Garmin Edge Mtb bundle was a clear process to set up and link each phone, hand at remote to the device. The GPS automatically picks up the tracks surrounding you.I have more to learn about the data but so far very happy with the purchase.

Really enjoying the features of this unit. Beats using a phone hands down. The remote is very handy and trail maps are great. Also in previous review I complained about auspost and there delivery time. Not sure if pushys had a word for me as last two parcels arrived very quickly

Even after using Garmin Edge products for well over 10 years I'm still impressed with the enhancements these products have each iteration. The size of the Edge 830 is a welcome change from my 8 year old Edge 800, reduced in size just enough to fit on short stems. MTB mount is one of the best ideas in years, placing the unit on the stem, right where I want it. Even the included silicone case, which I thought would add annoying size to the unit, looks good and doesn't hamper installation or functionality at all. Good to see the charging port is still 100% accessible with the silicone case on. Included Edge Remote seemed like a gimmick at first, especially being used to tapping the screen like I am, but the remote's mount puts the remote itself right above the shifter ... MoreEven after using Garmin Edge products for well over 10 years I'm still impressed with the enhancements these products have each iteration. The remote is a little non-responsive at first but I assume that's just part of the "wake up" cycle. USB-C would be nice so the unit can charge natively from a MacBook Pro or late-model car outlet, but that's really a first world problem on a unit like this. Overall very happy with the Edge 830 - it has completely replaced my Edge 1030 now.

Recently upgraded from the Edge 520 and was no disappointed! Navigation and maps are quite good and the screen is much improved over the old computer. Can't say much about the remote as I haven't used it and probably won't, but at this price it was the best value bundle that includes the silicone case and speed sensor.

It’s really an awesome piece of tech. It’s opened up my riding adventures to the next level. Great connectivity with gps app’s so I can upload ride routes and not have any fear of getting lost when out finding new riding trails. The data it collects it’s just amazing also and I find it very helpful for my health. I love the handle bar mounted remote. Hands don’t even leave the bars to check out my heart rate, next turns etc. Supa long battery life also. Very very happy with my purchase. Yeeeewww stoked 🤙

Was using a Garmin Oregon gps with a Ram mount and this Edge 830 is a vast improvement. Compact size yet still enough screen to zoom out to plot a course. Battery life is stellar unlike the Oregon. Still need to use Garmin Basecamp to plot a course for MTB tracks. There is an automatic course plot function that appears to work well for road and bike path rides. The separate remote is really useful to MTB applications as it can be mounted close the grips so start/stop, page scroll and lap function are at ones finger tips, without having to swipe the screen. The Trailforks maps will open in Basecamp, but unfortunately when they do information such as trail direction and grade is not shown. Need to keep a separate Trailforks map open if plotting a course as this ... MoreWas using a Garmin Oregon gps with a Ram mount and this Edge 830 is a vast improvement. The device software and interface are meh but I sure am glad I got the touch screen as it could of been worse. The integration with your phone is a bit buggy, The phone app automatically tells you stuff about your last excercise when you bring the Garmin near it which I really like. I didn't have to record or map anything first , Which is what I want. The remote is nearly pointless as the Garmin automatically times your trips without the need to press buttons (which is kinda the point) so unless you are a pro timing segments (which you can probably automate by programming a route anyway) don't consider the remote in your choice. Although the buttons are programmable to something so perhaps could be made useful , Not sure if you can but I would program each to find X ... MoreThe device software and interface are meh but I sure am glad I got the touch screen as it could of been worse. That would potentially be super useful if with the fam.The cover and speed sensor are useful. Which is why I purchased, I assumed the remote would be stupid.

Outstanding

I have an ebike and have been keen to explore Canberra. There are a lot of hidden bike tracks around Canberra and the Garmin makes getting from A to B and back again quite easy. This Garmin Edge package works very well. The touch screen and navigation is pretty well faultless. It updated when I powered up and the maps reflect the current conditions. I'm not into extreme downhill but this allows me to get off the bitumen and still know where I am going. Pushy's price was the best I could find at the time and I am very happy.

Very happy with unit for my off-road eMTB usage.
23 February 2022

Having just bought an eMTB I wanted a GPS unit that works for me with off-road trails. Initially I purchased a Hammerhead Karoo2 which is a very nice unit but is far better for road use so I returned and replaced with this Garmin 830 unit. The integration with Trailforks maps being built in means that the off-road trails being shown are far more complete (and actually useful!) Also, the Karoo 2 would always update my eMTB ride to Strava as a non-electric ride (messing up leaderboards and getting me into "trouble") while the Garmin does that correctly. Apart from that, it integrates well with my Shimano motor so overall I'm very happy with this unit.

The Garmin Edge 830 lasted 6 days before it stopped working. I have returned it to Pushys and they have been good in replying to emails. I am expecting a replacement in the next few days. Thanks Pushys, disappointing Garmin.
