Attracts moths of all shapes and sizes and then continues to zap none stop and fry them! Then actually doesn't kill them. The cracking sound it makes is very loud and annoying. Would not recommend this product!

Disappointing

I looked at the reviews for this product before buying and noticed that they were either great or terrible. But I thought I would take a risk. Unfortunately, mine lasted a total of about 6 hours before having an electrical problem and tripping the circuit breaker for the house. Most disappointing. I would not buy this product.

Great while it lasted for 24 hours

Bought Saturday and worked will in the evening, but came to use on Monday evening and the UV light stopped working, so didn't attract the bugs. Would expect light to work for more than one evening, Don't feel like forking out $30 for a new light after only one use. Hopefully Bunnings will replace after only one night usage, great when it worked!

Lasted 1 hour

Unfortunately I am in great same boat as a few other reviewers where the zapper just stopped working after an hour. When turning it off and back on to try to get it to start again it would just do a little zap. I checked it for bugs to make sure nothing was stuck and it was still perfectly clean and as new. I will get a new one tomorrow and see if I have better luck. Sounds like they are good if you get a working unit haha.

Power Cable length too short

The Gecko recommends 2.5m high away from lights. However. The cable length is only 1 metre, so unless it's connected to an extension, it's no good. the problem is, it recommends being outdoors so, how to have it at the recommended distance, connected to power. I'm not sure now, where to put it. it has attracted many moths, so they all come indoors. They are still alive in the morning. Not impressed really.

Thanks Brenda!!Without your great review, on telling me how good this things kills insects, I may of overlooked this product. I personally would’ve given it 5 stars though, not the one you gave. As everything that even looks at this thing drops dead mid flight. Can’t wait for insect free nights this summer!!Once again thanks Brenda, great choice!!!!!

The zapper is fine, but the globes are a disappointment.

I bought it last year, and it works well, but I'm already on my 2nd replacement globe; they only last around 5 mths when left on 24/7, and normally not turning globes on/off prolongs their useful life. My old, deceased & unreplaceable zapper worked just as well using a simpler globe that literally lasted for years. This one is a lot easier to clean out with the supplied long brush; it is NOT totally self-cleaning.

Useless

Set the unit up under our outside pagoda where there are plenty of mossies. Had the unit on for about 3 hours altogether because my wife was doing some gardening and we had relatives over for coffee. Still swatting mossies, yet the zapper had not struck a single blow.

When will ACCC hold manufacturers accountable for misleading/deceptive conduct?

Purchased less than a month ago for the holiday house in Bouvard and yet to see a mosquito in the catchment tray. It only attracts many moths but 85% fly away when you remove the catchment try: What a piece of rubbish. If I can find the box I will return it to Bunnings for a refund! Just wish Bunnings would review these products before they sell them:

Worst bug zapper EVER!

My last zapper died! Literally before it died it was zapping bugs every 5sec.Couldn't get the same one so got this one.Bugs everywhere and no zaps night after night.Taking it back.Read the reviews cus they are real!!!!
