I bought this a few months ago as I wanted something compact. It serves that purpose well. No messing about with a hose, the canisters are cheap and quick to change. However, as far as cooking, it won't simmer. I have to move the knob beyond where it naturally sits in the low setting to avoid burning pancakes. Sometimes it will go out when set this low. Also the flame is more red than blue so it leaves a bit of soot on your pots.5 stars for compact and convenient1 star for cooking ability3 stars overallIf you just want something to boil the kettle then this will do.

I brought this to use in my camper about 3 months ago. First time I got it out was today. I read the instructions to make sure I did nothing wrong.I put in the gas canister pushed the lever to lock it in, but nope it wouldn't lock in and I could hear gas leaking when holding it down, no matter what I did the canister wouldn't lock into place.I re-read the instructions to see if I had done anything wrong, but the trouble shooting area doesn't cover this problem

Smart looking stove, compact and great idea but terrible value as it flies through the butane. I managed to just boil 1 x kettle from 1 x can of gas, I thought there was a problem so did it again and got the same result. The reason why these are so cheap is that you are locked in to buying gas cans for the rest of life, which seem cheap if you consider how much they they cost but add up in a very short time. I would seriously suggest a proper LPG bottle with a small camp stove. Great idea but poor execution, don't do it.

I purchased a Gasmate butane stove on special, knowing we had cyclone Gabrial headed our way and needed to be prepared. I tested it to know how to use it should we have a power cut. Worked well. Quick and clean burning, great price.
I bought this as a backup to my caravan stove, it’s brilliant little thing, heats things up better than the actual stove. ONLY issues is Bunnings never have any gas bottles o when I go in despite it saying they are “in stock”, and you can never find anyone on shop floor to help except checkout people who are dealing with a line of people. Bunnings Notham needs to work harder at keeping shelves stocked up DURING THE DAY.
Great little stove! Starts first click and heats fast. Gas seems to last a long time. I suggest the reviewers below who broke theirs didn't understand the safety mechanisms it has. Bottle must be lined up, rotary knob needs to be OFF before you can engage or disengage the bottle.
Just try one mine for the first time. Control nob is too tight on the seal and won't turn off as you'd expect. Don't buy this unit. Not even worth the drive to get a refund, this one is going straight to the bin
Only used a couple of times prior and a component of the ignition knob (plastic) snapped. It is now useless, even the cartridge lever wont work. Would avoid at all costs, could have dangerous consequenses due to its poor quality.
Nicely made, good value. But after a couple uses the valve where the gas cylinder connects leaks gas making it quite dangerous. No amount of fiddling, adjusting or changing cylinders helped.
Just bought one and tried it for the first time. Nob for the gas is too tight on the rubber seal and doesn't turn off as you'd expect. Quality is crap and for the money isn't even worth returning. This one is going start to the bin.
