I bought a tube of the Sandalwood. Smells a little strange fresh out of the tube but it changes into something wonderful when you whip up a good lather. Definitely the slickest shaving cream I've tried. Its thick lather sticks to your skin and doesn't dry out. I will likely buy a 200g tub of this stuff. Now... to choose what scent I'll try next...

I have tried many types of shaving cream over the years, including TOBS which has been a favourite, but I must say that this Trumper's Rose is definitely a superior product. The scent is truly like roses and not like a chemical approximation. As far as performance goes, it produces a wonderful thick and slick lather which has no tendency to dry out during a multi-pass shave. As an example, I generally find Feather blades harsh and uncomfortable to use, but I gave it a try with this shaving cream and it was a different story altogether - the shave was both comfortable and very close !! I only purchased a travel tube to give Trumper's a try but I will definitely be purchasing a tub of this cream next time around and will try some other Trumper products as well. Another excellent cream from G.F.Trumper. It whips up into a nice thick and rich lather quickly. Even after the first pass and after I rinsed, my face, I could still feel the slickness on my face. It I would definitely recommend this to all beginners as well as seasoned wet shavers. Don't worry about the price, its well worth it.
I've had both the Rose and Almond scented creams in my rotation for the last several months. I think they are both excellent products that make fantastic, emollient lather that really helps my razor glide across my face. Add to that the fact that they smell incredibly good (to me, they ooze class). Further, the Trumper's tubes are a quality travel-sized product. The tube itself is metal, and the cap is a sturdy piece of plastic - a long shot ahead of the incredibly fragile tube that the otherwise excellent Taylor's creams come in. While I internally debate whether the large pot is really worth the price premium over Taylor's cream, for my traveling cream I have no reservations about buying this product.
Trumper's Rose - the in-tube-version - was pretty much my entreÕ© to high-end shave creams when a fellow wetshaving enthusiast tossed me a half-used tube of the stuff close to a decade ago. Only this week did I reacquaint myself with it, and I must say the hype is still real: between this, and a fresh blade (Dorco ST-300) in my Gillette Super Adjustable razor, I gave myself one of the closest and smoothest shaves in recent memory. It's that good, and I'm a sucker for that rich rose scent. Not exactly cheap, but in its favor you only need to use the proverbial dab on a brush, which is enough for at least two if not three passes, depending on your particular regimen.
I have shaved for 50 years, and I think the Trumper shave creams are the finest. I love the Rose fragrance better than their other ones, but that is personal choice. I highly recommend you try it and I promise you won't be disappointed.Regards,Larry P. Burton II
This is an excellent shaving cream. The rose fragrance is simply unbelievable! I use this in conjunction with a badger shaving brush and it lathers exceptionally well with only 1-2 pea sized amounts. It softens the skin adequately and it is a million times better than ANY shaving soap which will literally dry your skin out. Some reviewers have commented on how this is very similar to the Truefitt and Hill shaving cream - I can believe that, seeing as both their respective ingredients are very similar, if not identical. Once the current tube finishes, it's either the Truefitt & Hill fragranced creams or this one. Bottom line - if you like an exceptional shaving cream with a rose fragrance - ditch the Gillette cans and purchase this tube.
Having read several reviews praising the gentle non irritant formula I decided to take the plunge. Having long ago accepted that dry, irritated skin was an inescapable product of shaving I was really delighted to dry my face following shaving and find no tightness, irritation, or residue from the product. In terms of scent, rose struck me as being unusual, but to me this is more of a sweet turkish delight 'rose', which I don't mind at all. Great product if everything else brings you out in a rash.
This is the first time after 35 plus years shaving that I have used any products from the Geo F Trumper range and I must say I'm well impressed with this cream. Being a bowl latherer I had no problem whipping up a mass of rich foam with only a small amount of this cream. It has a nice scent to it which is not overpowering and I have used it with the Coral Skin Food as a pre and post shave and can honestly say it gives one of the best shaves I have had with no irritation whatsoever. I can see it lasting a fair old time as you don't need much so I would say its good value for money. I'm that impressed I have gone on to buy the Sandalwood version as well. Give it a try you won't regret it.
