I was torn between the s62 and the epix when picking a golf watch. I really wanted to go with the epix because of that amoled screen but the price was a bit much. The amoled screen wouldāve been nice but that comes at a hefty battery price as well as monetary. Plus the s62 in the outdoor sun really looks great. Which is where Iāll primarily be using it. Overall Iām very happy. The watch looks great, you can dress it up with different bands, itās pretty light on my wrist and doesnāt really impede my swing like I thought it might. The only issue I have is depending on what golf glove I wear the watch can sometime interfere with the Velcro closure. I never noticed how some gloves have a lot of extra material at the wrist while some a more trim in that area. Still Iām loving it!

I haven't bought the tracking sensors so what this model can do is pretty limited. What's more, if often gives me bad yardages and takes me to the wrong hole. I also got the club sensors and am looking forward to see the whole integrated system work for me.My first observations are that the user interface of the watch and the Garmin App are rather clunky and not very friendly to operate. For example, there is no way to work through the functuionality of the system without actually being on a course and playing a round, which effectively makes the whole exercise rather stressfull.The integration between the app on the phone and the watch is minimal, and relies on a one way download of the data for one round to the phone, with limited editing opportunities. I was being misled initially on the golf course for remaining distance because it was showing meters and not yards. I find that it reports steps much more conservatively compared to FitBit, that I have used for 8 years, but I can just deal with adding 30 to 40% more steps than it shows. It seems to get fooled by steps on gym equipment. See 9,347 steps in picture, compared with 14,053 on my FitBit. Iāve been playing with this at least twice a week since I got it a month ago. The Golf distances all appear to be quite accurate. The map is a nice feature. I use it quite a bit and Iām still having trouble figuring out the hazards.. It took a couple of tries to figure out, navigating the touchscreen to get me from the hole. I suppose the downside is the manual is totally useless. Itās a lot easier, figuring out how it works by going online and watching YouTube.. As for all the other bells and whistles, itās a total waste. It wouldāve been a lot easier to just make a Golf watch with all the Golf features and sell it at a decent price point. If I hadnāt gotten it at a deal I wouldāve never bought this.

It's especially handy on the mid to short game where club selection is paramount. No more guessing, just grab the right club and make the shot. I was also able to browse through the many available watch faces and found exactly what I wanted. This is a great golf watch, and it's also a great watch for keeping track of my steps, heart rate and so much more. It also has a long battery life. Compared to my recent electronic watches this one has much better battery life. After a few more games I should be able to use the club caddy feature which suggests club selection. Overall I like what the watch has to offer. I like how the Garmin app keeps track of the club distances and scores. The scores really go in detail of how many shots were made for each specific hole. Furthermore, I can see which club was used and long it went for that hole. The only downside for this watch is the screen. It is not bright enough while out of the course thus making the watch one dimensional and not an everyday watch. I find that the screen ratio is small for a 47mm as I compare it to my 47mm Samsung Galaxy watch classic and the Garmin Approach s62 looks smaller. The wind and smart caddie features are great for a beginner like me. Overall this watch is worth buying specially with the price drop after the new S70 came out.

No speaker, mic, or keyboard for communication. You can get messages and such, bit only canned preselected responses to shoose from. Its a gold watch so most are getting awaybfrom distractions anyway so wasnt part of my rating. As a golf only accessory it used to be 5 star great, easily track progress, club distances, ect. New app updates have all but ruined that functionality. If you try to look at a round you just finished, the app will reopen the round and discard all your scores. There's also courses that have multiple greens on a hole, and garmin only has 1 of them available with not even a graphic of the green to manually adjust. If you play unknown courses best bring a laser unit as well. I give it another month before I start looking at skycaddy units or Arccos options. Very disappointed garmin ruined such a great product, and feel guilty I've talked quite a few people into buying the s60 or s62.
