More smartwatch than a specialist fitness band. Gets alerts from my android, can view picture messages, and has a microphone for answering calls. Sleep tracking has improved on this model compared to many other Garmin products, which is a big plus for me. The metrics for your fitness activities are pretty basic; no where near the depth of say, a forerunner, but still enough for a casual person. It would be nice to have all the features on a watch rather than specific features on many watches. The stock silicone strap has always been crap and irritates my skin. Undecided on buying the genuine nylon one for 80 bucks as third party straps have compatibility issues with the Venu 3.

I love this watch! I work in EMS working 24 hour shifts. This watch is durable and perfect for battery life so I don’t have to take my watch off mid shift to charge it. The battery can last me up to a week before I have to charge it. The fitness/running features in this are top notch. The sleep analysis features have helped me to learn my sleeping patterns and how to improve my sleep. This watch is completely customizable.

Absolutely in love!

I’ve been using the Venu 3s for several weeks straight now and LOVE it. This was an upgrade for me from the Vivoactive 3s which I also loved, but the Venu can do so much more. I love that I can now track my HIIT workouts (previously I just used the Strength mode since the vivoactive didn’t have HIIT mode), and I really enjoy the workout summaries right on my watch telling me how I performed and how this affects my day, and also how long it will take me to recover.I love the Sleep score, Body Battery and sleep coach. Although my husband’s vivoactive 4 also shows body battery, I think the Venu 3 gives way more detail. When I got sick, the body battery indicator really was accurate with how I felt! I love that they have the options there if you want it, but can turn off for people like me who solely care about the fitness/health tracking!

Accurate HR, Good Features
21 September 2023

Purchased the Venu 3 after having issues with a competitor's tracker that failed to accurately register HR during exercise. The Venu 3 reads my HR accurately, is feature rich and has a good app. Just a few complaints so far: (1) Sync is one-way to Apple Health and most other apps/products (Garmin syncs to but not from); this means that readings from connected scales and BP cuffs (other than Garmin brand) as well as other connected exercise machines (e.g., Peloton, Hydrow, etc.) won't sync to Garmin without utilizing certain third party apps, making it difficult to use Garmin Connect as the "one-stop" source of tracking; (2) sleep tracker won't allow adjustment of 8 hour per day recommended sleep amount: people who regularly get/need less than that will always ... MorePurchased the Venu 3 after having issues with a competitor's tracker that failed to accurately register HR during exercise. Fabulous Smartwatch!
26 September 2023

This is an amazing smartwatch! While in the surface it seems more expensive than some of its competitors, the fact that I don't have to pay a monthly fee for ordinary features that should be free, this is much cheaper long term than others and reviewers should consider that in their reviews (they don't). Sturdy and beautiful it works seamlessly with my Pixel 7 and the fact that it uses standard quick release watch bands makes the options endless! I can change out the look at will! Garmin outdid themselves with this one.

Garmin nails it again with the Venu 3

A beautiful watch with Garmin’s most up to date features. The bezel has a stunning appearance, the screen is bright with brilliant resolution and it comes in 2 sizes for fitment preferences. 5 stars for Garmin’s flagship smartwatch. There are so many options from Garmin these days that it really depends on who you are and what you do. Unlike the completion that makes you pretty much conform to their products. I have had the VivoActive3 and Fenix Series and they each served a great purpose (VivoActive was an affordable activity tracker smartwatch, Fenix is an amazingly durable everything smartwatch with long battery life and this is a classy everyday smartwatch with activity tracking and updates biometric tracking). This is my first Garmin. I have wanted a watch with onboard GPS for years. First, I got a Garmin forerunner. It was huge so I returned it. Had a Fitbit Versa 2 for many years, which was OK, but no GPS... Got a Galaxy Watch Active 2 as part of a phone deal, that was fine, but the battery died after less than 18 months.Got a Fitbit Versa 4. No way would it connect to GPS, same with the Sense 2, so both returned.I decided to bite the bullet and lash out more. I was looking at the Venu 2S, and then they sneaked in the Venu 3S. Dilemma! Do I get the 2S, and wish I'd got the 3S? I got the 3S in Sage Grey, which in reality is more of a bluey duck egg colour, rather than the grey with a hint of green on the website. The colour it is is the colour I would have picked. It's a good size for a smallish wrist, and I haven't charged the battery, apart from when it arrived. That's 5 days ago, with 2 x 5km runs, and just 1 day when I was at work and can't wear a watch. Functions are good. I took a phone call and was heard well, and it was clear on my side. There are plenty of forums to help navigate it. It took me a while to change the settings to kms and Celsius, but I found it eventually. It's early days but so far I'm very happywith it.

I'm active 4-5 days a week and so far this has been great. What I like:The battery lasts for up to 9days with my level of activityCharging is quickIt detects activities faster than my vivoactive 4I love that I can now type my text responsesDo not disturb works wellMy only dislike/concerns are:I question the accuracy of the sleep/wake times, my sleep scores are low even when I feel rested.I'd like to see the 7day estimate without the present day in the calculation.Wish I understood the body battery estimates

This watch is loaded (could use more apps)
30 September 2023

I lost my Fenix and needed a replacement, so I looked back at Garmin. I didn't need the tactical stuff anymore, however I do like my creature comforts and started needing more health related diagnostic tools. This watch has been amazing for that. Having the speaker on it is awesome for answering calls from the watch. I also got the BP cuff and between the two, there is not a vital I can't collect... except for temp (which I think is an odd feature to leave out.) Also, I would like to see a "my fitness pal" widget and a larger variety of apps. This is a 5 star watch that, unfortunately, lacks some of the basic functionality of most smart watches. If you want an all around amazing health monitor and fitness watch with limited smart features, this is it.

Too much like an Apple Watch
16 September 2023

I purchased this Venu 3 at Best Buy this morning. I thought it would be a good updated replacement for my Garmin Instinct Solar. I liked the looks of the watch, the colorful display, and the larger viewable screen. However, I did not like the reduced number of control buttons and over reliance to touch screen. Also, I was not interested in sending/receiving text messages, calling/receiving calls on the watch, and music on the watch. These are the main reasons I do not want an Apple Watch. Also, I wasn’t sure about battery life compared to my old Instinct Solar. The default watch face was horrible and most of what I saw on the Garmin watch face choices weren’t much better. I’ll probably just keep using it until it quits and then look for an instinct 2 Solar when the third generation comes out and the second generation goes on sale as the first generation version Instinct Solar watches are now.
