I can't say enough good things about Beauty Affairs. I've been a loyal customer now for about three years and can't fault their delivery - it feels like I get VIP Express Post when I just make a regular order. I (now) do a lot of online shopping across the board (clothes, shoes, beauty, etc.) and Beauty Affairs stand out from every other vendor I have shopped with throughout COVID as fast, reliable, and essentially flawless in their supply chain when even the previously-good-ones have slowly fallen victim throughout 2021 to COVID disruptions and delays. Whatever they're doing, it works! I will only shop elsewhere for beauty, cosmetics, and perfume on the odd occasion they don't stock a brand I want, but apart from that, I say: MECCA, who? Sephora, what? ^.^

To start, this hairdryer comes in such a beautiful box so A+ on packaging. The cord is a great length, longer than any styling cord I’ve every had, which I love it makes it so much easier to use. The actual hairdryer works great, is very light, and has a great cover on the fan at the back which keeps any hair from getting caught or pulled. There are 4 temperatures and 3 different tan speeds making it really easy to style your hair. Due to both cooling functions it also doesn’t do much if any heat damage to hair! I found this took much less time than my normal hairdryer to dry.

Best hairdryer I’ve ever owned !

Can't beat GHD

I have always used GHD products, from straighteners to brushes, to products and hairdryers and always love the products. I haven't tried any of the wands, hot paddle brushes although I did get the smooth curling tong, for me I just cannot use this atall, I have tried and tried and I either cannot get the hang of it or the barrel is to big but I have burnt my hands several times trying and if I can burn myself to the extent I have, i still have the scars to prove it, then I can only imagine the damage its doing to my hair. I did recently buy an expensive airwrap but ended up sending it back as it didn't do anything that I couldn't do with the GHD hairdryer and straighteners, did not rate it atall and over priced and over rated so I sent that back and went back to my ... MoreI have always used GHD products, from straighteners to brushes, to products and hairdryers and always love the products. I'll stick to what I know. Would recommend GHD to anyone, you know what your getting and it does what it says on the tin, or the box rather.

Game changer
18 December 2022

Keep in mind that I have had my previous hairdryer for nearly ten years....but I didn't think that there could be much difference between my old hairdryer and a new one. I was wrong and I've been really impressed by the GHD Helios. Benefits- - It doesn't get hot like my old hairdryer which used to make my head, hand, hair and me in general really hot. - It dries my hair noticeably quicker - The biggest benefit is that my hair is much much smoother. I thought battling with frizz was just down to my hair, but there's now very little frizz and I don't have to straighten it. The lack of frizz and style lasts for days. Other pros - the cool is actually cool and it is really well balanced. Cons- it is more than I would like to have spent on a hairdryer but it's been worth it.

It’s an average hairdryer…Not hugely better than my 7 year old much cheaper one
19 July 2021

I was so excited to replace my old hairdryer and did a lot of research, even considering the Dyson. From reviews and blog posts I decided this seems like a good decision. I’ve had it a few months now and I’m just very underwhelmed by it. Lightweight? It’s average hairdryer weight, unless there’s particularly heavy ones out there. Super duper drying technology? My hair dried maybe five mins faster. I was seeing people say it halved their drying time so expected better, but maybe it’s just because I have high porosity hair (stays wet for HOURS naturally) The diffuser attachment was very expensive and wasn’t anything impressive really, pretty similar to what is out there. I was thinking it would be light years ahead of my old hairdryer in tech and performance but it ... MoreI was so excited to replace my old hairdryer and did a lot of research, even considering the Dyson. I was thinking it would be light years ahead of my old hairdryer in tech and performance but it just wasn’t. Attachments are really fiddly at first. You have to use brute force to click it on and I actually slipped and hit my hand first time! Saw a few reviews saying this ans thought how can an attachment be difficult, but yeah they weren’t kidding! It’s also quite loud but sounds smoother than my old one. I didn’t find the button position fiddly like others and found it as easy to use as my last one, just takes a slight adjustment of getting used to a new machine. If you’re reading this and think this hairdryer will half your routine and just improve your life. Maybe reconsider lol. The only thing I can’t dispute is this thing is stunningly designed visually. Really elegant. Really hope this helps someone!

Life changing hair dryer! Simply the best!
17 November 2022

I had the GHD Air for years before I purchased the Helios, sadly the Air came to the end of its life and I needed a new one. My hairdresser recommended another brand which I purchased initially and immediately returned as it was absolutely no comparison to the Air I had. Using the same products, brush and technique my hair took ages to dry and was frizzy afterwards (I have long, thick wavy hair so it’s hard to get a smooth bouncy effect from just blow drying) but I could achieve this easily with the Air. So I decided to purchase the Air again but then decided on the upgraded Helios, and have been so happy I did! It’s even better than the Air, faster dry time and even smoother/bouncier results. I love that’s it’s so light as well. Love how this dries my hair!!! BUT…
10 July 2022

I’m absolutely delighted with how this dries my hair. A huge improvement over my drugstore dryer which will now live in the guest room. There is one problem though and that keeps me from giving it a 5* rating. Oddly, neither I nor my much stronger and somewhat taller husband can easily get the plug on this into the wall socket. I always put it away when I’m done as I like my sink area uncluttered. To use this easily it needs to stay plugged in. I hoped that after we put it in a few times it would loosen up but not so.

Not the best
11 October 2021

I bought this over two weeks ago as a replacement for my very old (10yrs ) Air hairdryer. I listened to the sales person who said it was the best to have as the Air's would probably be discontinued soon and the Helios was much better. Unfortunately I have to disagree. Yes the Helios does dry really quickly, but unless you are are professional and used to speed and tension, I found this just made my hair difficult to style. The moisture was gone. If I changed the blow speed down, my hair just turned frizzy so it's kind of all or nothing. It didn't make my hair any smoother than the Air, probably worse if I'm honest. There was no life or bounce after drying. Whether this is due to the new motor technology used, I have no idea. The speed switch has to think about ... MoreI bought this over two weeks ago as a replacement for my very old (10yrs ) Air hairdryer. The speed switch has to think about changing up or down a level when you're selecting which speed you want, give it a second - it gets there in the end! So I guess this button is either faulty or just badly made. I see another review states the same thing. For the extra ££, I definitely do not feel I have bought a better product or a quality product and remain very disappointed. I loved my Air, that was definitely the best dryer I have ever owned. So much so, I will be putting the Helios in a drawer and forgetting about it. I can't return it to the store as it's classed as a 'personal grooming product'. And I have just placed an order for another GHD Air.

The best for thick coarse hair!
25 January 2023

After 9 years my trusty hairdryer finally gave out. I asked my hairdresser what they recommended and they said this, I was dubious about it matching my old salon hairdryer… but! It’s surpassed all expectations and I absolutely love it.At first I was disappointed that it came with only two settings for power but boy was I wrong! It’s super powerful and heat is great, the cold shot holds everything in place and also cools me down when drying in summer. Highly recommend! If you’re doubting whether it will be strong or hot enough for your thick frizzy hair, rest assured this is the best hair dryer you could get!! Love it and will never go back (or waste my money on the over priced competitors). Thanks GHD!
