I bought this torque wrench and used it extensively on small fasteners when doing a timing belt job. I really like the accuracy and feel of this torque wrench and it has worked great so far. The only thing I'm not perfectly happy with is the tooth count. Gearwrench torque wrenches seem to use an approximately 32 tooth count which is unfortunate and can be annoying when you're trying to torque but there's really not much space to work with. I would still recommend this torque wrench, but it's important to keep the tooth count in mind.
I have the Gear wrench 1/2' and 3/8' drive torque wrenches and purchased this expecting same quality. Price should reflect good quality too. Two things right of the bat since I opened and used it twice. No flex head like my other two from gear wrench and this thing is brand new but has skipped on me twice while tightening to 69in/lb (mild torque if you ask me). Oveall will get the job done but I expected more out of $80 purchase.
I've been an auto tech for 6 years and i just bought this because I was doing major engine repair to a Ford 5.4. This toque wrench is very similar to my 3/8 Matco torque wrench. The main issue i have with this torque wrench is the teeth for the ratchet needs to be improved. It does the job however doesn't do well ratcheting in tight areas where movement is minimum. As far as accuracy I can not contest due to not having seeing the calibration for myself.
Needed one of these to replace the clutch on my motorcycle. Only complaint is there's no 'click', it just sort of has a slight 'break' when its at the right torque. Bought on black friday for $60 and it was worth that price.
Nice little torque wrench. Only 2 small problems. The numbers on the handle are hard to read. Would be better if they were black. Would show up better. Also, when you reach the desired torque setting, you have to listen closely for the click. It's not as loud as other torque wrenches I've used. If these 2 issues were corrected, I would have given it 5 stars.
Really nice. I bought this for bicycle assembly and maintenance. Love it. Gear wrench tools are a great balance of cost and quality. I trust this brand. I also have a set of their ratcheting wrenches.
good quality torque wrench. solid construction and it locks your setting so you cant accidentally increase or decrease your setting while torquing down nut/bolt. Will buy others of the same brand.
