. We'll have to go on the hunt for the perfect padlock now (well, 4 of them to be precise) - no biggie - but just a suggestion for future purchasers.

I am an 86 year old gardner and car enthusiast and have sufferred for years with leaky, short-lived hoses that have let me down at the critical moment. They were probably cheap ones which lay around in the sun, and worked once straitened out or once re-attached to the tap or nozzle. My new Gardena retractable is easy to work avoiding tangles and breakdowns so the garden , windows, house and vehicles get the hose-downs effectively quicker and accurately.So much effort needed....THANKS GARDENA.
This unit does rotate at 180 degrees as advertised however it hits the wall in doing so. Scratches on the side of the unit are inevitable if you use the full range of rotation. Mounting bracket should of been spaced further from the wall. I had to mount a plank of hardwood 19mm thick to stop it hitting the wall. The reel itself works very well.
Solved our problem of tangled hoses all in a mess. Screwed securely to the side of the house, this reel not only keeps the hose in order but looks great too. The hose seems to be good quality with only slight kinking at times. If I want to reach further I just snap on an extra length of hose with a connector. The slight kinking at times and price is up there at $399 otherwise happy with it.
Bought 2 weeks ago. Great product with retractable hose system that works perfectly. Only issue they should provide drill bit size on outside packaging for installing mounting plugs.. I bought the wrong size and had to make a second trip to Bunnings to buy the correct drill size after I opened the box and read the instructions.Other than the installation issue brilliant product.
Probably the best purchase I've had in a long time from the big green shed. The instructions on the box were easy to follow and the unit took about 10 mins to install - would have probably gone quicker if I didn't have OCD. The hose and connector itself are of a very good quality, very easy to use, I love the retractable system so i can walk all over the lawn with it and its simple enough to reel in. Been using it about 3 or 4 times a week for the last month with 0 issues. Would I buy again? Absolutely, i'm actually getting another one for the back yard very soon.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

If you want to use the full 30m of the hose, which is why I specifically bought this, you have to pull out 10m or so, lay it out, then pull out the rest and lay it out in a "up and down" loop of 5m or so, that way when you hold onto the business end and walk it out, the last 3 or so meters won't kink.The retracting spring mechanism is pretty alright. We installed on a post concereted in ground to save our weatherboards from any damage, which was a piece of cake.It takes some strength to pull the hose out - however this power is equally useful at bringing the hose back in from any distance. It accurately guides the hose back onto the reel.The connections are great quality. I've noticed that mine is abit fussy with retracting the last meter or so of hose, but probably just a small kink somewhere holding things up.
