Upgrades from the original Force and couldn’t be happier. The longer shaft length was the major selling point for me.

Had the motor installed and have used it on a few trips at this point. It excels in quietness and power. I have it fully integrated into my chart plotter and Garmin Quatix 7 watch. I have yet to integrate it into my dual powerpoles. I especially like the remote function of point and steer. I can compare it to the new Powerpole trolling motor which a fishing buddy has installed on his flats boat. The powerpole trolling motor is comparable but he had to work out a few kinks.

Took a chance on the new Garmin Kraken. Integration with the MFD is fantastic, lots of cool features, and is easy to deploy/stow. Mounted as expected on my 23ft CC. The motor is quiet, the latest tech with a brushless motor, has tons of power/torque, Spotlock is accurate, and holds the boat with ease. Garmin support is awesome. So far very happy with my choice. Hope it's durable and reliable in a saltwater environment. Time will tell.

I've had this trolling motor for about a month. I have never had one prior to this. It is on a Key West 239FS and I have the white 75" model. I'm running 3 lead acid batteries, 2 of which are not deep cycle. This is until my lithium battery gets here :). So far my friends and I are impressed with the trolling motor. I've been in strong wind and current, and it holds just fine - and only using 1/2 power. The anchor lock on the motor itself is really handy, docking under a bridge and getting the motor down quickly before drifting away, I immediately hit the anchor button. Then fine tune the position when I get settled in. Nice feature! The wireless communication to my MFD (1243) works flawlessly. Every time I turn it on - it connects without any intervention. Then fine tune the position when I get settled in. Nice feature! The wireless communication to my MFD (1243) works flawlessly. Every time I turn it on - it connects without any intervention. It works great from the screen too! I often use the anchor lock from the screen, while looking at the sonar to find my 'spot'. I also use it for navigating to a waypoint on the screen. Some caveats to this is when you tell the GPS to navigate to a spot it will ask you to engage the trolling motor. I hit "engage" and it does nothing. You need to turn on the prop after doing so. When you set the prop speed, that is what it does. You can have it go fast, or slow. Doesn't bother me, but know the speed is what you set. Once it gets close, it will anchor lock. I notice it always stops short of the mark. Not far, maybe 5~10 feet but it never gets right to it. Usually I just overshoot where I want to go or use the jog feature. The jog feature is nice, it tells you how many feet it will do the jog so you can just do a few feet, or 30+. The gesture control works good - but only for quick changes. It's very easy to get it to steer suddenly. What I have found useful is using the gesture to get it going in the general direction, then use the buttons to fine tune it.All in all, I think it works great. I love that it connects to my MFD and best of all I didn't have to run wires to it. The batteries have lasted me all day, even with the bad setup I have. Some things can be improved, like getting closer to the waypoint and maybe getting the gesture control to work a tad bit better. But, it has way more pros then cons!
So far so good just mounted the trolling motor before my first offshore trip of the year. Made fishing the ledges a dream no more anchoring.
The Kraken has a lot of power, even with just the 24v system. When you kick it into full speed you can feel it go. It also holds really well and the navigation is great too. I have a Lund Classic 1625 and I went with the white (saltwater) 75 inch. I also got the quick release and a RAM mount with Brocraft bracket. It is the perfect setup. I can't recommend highly enough.I hadn't heard of Eco Fishing Shop before. I live in Washington State and I'm not a kayak fisherman. I truly thought it might be a scam because the price was so low. I found their shop on Google Earth and gave it a try. I'm so glad I did.Eco Fishing Shop had the best price, free shipping, and were very communicative about the process. Great company. I will look to them first when buying my Garmin ... MoreThe Kraken has a lot of power, even with just the 24v system. When you kick it into full speed you can feel it go. Let me start by saying that I have been a Minnkota fan for years. I bought a new Ulterra last spring and it locked up after 3 days in Canada. Scheels refunded my money and I purchased a Garmin Kraken. Installation is a pain! This is NOT at all similar to a Minnkota. For starters, the power cable is huge and uses a parallel wiring system (2 pos and 2 neg in parallel). Good luck finding a good connector to terminate directly to their power cable. You need to go to a terminal block and then go to a connector. While the mounting holes are identical to the Minnkota, the design of the unit is different. The side covers on the Kraken curve down, which prevents this from working with slide mounting units. For $3800, this unit does not come with a foot controller or power ... MoreLet me start by saying that I have been a Minnkota fan for years. For $3800, this unit does not come with a foot controller or power plug. On the plus side, once you get it mounted and powered up, it is awesome compared to the Minnkota!!!! MUCH SMOOTHER! MUCH QUIETER!! Power is unbelievable. At 24V, I had my boat moving at 4mph. Autopilot seems much better than Minnkota. Spot lock got on the spot much quicker. Gesture control was nice once you got used to it. The motor can make micro adjustments in steering or rapid changes, I loved that feature. Hooking up to the Garmin depth finder/chart was simple. The wiring from the motor head to the base is nicer, not hanging down. I hope to have durability with this unit, it seems to be a much better unit. Garmin needs to come up with a good installation package - come on Garmin, you’re better than this. I did get a Slide mount to work with some modifications, but you needs skills to do it.
I bought this Kraken trolling motor along with the Garmin quick release plate system and adapter to mount my Livescope transducer. I also purchased an Ionic 36volt lithium battery to make powering it easier. All I can say is you definitely get what you pay for! The power of the motor versus wind and current is outstanding, the battery usage is reasonable and the tracking is great too along with my Ultra 10” Garmin fishfinder. If you can afford it, this is simply the best trolling motor available today.
After owning a Rhodan 84" on my 25'cc and a MinnKota Ulterra 54" on my jetski I have to say that the garmin kraken blows them both out of the water. Kraken is quieter, stronger, and more accurate. Only thing it lacks is the self deploy, stow, and teim. Definitely recommend this.
This thing is unbelievable, point and go, charting routes, and the anchor lock is great no more throwing an anchor out. Well worth the money.
