Very reasonable price makes this transformer an attractive proposition. When used with 500W or less demanding device it is perfectly fine. I run 500W/120V circular saw from it with no trouble whatsoever. 1000W is a peak power and probably a bit of overstatement. Would not recommend to run it at such power for long time. Safety switch on the front is a nifty feature - one does not need to fiddle with fuses if anything. This is not a toroidal transformer -which makes it fairly heavy and less efficient. However it looks quite solid and works quietly. Being made in China it may vary in quality and design. Mine for example has a carry handle across the top, not along it as you see in the ad. But that not the thing to fuss about for the price.

Good product. Handles transformer function very well. Gives me more options if I buy US power tools.
I've tried other power reduces and they can't handle the load i have a 8 track stereo system that need a power reduces to run it and now I have a gen power reduces GSD 1000 you little beauty I can listen to my kinks 8 track tapes thanks again keep up the good work
