Product works as advertised. Another quality product from Garmin. Really helps to see fish and structure while on the water. The clear view and sideview features are awesome. It is so much more than just a depth finder. Garmin has hit a homerun again with this fish finder. But I wouldn’t expect anything less from Garmin.

I bought this finder because I can't afford an 800 7 inch Hummingbird or Lowrance. It has done wonders for my fishing. I've had it 5 months now, and it has taken the guesswork out of what's below and reduced time looking for locations and fish. Especially when I'm fishing offshore. The images obviously are as crisp as the new mega imaging, (a fishing buddy has one) but interpreting the side vu becomes easier after a few trips. My boat, motor, and trailer cost me about 2 grand. The Garmin added about 500 bucks and it was worth it. I gave it four stars because without the price being an issue this isn't the best money can buy. I would buy this again for a bow fish finder even if in wasn't on a budget. My advice after purchasing this would be to spend a few hours ... Did exactly what I wanted it to do, at an economical price. Charts uncharted ponds and rivers plus marks the bottom structure while doing it. Has good imaging and is user friendly. Don?t know if the more expensive ones will do what this one does for farm ponds and the like. You can produce a chart where none are available.

I love the quality of GARMIN products. I have been using a Garmin 5cv Striker Plus for the last 6 years and decided to upgrade to a much larger screen with basically the same functions, the image quality and size on the larger screen is much easier to read especially for an older person like myself. The delivery from QLD: to Canberra was super fast, (2 days) Freak Sports staff are very knowledgeable about the products they sell and I would personally like to thank Morgan for his assistance with me in buying this item
UPDATE: I tried to update my previous 5 star review but it wouldn't let me. I'm updating to 3 stars because following installation I discovered that GPS feature does not come with any maps/charts nor can any be uploaded. Very disappointing. 7SV will generate its own maps and waypoints can be set but there is no land reference on the screen. Why it is designed this way I do not know. I would return it for a different model but by the time I installed it, it was too late to return. Other than no maps, the 7SV works fine. IE: The GPS pic (lower left on screen) is what it actually looks like in real life. Make sure you read all the details and know what you are getting prior to ordering any of the SV models.
Bang for buck! I recently upgraded from an older garmin that saw me boat plenty of Bass and Yellowbelly over the years. Tracks and being able to mark gps locations is all new to me but simple, easy to use and accuarte. The side scan definition is clean to read and the traditional and clear Vu are brilliant. Having used this sounder for the first time chasing Barramundi at night on impoundments i had never fished before, it worked a treat.
After using other more expensive brand sounders, I'm extremely happy with my Garmin Striker 7sv. Very easy to use and lots of features for your dollar. Very easy to install and operate. I would recommend it over other major brands to others.RegardsJose Sanchez
Bought this unit back in Dec of 2021. Lake lot is about 182 miles from home. Had a bit of hard time hooking power and getting unit started due to not great with computer or power hook ups. Once my son helped me things started to fall in place. Seems that I really do like the unit now. The colour feature is very nice and unit very easy to see.
This is an excellent little unit for the money. I previously had the striker 4CV + on my boat & switched to the striker 9 SV & it’s not even a comparison as to how much better this one is. The transducer shows everything so much clearly & with more detail. I was very disappointed with the CV on the striker 4, but the CV option on the 9SV is so much better. You can easily make out rock piles & logs & brush using the SV option & the traditional view is way better to it shows so much more details than the gt20 on the striker4. It was a lot of money for me to spend on a fish finder but I’m delighted I got it in the end my day’s out are more enjoyable now I can see exactly what the bottom of my local lough looks. I can highly recommend this unit to anyone looking to ... MoreThis is an excellent little unit for the money. The first one we purchased did not work we got out on the lake and the system did not work - at all!! Ugh!! So we made it back home and spent 45 minutes disassembling everything. Frustrating! The second one works, but a person has to access YouTube to be able to interpret the screen. Garmin customer service is poor to average (poorer). No surprise there! I’d buy a Garmin again because they’re the best but expect to be disappointed!
